I once owned a Jeep Patriot for about 7 years and I hated not having a foot rest. I sold it because that was a causing a lot of issues for me. Just wish I had done it earlier. This car looks really good and I would get one if only it had a foot rest.

The aftermarket has taken care of this. Search "Jeep dead pedal"
I have one JLU Rubicon and added a foot rest. I found one and it took 10 mins to install.

SUVs are body on frame. CUVs (crossover utility vehicle) are car based unibody.
The wheel does self center and doesn't feel that light on a Wrangler. I suspect that you don't have enough caster.
Do the doors just swing open freely or does it have stoppers like regular cars?
They don't have stoppers but they are quite heavy so don't really swing open easily. Thanks for watching!
