musicf3b I think nephology, aerology, or aeronomy are close to what you’re looking for. Personally, I would love if we could make a term using caelum, sky (or heaven) in Latin, as a base for a word meaning sky geography. caelumgraphy? Caelumology?

luffy ringing the bell is one of those early huge one piece memories you won't forget..so satisfying....so epic...like when he makes zoro his fist mate and zoro calls him captain, when he made arlong park fall calling nami his nakama, calling for chopper to go go after protecting his flag, or beating crocodile and saving robin , or calling out to her to say she wants to live, beating lucci or when he screams in pain for his comrades when they are seperated on sabaody by kuma, or when he uses conquerors haki vs the boa sisters, or him losing his mind over aces death both when he cries in pain and freezes and when he starts wrecking the surrounding area of amazon lilly, or seeing him own a pacifista post timeskip, or him one shoting hody, meeting sabo, beating doffy, or taking the pounding vs sanji saying he will starve to death without his cook and wait for his return...those moments you never forget from luffy ...epic times...

arent Shypeans a specific race of sky people, just like The Shandians and Birkans and weren't all their home islands named for the race of sky people who lived? so wouldn't it make sense its called Skypea because the Skypean's live there? just like like the Birkan come from Birka, and the Shandians come from Shandia? and lets not forget Marejois and the white white sea are on the same altitude, connection, most definitely

I’ve been watching a lot of Skypiea TH-cam clips recently. Man, the Skypiea ARC was really damn good. Especially back when it came out. Makes me want to go back and rewatch that ARC again. Honestly, makes me want to rewatch ALL of One Piece again. Anyway, GREAT video as usual, #Tekking! #OnePiece

I’ve been waiting all day for a tekking video
about the knock up stream: i remember the explanation being that the caverns a very hot (magma and all that) and the temperatur dif causes the explosion (because the water expands so fast), so maybe they happen alot because jaya might be a volcanic island? also i remember ganfal saying that it's only a theory (hypothisis technically) so it might be something else entirely
Think about the Mount Everest Matt, it is 8000 meters tall and its "climbable" without taking in consideration the air's density and also the temperature.
By climbing the Everest you are going to be able to reach the white sea.

Climbing is a very intense activity. When just doing nothing you can go to around 10.000 meters and still breathe without much issue. It's the altitude maintained by airliners when pressure goes away.
First of all, kudos on the research, but still you got few things wrong.
What happens is that Air pocket form in the ocean floor around Jaya (which is an actual thing, air pockets form from natural gasses, C02 and decomposing organic matter), but in this case, *they are very close to Magma veins* so if the air pockets start leaking water into them, the water gets boiled into steam which creates pressure and *THAT* is what explodes.
The conclusion is that Jaya while not volcanic island itself, is surrounded by lava veins that create the air pockets and make them explode.
As for Sanji Sky-walking to the White-White sea, remember you can *Go To The Moon* using regular balloons. If there was weak air pressure there the balloons wouldn't work

@@femka Actually when they first entered skypiea, Luffy and co were unable to fight at full potential because they hadn't adjusted to the air pressure (they got used to it soon after however)
It seems that the air pressure doesn't drop as fast as it does in real life or that it doesn't drop after reaching a certain height, otherwise the balloons would have popped before they could make it.
I think at least part of the sky walking/breathing in that high is due to the size of the planet One Piece is set on. I swear I remember seeing somewhere that One Piece is set on a planet a decent size bigger than our own (I want to say it said it was about the size of Neptune or Uranus) and that could lead to larger layers of atmosphere and therefore the air pressure stays higher and somewhat breathable at those insane altitudes.
Oggy 5000 It wasn't the air pressure that weakened them, it was the concentration of oxygen, very different things.
Tekking I’d like to say you are the only reviewer who puts great quality and passion into your videos that I appreciate it I don’t even watch ONE PIECE but I’ve learned so much about the show from this channel

Oda with his creativity in this arc was unreal, Dials and Cloud, two forms of technology the people living there developed, simply fascinating.
Geysers, Tekking, geysers is a better explanation - caverns that are constantly filled with water, which comes to a boiling temperature, builds-up vapor and shoots out like a water gun...
maybe the trees on Angel Beach were originally seeds from the trees of the Upper Yard

Kivu is the name of the eastern province in DR Congo which are divided into 2 official districts of the northern and southern districts ..... also a lake in the region where I was born was named after the province. it's good to hear tekking101 bring it up in a OP geografy is everything video's... if I could give awards for these TH-cam anime reviews video's.... Tekking would get most of em. his style, his jokes, his approach are just kanpeki.. hands down

My immediate thought when hearing summit of High West is that it's a place in the West Blue. It might just be a really really tall mountain. We have mountains here on Earth that reach over 7000k (into the White Sea), so it seems probable there'd be places like that in the One Piece world that would touch the White Sea.

