Skyrim 100% Maximized Legendary Playthrough - 484. Exploring the Sea of Ghosts

  • We begin by finishing up what was interrupted last time, namely exploring the tops of the glaciers to the southeast of Winterhold. We've already outlined the area with the coastline and the road, so it's just a matter of filling in the middle down to around Journeyman's Nook. In doing so we come across the secondary location Hunter's Camp: Glacier's Edge, where a long frozen skeleton and a strongbox are the only contents of a couple of tents on the glacier.
    With that done we can begin the final leg of exploring Winterhold, which is all the islands out in the Sea of Ghosts. Some of these we've explored already, but a lot remains to be done. We start by traveling to the large island to the west of Yngvild, as I thought we had not visited it yet, but some already-harvested Spiky Grass and ore veins show that we have indeed. As for the island of Yngvild itself, we explored all of it and its skerries when we visisted Hela's Folly as part of a Dark Brotherhood contract.
    We work our way eastward through some tiny islands, and at last we arrive at the primary location Pilgrim's Trench. The action here is all underwater, as there are several shipwrecks below the surface - although only one of them has anything of consequence in it.
    To the east of this is the island of Ysgramor's Tomb. Now of course we cleared the Tomb as part of the Companion's questline, and we've also visited the Shrine of Talos: Ilas-Tei's Last Stand just to the north as well to prevent problems with Ilas-Tei's body despawning, but we have yet to make a thorough exploration of the island, so we do it now. Once that's done there's another smaller island just to the north of it we visit, and with that we hit the hour mark and cut for the day. There are still a lot more islands to the east, and we'll pick up with them next time.
