Emphasis on the first syllable... NAT-chez. This is the old Trace Town Shopping Centre. The portion with the brick archways (yogurt shop) was originally a Sears. Part of it has since been torn down. On the other end in the grassy field was a free standing movie theater, Trace Town Twin Cinema.

Wow, if it wasn't so far south, I'd say it used to have an Ames in it. Bricks, fake lantern lights, mid-70's? Bizarre that the Post Office and nail place are still functioning while the rest of the center falls down around them.

4:28 I agree! Those ceiling tiles ether end up warping or end up turning into mush when water hits them. Depending on the material of course.

Re: the rubber band. You're not asking the important question. You asked how it hadn't snapped.
How the actual hell did it get there in the first place? That's a *solid column*.

Perhaps it's a loooong ziptie and we just never saw the other side where it clasped? Sort of looks like that...

Man Sal, I can't wait to see the Natchez Mall video. A few years ago, I had a trip planned to go there on the way back to Houston after our time spent in New Orleans. The Saturday night before we were planning on heading out, I noticed an issue with a tire that needed replacement A.S.A.P. So we had to wait for one of the few tire shops (Sears Clearview Mall) open on Sunday to get the tire replaced. It took about half a day out of my schedule due to the delay so it killed the plan. We just headed back to Houston without taking the trip to Natchez. Since then, the stars have yet to align to make the trip again.

Thanks, Sal. I found this an oddly comforting mix of desolation and nostalgia. I think it's the age of the plaza. It seemed like the bricks had stories to tell. Not to mention, how creepy would it be as a kid to be taken to that pediatrician's office in this run-down dump?

It's a Green Anole, and you were pretty good with the name. It's Nat-chez. Cool video, there's lot of places in the south like this. Check out Yazoo City, Ms or Mccomb area.

Stray cats, dogs, and people. Those were geckos. Those ceiling tiles outside is like carpeting the parking lot.

It doesn't look like a typical mall. And looks like someone is taking care of those shrubs.
