  • This marks the Odissi dancer’s entry on the stage as she invokes the blessings of Lord Jagannath for an auspicious beginning. This is followed by a salutation to Mother Earth, the Guru (teacher), and the Sabha (audience); also called the 'trikhandi pranam'. The dancer then prays to Lord Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles, for his blessings. This piece is set to raga Megh and Kedar, Taala: Chaturasara Ekatali.
This dance is choreographed by Padma Vibhushan Late Guru Sri Kelucharan Mahapatra.
Performers: Debashrita Roy, Mahima Bhattacharya, and Triparna Tapan Das

The sublime medley of movements, gestures and expressions connecting the human spirit with the divine soul. Odissi dance, one of the oldest forms of classical dance in India.
The range of emotions portrayed is huge and touches every emotional chord - right from melancholy to ecstasy, sensual to rage, pride to devotion, and philosophical to the religious.👍 Immortal ODISHA ☝️

The thread or ornament people wear on arms is very important to Odisha's culture and Odissi get up. You didn't wear it. But overall it was great👍😊
