Hey, all. Big shoutout to Stoney for the games! This is game one in a best-of-three series. Game two will be posted tomorrow :). Make sure to watch from Stoney's perspective as well. Link in the description!
Watching Indrid Casts got my casual interest but watching Stoney (and Clint) really got me into Mechabellum, the way you and Stoney explain your picks and board logic has always been great, seeing both go at it is a must watch for anyone who wants to up their game. I've watched others but both of you guys are great at explaining it.
Fun match to watch. A few interesting notes for the final round. You could have avoided using sentries as you already had a huge oil field and enemy vulcans ready to go. My initial thought was to mobile beacon that new rhino from the right edge of oil backwards a little to march leftwards. It would have pulled most of his units towards the ignited field. Wasting fire from the vulcans and storms and clumping up his remaining units there to make storms more effective. Also, you knew it was going to be a big ground-burning round and your only dedicated AA was mustangs, so buying back some late arriving wasps on the far left would have been good. Especially if they arrive around the same time as the chonky, armored rhino and rays. Looking forward to tomorrow's vid!
That is solid advice. Thanks so much for the feedback. I will 100% keep this in mind going forward. I made a few mistakes I wish I could take back that game--not having a skeleton crew of backup AA and not shielding the right side that got hit with oil. Stoney did awesome though and it was still a fun game.
Really great video! I loved the split perspective between you two and how the mind games played out-it was so engaging! Both your channels and styles are awesome. One thing I've noticed watching your games is that you sometimes make quick decisions on card drops or focus primarily on your own point of view and board state when making picks. Try slowing down and using the full time available to consider all your options. For example, you didn’t seem to give the Phoenix much thought. It’s always a good idea to first think about what’s best for your opponent and then plan accordingly for yourself. Really fun match, I hope there are more like this!
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate the kind words and feedback. When I edit the video, I do my best to make it as short as possible without cutting gameplay. A lot of times it's just me sitting at the screen weighing the mental math. I do my best to cut out those parts to speed up the video a bit. I weighed the options for a decent amount of time (about 35 seconds) and ultimately decided to go with the Rhino. My hope was that by penetrating his Vulcan line, I would be able to redirect some of the fire away from my Mustangs. It didn't up end working out though 😂
Great fun, this. Actually the most fun is what you think of his replay and vice versa. I wonder what you guys learn in the end. Thanks for the content! Always love to see a video from you pop up.
It was awesome watching it from his perspective and him thinking I was or wasn't going to do something. I did the same thing with him. Both of us were wrong about what the other person usually does 🤣 but also there were a few things we got right. He's a great player though, so even if I have a rough idea of what he wants to do, the hard part is actually stopping it. And I didn't 😅 Was still very fun though
I think the conventional wisdom of not teching into AM Mustangs if you want them to be a core portion of your DPS isn't a thing anymore. I've found that post-patch, they're capable of being co-DPS or a secondary source. If you're wondering why AM in general? I'm a potato 🥔
@@IIIJG52 Yeah, you would have to have Armor Enhancement against leveled Vulcans with Scorch, otherwise they'd get melted like butter on a hot pan. That was kind of my idea with the Rhino I took. Perhaps I should have added a couple.
@@WhoopedGG With the Expert Marksmen on the field, unleveled or even lvl 2 rhinos wouldnt do much. The high level one barely got in to kill the lvl 1 rhino. From what my measly 1500 MMR brain can make of it, the main problem seemed to be chaff clear. You had the damage, but it took you too long to actually get it on the vulcans ?
@@IIIJG52 Hmm. It's a good question. In my mind, I think I would have been okay if I properly shielded the right side + had 2 Marksman. I think losing that right side so early cost me pretty badly. I could be mistaken though. I accidently deleted the replay so it's not something I can check unfortunately.

I like watching Clint, Stoney, and Amaroq for casting. Lots of great insight. It was really cool watching this game from Stoney's perspective.

@ ah nice man, appreciate the thought you put into making the videos engaging for us. Here’s to more Mechabellum madness :D

You guys are both great. Was really nice to hear and see both perspectives. Cheers.
Thanks, Squee!!
I enjoy your videos mate, thank you!
Thanks for the support!
Nice Showmatch :)
Great game and clear explanation!
Not putting crawlers in the oil on round 6 was a missed opportunity :P
I find mustang starts to be quiet challenging. Let's see what you do with it.
Whooped, can you explain your R7 Mustang anti-missile on your leveled mustangs?

Protecting Mustangs against Vulcans with Upgrades is hard.
Maybe Steelballs Level 2 could've helped. Or Sledgehammers?
I think both of those are good ideas
Only if you run armor. Otherwise the vulcans just kill them too quickly with the scorch and especially with levels right ?