28:07 Kinda' reminds me of scaphism, a torture method used by ancient Persians where they covered and fed you with milk and honey (to the point where you start having diarrhea) and you're left out on to boats facing each other and tied to each other (or probably a log) with your limbs and head exposed. They'd leave this vessel in a swamp where you'll get feasted on by insects, while you're having diarrhea. They do this everyday to the torture victim and the longest recorded one lasted for 17 consecutive days. Anyways nice vid you got there as always
There have been several calculations saying that compressing air to jump with like geppo or sky walk would release enough energy to mimic an atomic bomb because the air just isn't thick enough to bounce back with enough force without incredible consequences. But if the air were thicker in One Piece than it is in our world, that would both make sky walk more believable and explain how people can breathe on sky islands, the troposphere could be thicker. This could also explain why giant creatures like giants and dinosaurs exist, things like 12 m centipedes and dinner plate-sized spiders have (pre-)historically survived, but only in high oxygen environments (look up the cenozoic era really cool). so the large creatures in One Piece, the monstrously higher strength cap (more pressure from above to train in like DBZ gravity chambers and more fuel to burn), and how an atmosphere could be thick enough for balloons and propeller fueled flight to make it to an orbiting body like the moon.
true the atmosphere gets thinner the further up you go but it would still be thick in skypeia or it would not be breathable also the atmosphere in one piece reaches past the moon as well.

Given how unknown sky islands are in the first half of the grand line I would guess that High West is an island(likely volcanic similar to Hawaii) located in the new world, if it were anywhere in the any of 4 blues it would be fairly common knowledge and the red line would likely have near zero use that Ganfall would have been able to claim being used with apparently some regularity.

Actually limnic eruptions, which are the release of carbon dioxide or methane bubbles under the lake or sea floor, can cause ships to lose buoyancy and sink as well as tsunamis and suffocation of land and sea life, but they couldn't cause a phenomenon comparable to the Knockup Stream. Also once the gas is released it can take decades for enough gas to get trapped again and break out. So it's highly unlikely that this is actually a limnic eruption.
What it could be is a geyser, a jet of water propelled straight up from a crack in the earth in which water has been explosively evaporated by geothermal heat. These jets exist in many areas with high volcanic activity including Japan, can reach astonishing heights and sizes and are known to erupt in regular intervals. #GeographyIsEverything
The thing about Lithmic eruptions though is that they don't go very high. Carbon dioxide is heavier than air and methane is only slightly lighter than air. as soon as it escapes the water it loses most of it's power and sinks back down.
@Tekking101 Hello there, I want to share some thoughts with you. The Skypiea topic made me realize again, why OP is so different and amazing in especially one aspect: World building. I can't think of a similar masterpiece in that sort, while it only got more and more over the years (I am aware that Oda planned some things ahead of time and implemented world building even in the early manga) but I get the feeling that it increased in importance over the year to the point where we are now with a giant active world and multiple plot threads. My point now is, that all of this was a tradeoff. While the world was getting more elaborated the depth of the main Strawhatcrew (in particular them) decreased. I was just watching the old Drum Arc where Chopper had all those cool abilities, 7 different transformations (brain point!) on top of his medical knowledge plus the ideology he took over from Dr. Hiruluk. All that's left after the timeskip is sumo-point and the occasional medical advise here and there, if he gets some (fighting) screen time at all. And you can observe similar developements with the rest of the crew aswell. I think that it's natural or understandable at least, but wow, seeing those old episodes really made me wonder..

Theory mode: The "Summit of High West " is located above Elbaf. Giant Jack (The Giant Vine in the Sky Islands) originates in Elbaf and latches onto sky islands as it moves across the sky.
Giants are the danger reaching the sky, not the trip itself.

You might not be able to get UP on a sky island with the arts, but certainly survive a fall from there. Just break the fall slowly once you reach the lower atmosphere, like a parachute below your feet.
I've always seen the Knockup Stream as a giant geyser. Maybe similar to a volcano, but just with water. Might also have some seastone in there somewhere to cause this.
That many eruptions in a single area makes me think of extra vents around a geyser. perhaps Jaya will eventually be launched up as well by a main geyser?
I think it occurs in other places however it occurs more commonly around Jaya then most people. Also the explanation was Cricket’s theory for all we know it could be Uranus. Even if it had real life inspiration. Also it could just have a large amount of underwater volcanoes there that are forming the caves.

Flamingo mentioned that at the end of Punk Hazard.
The sky road isnt a path to the sky islands. It's a technique doflamingo uses. He attaches his strings to the bottom of clouds. In theory, you can use that to get to a sky island, but as it's a devil fruit ability, it's not one everyone can take

Krvys it's both impressions. It wasn't clear that it is a technique or a road. Doflamingo said something like, someone took the Sky Road down. And it seems like he would be faster at Punk Hazard if the Sky Road wasn't destroyed or something else.
A very short time after Punk Hazard we hear about Bellamy and his raid in Skypiea. (I read it in the German translation)
I think the timing to mention a "Sky Road", a road which can be interrupted, shortly before Skypiea is mentioned after a very long time, is more than a coincidence. Also, we don't know when and how Bellamy reached Skypiea

Summit of High West? My bet would be on Elbaph. Everything on that island is huge and the locals and wildlife would be hard to contend with. Plus it would be a great way to introduce the World Tree into the world of One Piece.
Planet one pice has been made into a machine. Jiya knock up stream is just an exhaust for it.
Good point about those caverns, but what I want to know is what about that hole under Ennys Lobby.
The ku de burst could not send the sunny up high enough. The ku de burst launches you 1 km or 1,000 meters. And the White-Sea is 7,000 meters above se-level, or 7 km.
