Wonderful. I am a Mechanical Engineer but I was not able to solve the problem of my windshield spray without watching this video. Thanks so much for sharing. This video is detailed and very informatics. Excellent to the provider.
Great detailed video and I checked all that. My problem was where the vacuum hose came through from the hood towards the reservoir. There is a little metal connector and mine was rusted almost shut. Got new vacuum hose and skipped the metal connector right to the first plastic piece. This was AFTER replacing the motor and both spray valves (wish I saw your video sooner). If this doesn’t work for you check where it goes through the hood to the reservoir. THEN buy stuff.
I really appreciated your video. It help me to fix my truck sprayers for my windshield. Actually when I saw what you use to fix it I noticed that they are very similar to couplings and T used for drip irrigation system , the small houses , couplings tees Are the same size. Many people use them in their gardens. That is what I use to fix my problem for less than $.25😄
You saved me a lot of trouble. My 2012 Tundra had the exact same symptoms. I was going to clean or replace the spray nozzles but instead I cut out the valve and repacked it with a Tee. Works perfectly. Thanks a bunch.
My 2013 RAV4 has had weak output from both emitters for a while now but when I pull the main line off the elbow where it joins the hood I get a nice, strong stream. You just cleared up my problem. Thank you!!
I had the same issue with my 2010 Toyota Tundra. Driver side windshield jet would work and the passenger side would NOT. I used the guide in this video to change out my valve to a vacuum T. Works like a champ. Thanks man!
Saved me the money I would have spent for labor and parts at the service department. Lol Easy to follow, straight-forward instructions, and if I could give you multiple thumbs up I would. 👍👍 Oh I too need to change my wiper blade on the passenger side. That is next on the maintenance schedule. Lol 👍
Been looking for a DIY video on this issue for close to a year now! Stumbled on to it b/c of the suggestion videos on the right side of the screen. (Update the video title the word "nozzle" included and I think more Tundra owners w/ this problem will find their way to this solution! Thanks a bunch for posting, I'll give this a shot next weekend.
Thank you, sir! You saved me a lot of time cleaning our Rav4 passenger nozzle, replacing the tube, etc... all things I would have done before I suspected that Toyota over-engineered a simple T-junction! (Don't get me wrong... I love my Toyota and it gives me VERY few problems but this was kind of a crazy thing they did here!)
This is great. I have this same problem with my 08 Camry but couldn't find any info on how to fix. Looks like the Camry Corolla Sienna and Tundra all have the same nozzle under hood design so this should do the trick. Thank you for sharing. As a fellow tightwad I really appreciated the info - especially since the dealer wanted to charge $70 in labor, for a 5 minute fix.
Great Video !! I would have saved a lot of aggravation if I had watched this video before I took the nozzle off and put high pressure air through it. It blew out the small piece inside the nozzle that spreads the spray horizontally. I can't find it, so LOL, I gotta buy a new nozzle. I had the same problem with the anti-backflow valve as well, so I'll need to get a T-fitting as well.
@@TightWadDIY Yes, I was able to find that small piece and put it back together. Thank you. From what I learned from taking the system apart, the part that clogs up is a anti-backflow valve. It prevents the windshield washing liquid from flowing back into the reservoir, so the liquid is already at the level of the windshield, and the flow starts almost immediately as soon as you hit the washer switch. By replacing this with a simple T, you'll just need to wait a little longer before you start to get flow onto the windshield. I used a plastic T made for slow drip irrigation, which was about $ 3 for a pack of 5.
Thanks for your video. My fluid spray is pretty much doing the same, but mine is spray just a little fluid. Hopefully, the replacement valve will fix the problem too. Where did u purchase the hose valve (3-way)? Thanks again! Jason
Did you use the “t” to bypass the valve? I’ve got a 2012 camry. Toyota said it’s the nozzle and wants $140! They tried to get about $120 for the license plate lights. I’m getting a new nozzle. Does it make a difference in using the valve that came with the car or that “t” valve? Great video.
Joseph Garcia I replaced the valve with the new T fitting. Just threw the old one away. I bet it’s the valve and not the nozzle. Stop going to the dealership! Use a local mechanic.
Hi there my swift engine light is on my mechanic says need to replace spark plugs and some pressure motor I also have engine stops running after few miles Pls suggest
I’m sure this is the same problem I’m having with my gs300. Both sprayers just stopped working. Dealer asks like $200 to fix. The parts don’t cost much. I’ll just do my self.
TightWadDIY well I destroyed 4 hood liner clips, lost one in the engine bay, and damaged 3. And nothing at all was wrong with my sprayers. Turns out the tube connecting the sprayers and junctions got disconnected. Found the tube in the fender and reconnected. Sprayers work good as new. I do recall detailing the cowl area a few months ago and my towel got caught and I yanked it out and heard a pop sound. That must have been when it got disconnected and I didn’t even realize it till I had to use my sprayers.
TightWadDIY yep, everything is working just fine. It’s a used car that she just recently bought and windshield washers is just something that a person doesn’t normally check on when they’re buying a car. The check valve was actually broke and when she would try to spray water on her windshield, the water/ windshield washer fluid would just pour at the bottom of the windshield. Some idiot had actually put duct tape over the broken check valve trying to stop the fluid from pouring out of it.

Eric, do you have periods (.) in Scotland? They work great. Here in America (and other countries too) you’ll find them usually at the end of a sentence. They make it easier to understand when you write something.
This was a perfectly simple fix. It took 5 minutes, and the sprayer is back to normal on both sides. Thanks for the video!
Glad it helped!

I drilled through the check valve, then melted some plastic into the drill hole. Essentially turns the valve into a tee.
