One of my dearest memories from childhood - it's Sunday, a wintertime, it's snowing outside. Mom is cooking, and she's waiting for each skier to finish in order to run to the kitchen and stir. My mom, dad, my sister, and I... cheering like crazy, and always watching female skiing. Each of us had a favourite skier, but we actually cheered all together for Deborah, Sonja Nef, Anja Person and Janica Kostelic. One of the most beautiful memories I have 30 years later. And almost a decade later, that unbelievable performance from Janica, when she lost a stick at the first gate... I remember so vividly all four of us almost not breathing, and screaming afterwards. Still today I don't know if I saw a greater sports delivery.
This was great competition of Deborah Compagnoni vs Carole Merle, and one of the dearest memories of my young age. In fact, Deborah Compagnoni beaten Carole Merle by a huge margin.The look on Carole Merle's face when she loses was heartbreaking. But Deborah Compagnoni was better and deserved the gold medal. The French crowd must have been disappointed, but 1.41 seconds was a very big gap. This 1.41 gap also shown the difference in talent between a winner the gold medalist of Deborah Compagnoni and a loser the silver medalist of Carole Merle. Congratulations Deborah Compagnoni !!
@@fabioricci6170 ...all'epoca non gareggiava ancora in speciale...solamente superG e Gigante. Inoltre, se non ricordo male, l'infortunio avvenne proprio il giorno seguente a questa splendida vittoria
@@fabioricci6170 ...ha ragione!!! Non me lo ricordavo proprio: era convintissimo che avesse iniziato a gareggiare in speciale la stagione seguente all'infortunio di Albertville. Mi scuso per l'errore...purtroppo sono passati parecchi anni...
@@andreapitton8497 pensa che alla vigilia delle Olimpiadi dichiarò sia lei che il suo staff che dopo i giochi sarebbe ritornata a fare le Libere ,c erano chance anche per la coppa generale
