I think thats a compliment for the guy who did the work.
He's a pro, can tell by his tools.
Like his shaving knife, he made it looked easy. Great job mate.
You can really see, by the way the chap is using the foam knife, and the way he assesses the cuts, that he truly knows what he is doing. No need for fancy smanzy power tools here. Just a good eye for detail and form. =)
Dude - the new seat looks AWESOME! I have an 09 650R. I wish the rear seat design was more like to ZX6. I love your new seat! I wish that guy was in New York! Good luck with it. Hope its comfortable!
Thanks! The new seat has been great- over 10,000km with it and much more comfortable than stock. Hoping to get myself a 2010 ZX6R if/when Kawasaki decides to sell it here in Thailand.
Ride On!
really does look a lot better! amazing craftsmanship btw
Hi, Great video. Could we please use this video on our social media pages? Please let me know. Thanks.
Very nice work! Thanks for sharing your technique. I I knew more craftsmen like you.
Customizing #motorcycleseat is difficult task as if not done correctly it will look disaster. Very well explained video showing how to modify seat.
He's got the skills.... that for sure!!!... Dam that look sweet
i just love watching him do his work ^^ its fascinating
smooth handwork..really nice shaped seat for a nice bike:)
thanx for this video:)
Hi!
For me I don't have any issues with the thickness of the seat, but what bothered me was the way it slopes forward. I found this forward slant quite uncomfortable on long rides so I had the rear of the seat shaved down and 'flattened' in addition to building up the back. That's what cool about being able to customize the seat- different bikers have different needs and the stock seats can't accommodate everyone.
Ride On!
I assure you the seat does slope forward and down and it's got nothing to do with the preload (which I keep at 2 clicks off max on both my ER6n and Ninja 650R. Anyway- plenty of padding left on the seat- only took off about a half inch at the back so that I can sit flatter on the seat the way I like.
Happy Trails! Tony
It looks like he did a nice little dishing on it. It doesn't look hugely different, but making the butt area of the seat a little bit less sloped probably a huge difference in how it feels on the road.
I have a 2009 ER6n and a 2010 Ninja 650R. The seats are identical. Ride On!
I wonder if he's still there. Will swing by next week to check. I don't suppose you have images of the store front in the director's cut of your video, do you? Thanks in advance.
See the tools he was using paint can lid with holes and a hack saw blade wow what a craftsman
Truly a craftsman.
Well that's interesting.. maybe the seat is different on the 09 650R, mine doesn't slope anywhere :) I've found the Z750 to have a nasty slope.. but I'm good.
Sloping forward? That doesn't happen on mine. Do you, by any chance, have the rear preload all the way to the max? That's when I had the slope. Now that you got rid of it, your bum will get sore after 100 miles.. like 90% of 650r/er6 owners :)
Great video!
Good workmanship! Thanks!
Wow.. cool!
I've got an 09 650r, I think my only problem with the seat is its a bit too thin for me, might have to look into something like this!
Can I send you my seat to have you do this? How much would you charge? I would sure appreciate it. I have a 2009 Ninja 650R
The music is terrible, but the guy knows what he's doing. Nice finished product. If you suffer from butt burn from your bike seat, try a bead seat cover. They may not be stylish, but are the best way to deal heat and hot spots.
Is this your music. I can hear the guitar/amp noise before the tune starts leading me to think that it is an indy song. Very Very cool song at that.
nice skills. we used pneumatic sanders in the shop i worked in.
I can see how this will help as a support, but did he do anything to the part of the
seat where your ass actually touches it?! I've had no issues with the lack of back support, but find the seat itself to be too thin and too hard.
Where can I get this seat? Need one for my 07
what was the purpose of this modification? it didn't look like it improved the comfort level of the 650 seat. more for beautification purposes?
O cara é fera, tudo manual, parabens!
Bangkok, Thailand!
If you are riding an '07 I'm guessing you are NOT in Thailand as that bike was never sold here.
Ride On!
looks factory , great job
That looks much better than original 650 banana seat
can u tell me where is this place pls. is it in thailand or philippines?
An artist..
bikinnya dimana tuh gan..??
Simply wow. Sure wish I could find someone in Tijuana that could do that for cheap, but there are so many and most do garbage work.
what is the name of material you are using ...
@sixt3denied If you like the ZX6 look, you can install the catalyst tail, but that requires you to make a seat from scratch. I went through that process on my bike, but it would have been nice to know a pro like the guy in this video for the job.
Good job man!
all your video I like it.
and I suggestion you to create CD Down seat covers
ช่างไทยไม่แพ้ชาติใดในโลก
Whats the name of the song at the beginning?
man that song rocks
Nice work boy! :D
I don't want even fathom how much a similar process would cost here in the states >_< **Insert Napoleon Dynamite voice, "Luucky"
@marcnisam my '09 650R seat has a huge slope into the tank and I weigh 215.... after 75-100 miles of riding, my family jewels are smashed into the tank, and I'm done riding for the day...
Perfect!
great skillshare mate thanks!
Great work! Thanks for this video
Really Good!!
Whats that round thing for sanding and how i make one?
nice work
great job
What is this glue name
The music is not an Indy Song. It's a weak remake of "Space Age Love Song" by A Flock of Seagulls and came out in 1982.
+watto1964
find it A Flock Of Seagulls/Eleven Shadows - Space Age Love Song
btw nice song for ride along high way at night
Super, très adroit avec la lame de scie
Very nice.

The guy is a Craftsman!
@masteredwin1
The shop is on Rama 9 just past the intersection of Asoke / Ratchadapisek and Rama 9
Ride On!
VERY ACCURATE ^_^
@marcnisam I mean the overall shape. The cover is obviously different.
Can someone please give me any information on the music thats playing?
they are covers done by some female singer.. Flock of Seagulls= "Space age love song" is the last song
I love the second song music..
Nice
@oaktownpull
LOLZ! Yeah, cost me less than $20 here. If I was in the US I'd try and do it myself. There are a bunch of cool websites for DIY seat mods but can't post links in TH-cam comments... Ride ON!
Id have had the passenger seat done in green to match the bike.
nice bro....
sniffing glue for 5 minutes can make a guy feel like Amy Winehouse at her best :-/
i was startled when she said "FUCKING"...
WTF did that change?
This is the WORST song i have ever heard. Its PITIFUL. Totally wrecked my day thanks.
I dunno what that tune is- Originally I had some Hendrix but TH-cam didn't like it... :-p
I really like the fanny pack!
Anybody else in the mood for a nice Greecey donner kebab now?

nothing is disposable
nuup
Rubber cement
the guy is a craftsman indeed, an artist in foam! I used to do this kinda work 30 years ago. I think the knife is like a bread knife, try it sometime works pretty good. The holes in a paint cover top is real cool , like a surform rasp, but i like this kids creativity.
