Remember, surgical pain has an end to it. My friend had stage 4 colon cancer at age 40, metastasized to her liver. I had no hope for her, but she is now 70 years old and leads a full life. Hugs to both of you

I'm on a parallel path to you Jessica (I am 43 and diagnosed with high grade serous OC in July) and I think this is very good news. I had complete debulking surgery at MSK-Stage IV, but they were able to get everything out. My understanding is generally they proceed with surgery if they think they can get all or most of it. It is a big surgery, a little scary, and recovery has taken patience but progress has been steady. I'm still making my way through chemo. Thank you for sharing your journey so openly, it has helped me feel less alone.
Watching Brian struggle through delivering that sign off and Jessica barely managing to say “yes” instead of her “that’s definitely all I got” tagline freaking broke my heart. You guys sharing all of this DEEPLY personal stuff is a huge sacrifice and by doing it you are making an immeasurably positive impact. But you can’t pour from an empty cup, as they say. We all want you guys to put yourselves first. Don’t feel too obligated (or at all obligated) to the channel. Love you.
I just had my debulking surgery one week ago, for stage 3 ovarian cancer. I feel so relieved now. It’s a big surgery, but so necessary. I also got a chemo wash during the surgery. I was lucky did not metastasize. The recovery is slow, still having belly cramps, but it’s ok with medicine. I wish you all the best Jessica, you will be totally fine!!!.. Jessica, I believe surgery is a positive step forward! I also had surgeries for Ovarian cancer. I was uncertain going in, but surprisingly relieved once they were done. The surgeries alleviated my worries about my uterus or other ovary becoming cancerous in the future. I hope that makes sense. Brian, I too feel positive and better about this treatment option. Sounds hopeful to me! As someone who went through cancer a few years ago and came out of the very surreal experience that cancer puts you through and was 'cured' (a word my doctor even used!), I always felt, if there were options, there was hope. Your doctors definitely seem to feel they have options in your case! Lots of respect for you both and how you are documenting this and handling it all. I am sure there will be many you are helping by honestly sharing your journey and it will give them the courage to face their own experience.

I think this is a positive thing, Jessica. I was diagnosed with OC last year. My gyn onc went in and did my debulking surgery first. Total hysterectomy and removal of the tumors, then I went through five months of debilitating chemo. After a CT and pet scan, I am cancer free, thank God, and have been for over a year now. I still go in every three months for my CA-125 blood test and doctor’s appointment, but it is necessary to keep on top of everything. You can do this. Just believe and trust in God that everything is going to be okay.
I agree. If the doctors didn’t think you could beat this - they wouldn’t do the surgery. This is definitely hopeful, I will continue to send positive energy your way Jessica and Brian.
I realize that you may not be doing cartwheels, but this sounds so promising. I'm excited for you. All the best. Different set of circumstances, but my dad had a 5+hour craniotomy at age 86. Not even the neurosurgeon thought he'd get through it. I'll never forget the neurosurgeon's face at the conclusion of the procedure...when he came out to speak with my mom and I. The doctor put his hand on his head and said, "He did great." All of us were in disbelief. My dad lived into his 90's. Quality of life was excellent. You just never know. Go into this believing you'll come out the other end of this better than you are now.
My mom had an aggressive form of breast cancer and went through chemo/radiation planning for her surgery. They went in to do a lumpectomy and the tumor was completely gone even though it was visible just prior to her surgery. They did remove a few lymph nodes because it had spread. That was four years ago and she's doing very well. Miracles happen!!!!!
Stay strong. A dear friend has gone through a path similar to yours…20 years later she’s doing well. I’m a breast cancer and more recently leukemia survivor. I think it’s a good sign the doctors want to do surgery for you. It’s a lot to deal with, but it seems hopeful. ❤️
My cousin’s son had a debulking and when the surgeon went in, there was only scar tissue. I know it was a different kind of cancer, but it was unexpected and positive news. Anything’s possible!! Hang in there❤️

