@@LatexKim794 No it's definitely a glitch, using dropped items to propel yourself higher is not intended. That's not a blind spot, the developers did not leave items there for you to jump off of.
@@LatexKim794 Let me put it this way, imagine theres just a big wall at the dam, all you have to do in the main game is get the key from the end of a faction quest and you can walk through to beat the game. If you can just propel yourself over it, the entire game becomes pointless if people consider the physics jump glitch to be fair. No there's not a wall like this, but the point remains you're not intended to do it. It is a glitch in every possible context. Also its speedrunning, the rules should be strict about this they just aren't for some reason on this. You're not supposed to break in to areas and skip entire segments by means of unintended glitches. You can move fast and avoid things sure, but regardless of your opinion it's a glitch.
Can I ask why you didn’t spam “wait 1 hour” during the securitron upgrade scene, but instead periodically waited 1 hour? I notice the any% wr spams it, while you were allowed to use it, but only sparingly?
The waiting alone doesn't skip Yes Man's dialogue. In any%, you wait 1 hour, then quicksave/quickload, which skips to the next dialogue line. Since quicksave abuse is not allowed in glitchless, I can't do that method. But even just waiting once per dialogue line is faster than not because it shortens the gap between lines - saving ~7 seconds
The only mods allowed are the New Vegas Script Extender and the New Vegas Anti-Crash mod. There is also a mod that displays what mods/plug-ins I'm using to prevent people from using other mods. The 4gb patcher is also allowed, but that comes with the game if using GOG instead of Steam
@@PigSpots that's it, thank you. I always pick up the chip so it never crossed my mind that that's what gives you access. Thanks so much After 4 years I'm still learning new stuff about this game
It wouldn't really be helpful - all you have to do is jump while the character isn't moving, and moving your mouse. The only rule is that key binds must be 1 to 1, but again I don't think it would be helpful since there's a specific timing window for hopping in this game
Glitch is an arbitrary term, and the rules are all defined per the community to decide. Arguably, all he did was parkour up a wall, and is nowhere near as egregious as load mechanic abuse and reload dashing. The official rule set has been posted to speedrun website, and you would be allowed to climb up to the monorail if you wanted to attempt your own speedrun. Here are the rules: The use of the following glitches/exploits are not allowed: clipping, dialogue skipping through saves, duping, save landing, item flying. Abuse of load mechanics is not allowed. Timing starts when you skip the intro cutscene after selecting New Game. Timing ends on the load screen before hitting the outro slides. DLCs are allowed. Taking the Skilled trait twice by rebuilding your character after Goodsprings is allowed. Use of the "Timestop" and "Reload Dash" glitches are not allowed. Finish game siding with Yes Man. www.speedrun.com/fallout_nv?h=Glitchless-yes-man&rules=category&x=7dg84542-r8re7j2l.q8kk9erq
@@pairize4217 No but using dropped items to propel yourself higher is, whether it's legally considered so or not, you were never intended to be able to jump up to the monorail from the ground level.
This is pig spots. I'm pretty sure he's got many of the best runs on the speedrun website so I'm sure he's aware of what's allowed or not on a glitchless run
"Take it slow now. It ain't a race."
funny
I'm dead serious when I say, I used this video for methods on how I can speedrun hardcore mode. Helped a whole lot
Glad to hear it helped!
It’s not THAT bad if you spec it right
Was the bit with the armor at 7:07 just to get enough height to jump into the monorail?
Yep!
Does it get you on the leaderboards?
This is the new world record, once verified
Beautiful.
What's the name of the "mod"/addon do you install to have all these timers in the bottom left corner?
It's a separate program called LiveSplit
@@PigSpots Merci!
Guh??
7:06 glitchless my ass, every single run using this crap ain't glitchless.
nv crashes every hr even modded. u could beat it twice lol.
He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster.
Glitchless, but does a glitch to get into the monorail lmao wtf
Its not a glitch its a blind spot in the game’s design

@@kata788 if no walls are being broken and the functions of the game aren’t being altered to progress its not a glitch as far as im concerned

It's been a long time since ive done a run, how do you open the antechamber with only 20 science?
Once I kill and loot Benny I have the platinum chip, so I can access all that stuff in the Lucky 38 with it

Bruh bhopping aint glitching, just using the movement to the fullest extent pretty much
