Elk Babies are called Calves and are spotted to break up their color pattern, Here in Colorado bears have really put a hurt on the Fawn and Calf crops. Glad I found your channel. It is cool to see my backyard through someone else's perspective.
Whoa ! What an episode. Love how you always find a way to stay in a positive mindset even on sketch days. That skill is pretty impressive. Well done Goob. Enjoy those zeros and beers. Peace and happy trails.
19:18 You had me going there. I thought you were going to bail again. Great job. You did a lot of things right. Always take the highest possible route. The sun melts the snow from the top down. So the higher up you go the less snow you have to deal with. The trail can still be sketchy, but you have less snow.
Tough trail, Tough hiker. Great video and views. Good job picking yourself up and moving forward after your fall. Congrats on getting to town. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!
@@jimburg621 What's up with him? According to The Trek he has been making TH-cam hiking videos since 2017, but his channel is less then a year old. Does he have another channel or something?
So happy you made it to town. A little drunk is a good thing sometimes. I love your determination but it also scares me when I watch your videos. I keep in mind that you upload weeks later and so you must’ve made it through and be OK otherwise we wouldn’t be seeing the video. I hope you’re healing.
At least here in the NE, mama deer leave their babies hidden and alone for several days. They have no scent and are safer that way. She checks on them to nurse several times and moves them once a day. I looked it up. Elk do the same. Be careful!! Also, if you can find it, Aloe is great for sunburn.
Holy smack what a tough day!! I'm so sorry to hear you fell glad you're taken a few days to recover. Pagosa does have free hot springs could help your body. Daybreak is best you're usually alone and catch sunrise!! Healing energy for you. Enjoy the downtime!
I am glad you made it to town in one piece. Blowdowns always make me a little nervous - so easy to get a really bad cut navigating them. I knew someone who cut an artery that way and nearly died on trail. Enjoy your zeros!
What you are seeing are coyotes. Wolves have been out of Colorado for probably 80 years. There was a recent pack spotted in North West Co that was the first in the state since about 1940 but nothing in the South. The deer you are seeing are Mule Deer. Anyway Keep on keeping on. You have some grit and it's served you well when you need it. Take it easy for a while and recharge brother. Depending on which route you pick things will get a little easier from here on out.
@@goobsadventures Then that would be the first in southern colorado in almost a 100 years and an amazing discovery man. If you can get that video to a park ranger they would be extremely interested in it. As would many conservationist. another option is you may have seen a wolverine but those are very rare and the chances of seeing more than one in different locations are even rarer.
When the trail path is all covered in snow like that. How do you determine the correct way? By footsteps of other people? Or do you follow the route electronically as well? Have a good rest!

Beers well and truly earned 🍻

Wow what a day! I tell my clients that I book anywhere there is snow/ice to pack sunscreen! We got sunburned in Alaska even.

Amazing trail. Bravo !
Oh man, you earned those beers. Enjoy and be careful. Ps: I checked online and baby elk also have spots.
Wow, still pretty damn rough in spots. Well earned rest in Pagosa!
Oh, my word! That was frightening. I’m glad you’re taking a double zero. Well-deserved. Godspeed.
Night Crawler mentioned your channel. I click on and it starts with some night crawlin! Beautiful place, be safe.
I started watching Night Crawler after Goob mentioned him. He is an interesting guy. The two channels complement each other nicely.
@@MaxZomboni I started watching NC when he was going to hike the AT barefoot..... that lasted about a quick minute, LOL.

Wow, way to power through a difficult section! Enjoy those zeros and heal quickly.

You made it!! Enjoy your recovery time in Pagosa! Keep on trekking!
Stay safe out there. Enjoy your 0's!

Well, made it to Elwood. If you find Jake, you're set!
Yep, I found them both!

Interesting. I’m still 99% sure what I’m seeing is evidence of wolves, especially the black one I got on film.

Your killing it!
So Happy I choose to go sobo on all my long trails. Sobo 6/7! See you down the trail.
Stop me to say hi if you see me!
Of course I will! Happy hiking brotha
Good place for a "0"!!

I try to follow the tracks of those that came ahead of me and back it up with FarOut.
Date?
I don't think he ever gives dates, but his videos appear to be about a week to ten days behind.
My videos are on a 2 week delay.
Incredible. This is not a trail for old men. If I do something I think it will be the AT..😂
Glad you weren’t seriously injured, but it’s gone hurt for a while! Lots of rest and you’ll be on the mend!!! Take care!!!