In the middle of a breast cancer fight right now. Chemo ended on 9/1 and I'm 5 weeks post surgery. 6 weeks of radiation starts on 11/30. I got my eyebrows and eyelashes back 2 or 3 weeks ago, and my hair is just starting to come back in now. Like other posters have commented, they would not be doing the surgery if they had no hope, so this is a GOOD thing. Stay strong and keep fighting. You're an inspiration for all of us!! 💞💕
I had a total hysterectomy in 2015. Although the cancer was confined to the uterine lining alone, they took everything to prevent the possibility of metastasis. For that I am grateful! I'm very encouraged by your diagnosis. The fact that the cancer has NOT metastasized after all this time is awesome news! it. Even if the doctors advise to remove part of your liver...it will grow back. We are truly "fearfully and wonderfully made"! You and Brian go celebrate this news.
I also had endometrial cancer that resulted in total hysterectomy. In the six years since I have had multiple episodes of vaginal bleeding, which led to more biopsies. So far the results are in my favour. Wishing you all the best outcomes too, Jessica!
From what I hear in your videos, you are doing everything you can do - being a good patient, but being proactive on your own part. Brian is doing everything he can possibly do - giving you encouragement, having your back and feeding you the most nourishing food that he can provide. You are taking care of you! Now, the doctors with their review boards are not just relying on their own capabilities, but calling in other specialists to advise them. The biggest part is worry over what everybody does not know. I think the further surgery is necessary to get more information. They will know more after that. I hope the results will lead to a definite path to follow as you travel through this. Hope seems like a little thing but in reality it is HUGE. So good the see hope in your faces. It means a great deal in recovery, when your Drs give you hope. A wonderful gift. I will continue to pray for God's hand in these situations. You are a beautiful woman!
Surgery is very VERY good news - and having had a complete oopho hysterectomy with omentum (tummy fat flap) removal for endometroid ovarian cancer I can say from experience that the relief following it getting done and getting the damn stuff out, makes the recovery not nearly as challenging as I expected and hopefully it will feel the same for you. My surgery was delayed 3 months as the tumour had caused blood clots in legs and lungs so they had to get that sorted first. It’s great, they are treating you not just managing you. 👍👍👍💐💐💐
@Shetland Sheep @Krocks in the Kitchen This sounds very similar to my diagnosis and surgeries back in 2010/11, interspersed with 6 months of Taxol Carbo chemotherapy. I too had two DVTs, caused through the sheer mass of my endometroid ovarian tumour, plus a pleural effusion. I had to have Heparin injections (shots) plus an inferior Vena Cava filter inserted prior to my first emergency surgery, to trap any clots that could have travelled to my heart/lungs/brain. I had 12.5 litres (nearly 22pints) of fluid drained from my abdomen during my first surgery - debulking hysterectomy/oophorectomy. Following histology, it was discovered that I also had endometrial carcinoma, so my MDT (multi-disciplinary team), similar to your tumour panel, decided on a second surgery to remove my cervix (which had to be left in situ during my first surgery because of complications) following the planned chemotherapy. I’m now 12 years down the road, which has been rocky at times, but Jessica and Brian, there is hope … positivity and faith is key … sending much love from the UK. ❤️❤️❤️xxx

I feel this is good news. I was treated at Mayo in Jacksonville for a gyno cancer stage 4a. The doctors at Mayo are the best. I love how they work as a team to figure out the best care for their patients. I know how difficult this journey is for the two of you but know Mayo will keeping working to figure this out. It also sounds like they want to get a visual to see where these small spots are. And if they see them, they intend to get them. Sounds like they have your best interest in mind and want to do their best to get anything they can see. My mom had this done twice. Recovery was painful, but worth it. Remember that: it was worth it. ❤

This really sounds like good news. I had an abdominal hysterectomy/oophorectomy, during which my cervix was also removed, when I was 33. It wasn’t fun, but it was totally manageable, and I’m a much bigger wooss than you are. Fingers crossed that you continue on your own unique path, defy any negative expectations, and heal better and more completely than anyone could have imagined. One step at a time, and lots of love and life along the way!

I hope the surgery is successful 🙏 My mentally and physically challenged brother was born with a hole in his heart 64 years ago. Had osteomyelitis in his leg bone when he was seven. Had diverticulitis and had surgery and wore the "bag" for several weeks. Diagnosed with testicular cancer that spread to many lymph nodes. He really suffered through the surgery and chemo. He had sores in his mouth and could not eat. Another life-saving surgery through his back. It worked! He was 42 the last time he had the surgery. He still has his port, but no more cancer at 64! I am praying for your full recovery! I would like this same success for you, too!
I'm so glad you're feeling hope. My cousin had OV and had very poor treatment with the worst outcome. I'll tell you a little story. When I was going through stage 4 breast cancer surgery (mastectomy, chemo, radio, bone marrow transplant) Olivia Newton John was diagnosed with breast cancer and had breast conserving cancer ie: they did the excision around the cancer they could see. It was done in Melbourne so very much in the Australian media. My Sydney surgeon and I discussed it and he said her cancer would return and he was sorry to say he thought she would die younger than was necessary because she hadn't had a mastectomy (this breast conserving surgery was offered to me by a different surgeon, and thank God my instinct was to get another opinion). I felt very sad when she died recently and had never forgotten what my wonderful surgeon had saidt
I have been praying for complete healing. I believe God will heal you and it definitely could happen that the cancer is gone. I will continue to pray. 🙏🏻❤️

