I started 4/13. I had met Evan in 2017 and ran into him on the AT somewhere before Damascus. Love you. Kinda makes me a little sad that 2018 seems so long ago.
Im glad to see there is people on the trail who are my age, im 31 and ive noticed an increase of people my age on the trail so thats good. That way when I start my Thru-hike I will not feel like an outcast, I don't know how I would feel hiking with people who are way older than me who probably want to be alone, kinda an awkward situation. BTW those military guys are US ARMY 101st Air Assault out of Fort Benning, Georgia. they run ops every week jumping from 5,000 AGL in sticks of 12.
I remember watching a few of these videos a looooong time ago. Finally i found them again. Im going to hike the whole AT but not in one single shot. I read a lot of mixed answers online but do you know if dogs are allowed on the trail? If they stay on a leash? I took both my dogs up bald mountain about a year ago and it was probably the best view ive seen from a mountain. The dogs loved it too and spotted many deer on the way up and down.
