I think I actually remember seeing a lottery show from Michigan like this. At one point, the signals from the stations in Detroit would be picked up in my hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario. I think the show that I saw was the Michigan Megabucks Lottery Giveaway. We don't pick up the stations from Detroit anymore though. That changed a few years back when they were replaced by the ones from Minneapolis/St. Paul, which makes more sense considering it's a lot closer.
Ah Lordy! I grew up in N. Oakland county and remember this TrainWreck of a show!! I love the dour faces as contestants are introduced...like they're in prison. 'Hobbies include watching Old Westerns on TV'.. BTW Chuck Gaidica (sp) is like 5 foot nothing. You can put him in yer pocket.
I'm glad when the show became Megabucks Giveaway that they changed the format of the last round from going around the board in sequential order to going from lowest score to highest score. Makes it more exciting. And Ronald made the right decision in the end by taking the car as it was mathematically impossible for him to win the game.
I remember when I was a kid I was OBSESSED with finding the song that played during the Super Lotto segment.
I remember watching this show every week

I was on the show a couple of times.
Original Air Date--March 25, 1989. This would be, if my calculations are correct, the show's ninth episode, as it debuted on January 28, 1989.
Love how the card behind the "E" kept coming up upside-down. Super Lotto? Barely remember that!