Dear Jessica...my heart goes out to you and Brian! I am a breast cancer survivor since 2009 and I am now 66 years old. Please do not lose hope! The surgery sounds like that will give drs more answers and take out more cancer cells... A complete hysterectomy is not an easy surgery even without the OC. I know as I had one when I was 39. So recovery from it will take time and slow. I am glad they will give you a pet scan to see if you will.light up in.other areas. Keep up the greens whole foid blender smoothies. Check out Chris Beat Cancer u tube. Dr Mc dougal. Dr Brooke Goldner. Be proactive with a clean green diet for healing your body and adding foods that kill off cancer cells. Prayers for you Jessica. These times are so crazy. When the doctors look to see if cancer exists in that particular area. And the doctors can see the cancer by looking inside the body, and tell you it spread. I think they want to be certain what is going on with the cancer. I think things sound good, it looks like they are doing prevention measures. My uncle had got pancreatic cancer and he had to do surgery, and the doctors said the cancer had spread too much. He got sick in June with flu like symptoms. They did the surgery in September and said they he would die. Most the doctors will tell you straight.
What a hopeful call from the doctors. Stay positive and keep fighting this. You are amazing people and it is easy to get down at a time like this but you have a team that really is on your side and helping you to get through this.

Wow. I know it's a major abdominal surgery but also, getting in there and physically getting cancer out sounds so hopeful to me too. (I know they'll be removing more than just the cancer) These sound like really solid steps forward.

I realize that you may not be doing cartwheels, but this sounds so promising. I'm excited for you. All the best. Different set of circumstances, but my dad had a 5+hour craniotomy at age 86. Not even the neurosurgeon thought he'd get through it. I'll never forget the neurosurgeon's face at the conclusion of the procedure...when he came out to speak with my mom and I. The doctor put his hand on his head and said, "He did great." All of us were in disbelief. My dad lived into his 90's. Quality of life was excellent. You just never know. Go into this believing you'll come out the other end of this better than you are now.
My mom had an aggressive form of breast cancer and went through chemo/radiation planning for her surgery. They went in to do a lumpectomy and the tumor was completely gone even though it was visible just prior to her surgery. They did remove a few lymph nodes because it had spread. That was four years ago and she's doing very well. Miracles happen!!!!!
Stay strong. A dear friend has gone through a path similar to yours…20 years later she’s doing well. I’m a breast cancer and more recently leukemia survivor. I think it’s a good sign the doctors want to do surgery for you. It’s a lot to deal with, but it seems hopeful. ❤️
My cousin’s son had a debulking and when the surgeon went in, there was only scar tissue. I know it was a different kind of cancer, but it was unexpected and positive news. Anything’s possible!! Hang in there❤️

In the middle of a breast cancer fight right now. Chemo ended on 9/1 and I'm 5 weeks post surgery. 6 weeks of radiation starts on 11/30.
I got my eyebrows and eyelashes back 2 or 3 weeks ago, and my hair is just starting to come back in now.
Like other posters have commented, they would not be doing the surgery if they had no hope, so this is a GOOD thing. Stay strong and keep fighting. You're an inspiration for all of us!! 💞💕

I had a total hysterectomy in 2015. Although the cancer was confined to the uterine lining alone, they took everything to prevent the possibility of metastasis. For that I am grateful! I'm very encouraged by your diagnosis. The fact that the cancer has NOT metastasized after all this time is awesome news! it. Even if the doctors advise to remove part of your liver...it will grow back. We are truly "fearfully and wonderfully made"! You and Brian go celebrate this news.

I too had a total hysterectomy for endometrial cancer 15 years ago. No problems since.
I also had endometrial cancer that resulted in total hysterectomy. In the six years since I have had multiple episodes of vaginal bleeding, which led to more biopsies. So far the results are in my favour.

From what I hear in your videos, you are doing everything you can do - being a good patient, but being proactive on your own part. Brian is doing everything he can possibly do - giving you encouragement, having your back and feeding you the most nourishing food that he can provide. You are taking care of you!
Now, the doctors with their review boards are not just relying on their own capabilities, but calling in other specialists to advise them. The biggest part is worry over what everybody does not know.
I think the further surgery is necessary to get more information. They will know more after that. I hope the results will lead to a definite path to follow as you travel through this.

Hope seems like a little thing but in reality it is HUGE. So good the see hope in your faces. It means a great deal in recovery, when your Drs give you hope. A wonderful gift. I will continue to pray for God's hand in these situations. You are a beautiful woman!
Surgery is very VERY good news - and having had a complete oopho hysterectomy with omentum (tummy fat flap) removal for endometroid ovarian cancer I can say from experience that the relief following it getting done and getting the damn stuff out, makes the recovery not nearly as challenging as I expected and hopefully it will feel the same for you.
My surgery was delayed 3 months as the tumour had caused blood clots in legs and lungs so they had to get that sorted first. It’s great, they are treating you not just managing you. 👍👍👍💐💐💐

This sounds very similar to my diagnosis and surgeries back in 2010/11, interspersed with 6 months of Taxol Carbo chemotherapy. I too had two DVTs, caused through the sheer mass of my endometroid ovarian tumour, plus a pleural effusion. I had to have Heparin injections (shots) plus an inferior Vena Cava filter inserted prior to my first emergency surgery, to trap any clots that could have travelled to my heart/lungs/brain.
I had 12.5 litres (nearly 22pints) of fluid drained from my abdomen during my first surgery - debulking hysterectomy/oophorectomy. Following histology, it was discovered that I also had endometrial carcinoma, so my MDT (multi-disciplinary team), similar to your tumour panel, decided on a second surgery to remove my cervix (which had to be left in situ during my first surgery because of complications) following the planned chemotherapy.
I’m now 12 years down the road, which has been rocky at times, but Jessica and Brian, there is hope … positivity and faith is key … sending much love from the UK. ❤️❤️❤️xxx

I feel this is good news. I was treated at Mayo in Jacksonville for a gyno cancer stage 4a. The doctors at Mayo are the best. I love how they work as a team to figure out the best care for their patients. I know how difficult this journey is for the two of you but know Mayo will keeping working to figure this out. It also sounds like they want to get a visual to see where these small spots are. And if they see them, they intend to get them. Sounds like they have your best interest in mind and want to do their best to get anything they can see. My mom had this done twice. Recovery was painful, but worth it. This really sounds like good news. I had an abdominal hysterectomy/oophorectomy, during which my cervix was also removed, when I was 33. It wasn’t fun, but it was totally manageable, and I’m a much bigger wooss than you are. Fingers crossed that you continue on your own unique path, defy any negative expectations, and heal better and more completely than anyone could have imagined. One step at a time, and lots of love and life along the way!

I hope the surgery is successful 🙏 My mentally and physically challenged brother was born with a hole in his heart 64 years ago. Had osteomyelitis in his leg bone when he was seven. Had diverticulitis and had surgery and wore the "bag" for several weeks. Diagnosed with testicular cancer that spread to many lymph nodes. He really suffered through the surgery and chemo. He had sores in his mouth and could not eat. Another life-saving surgery through his back. It worked! He was 42 the last time he had the surgery. He still has his port, but no more cancer at 64! I am praying for your full recovery! I would like this same success for you, too!
I'm so glad you're feeling hope. My cousin had OV and had very poor treatment with the worst outcome. I'll tell you a little story. When I was going through stage 4 breast cancer surgery (mastectomy, chemo, radio, bone marrow transplant) Olivia Newton John was diagnosed with breast cancer and had breast conserving cancer ie: they did the excision around the cancer they could see. It was done in Melbourne so very much in the Australian media. My Sydney surgeon and I discussed it and he said her cancer would return and he was sorry to say he thought she would die younger than was necessary because she hadn't had a mastectomy (this breast conserving surgery was offered to me by a different surgeon, and thank God my instinct was to get another opinion). I felt very sad when she died recently and had never forgotten what my wonderful surgeon had saidt
I have been praying for complete healing. I believe God will heal you and it definitely could happen that the cancer is gone. I will continue to pray. 🙏🏻❤️

Dear Jessica...my heart goes out to you and Brian! I am a breast cancer survivor since 2009 and I am now 66 years old. Please do not lose hope! The surgery sounds like that will give drs more answers and take out more cancer cells... A complete hysterectomy is not an easy surgery even without the OC. I know as I had one when I was 39. So recovery from it will take time and slow. I am glad they will give you a pet scan to see if you will.light up in.other areas. Keep up the greens whole foid blender smoothies. Check out Chris Beat Cancer u tube. Dr Mc dougal. Dr Brooke Goldner. Be proactive with a clean green diet for healing your body and adding foods that kill off cancer cells. Green tea...bluberries..broccoli.

I always have myself and clients look out 3 weeks from the surgery date and see themselves healed a lot and it helps our subconscious know we’re going to heal and work towards that as well.

Prayers for you Jessica. These times are so crazy. When the doctors look to see if cancer exists in that particular area. And the doctors can see the cancer by looking inside the body, and tell you it spread. I think they want to be certain what is going on with the cancer. I think things sound good, it looks like they are doing prevention measures. My uncle had got pancreatic cancer and he had to do surgery, and the doctors said the cancer had spread too much. He got sick in June with flu like symptoms. They did the surgery in September and said they he would die. Most the doctors will tell you straight.
What a hopeful call from the doctors. Stay positive and keep fighting this. You are amazing people and it is easy to get down at a time like this but you have a team that really is on your side and helping you to get through this.

Wow. I know it's a major abdominal surgery but also, getting in there and physically getting cancer out sounds so hopeful to me too. (I know they'll be removing more than just the cancer) These sound like really solid steps forward.
