    I'd love more menopause, perimenopause, and related content. Like bringing derms to discuss what happens to our skin and hair etc as our bodies change. I'm in my 30's and the more I know the better prepared I am for my health and beauty future.

      Fully agree with you. It would be great to have a video or two on what can come when entering, going through and coming out of the menopause and how to build a routine to help manage what can come up.

    Naomi was such a breath of fresh air. Something about her just radiates grace and I love how she’s so open about a subject many women thing is taboo. Good for her! 🫶🏼

    We do need more people speaking openly about menopause, I am going through it right now and is kind of hard to find women sharing their own experience 😢❤❤

      I am in my mid-30s, so I see it on the horizon. I wish more people would talk about it because i'd also like to hear what to expect. It's so refreshing to see a celeb talk about it because I feel it's so hush hush.

    I learned from my pelvic floor therapist how important vag moisturizing, estradiol cream and lube is when your into peri/menopause. If you don’t have those changes down there, it would probably be swampy 😂 she gave me several samples and it does make a difference. When women age they can also get UTI from dry internal skin of vagina which the estradiol cream helps with.

    A moisturizer specifically formulated for vaginal use is super different than applying traditional moisturizer. Even your vaginal estrogen or testosterone creams are a moisturizer base w active ingredient. Incredibly helpful if your dryness leads to irritation, tearing or even sores. Yes intimate activity can become painful ,but so can wearing jeans, workout clothes etc. I've not tried her product but having such in the mainstream market place seems like a good thing to me.

    I think we don't talk to our kids about menopause because it is incredibly personal and a trying time. We don't share our martial, work , financial problems or other big concerns and stressors in detail with them. That is for our friends , siblings etc. I think we are trying to be there rock and not over share . Not burden our children.
    It is something to visit and have conversations around once they are in mid 20s or so though.
    I wish I would have known my moms journey. She passed away when I was 34 so I'll never know. It can be a very lonely time. Esp when through perimenopause you are asking drs ? And seeking help for this or that and have no clue it is all perimenopausal stuff. They do not tell you or seem to know.

    • @Mixedmakeup

    I really appreciate seeing Naomi’s skincare line and routine. Even though I’m not close to menopause, I have very sensitive skin and think I’d like to try.
    My PSA: my skin started freaking out and I had these red bumps that appeared like a reaction or heat rash (I have history of rosacea but no outbreaks in years). I knew better than to strip my skin with anti acne products and it was over the weekend and I couldn’t book a Derm appointment for weeks. I called my cousin who’s a doctor in Rio de Janeiro via video so she could examine my skin. She told me to buy potassium permanganate and dilute it until it’s light pink, apply it to affected areas. My skin is literally perfect, which is important because I don’t wear makeup.

    I totally agree about retinol/tretinoin affecting your skin differently. I only used tretinoin for maybe 2 years started at 49 (been in menopause since early 40’s). I slowly worked my way up to 0.5 and did great, then my skin because so sensitive I had to keep decreasing the % and frequency and eventually had to stop. I actually started using Naturium retinaldehyde 0.5 and it’s done awesome! Thanks for the video, you look gorgeous!

    • @twilit
      @twilit ปีที่แล้ว

      sounds like your skin became sensitized to it. i buffer mine with moisturizer and it helps but retinols are a great option from what i’ve read just takes longer to see results but much gentler

  • @bodikah
    @bodikah ปีที่แล้ว +4

    On moisturising down there, my mother who is in her 70s has been open with me about needing to moisturise the area because of the lack of discharge when entering menopause which leads to painful skin cracking, at least on her part. So, yeah. Naomi Watts' Vag of Honour makes sense 😅.

    Hi! I think that we shouldn’t use Ponds/ Porcelana/ Palmer’s on the vagina. However in this case, since the whole line is based on menopausal effects, perhaps the cream is appropriate. Could you review the ingredients, please? Thanks!

    Ty Susan for reviewing Naomi video
    Ladies always do not have to be older to go thru menopause. Health reasons (many!!!) can bring on menopause when you are young. Nice to know that Naomi is aware of whats happening to her body e shares that.
    Susan, you look sooo gorgeous as always!
    Ty again Susan, this is a great share video…for many, nope, all ages. 💐💐🥰x

    I'm adopted and my mom was already menopausal by the time I was adopted. I used to look through her bathroom drawers for skincare back when I was too young to buy it myself, and I found a bottle of KY jelly but I just figured it's because it gets drier down there after menopause lol. I was not expecting Naomi to pull out a lubricant

    I had a full hysterectomy and ovaries removed that put me on instant menopause at 35 and my vagina was so dry it was painful.... like walking hurt ... wiping after I peed hurt... I would cry... I couldn't have sex... I'm 38 now and sex is still painful... I have to fully meditate to prep myself if I want to... I have to really lube myself up... I used moisturizer on my vagina so I could be comfortable the first 2 years... my obgyn didn't prepare me for menopause before my surgery 😢 when i say dry... I mean dry like the desert 🏜

    So if a woman going through menopause finds their skin is drier, just use products that
    better moisturize the skin. Women are all different and experience menopause differently. I have skin on the dry side and I didn't experience any changes with my skin, I've used Retin-A for 20 years. If you skin changes, change your products accordingly. A line for menopausal skin is not a one size fits all, to me at least.

    I would use a prescription estrogen lotion/creme as many women in menopause use. This is perfectly safe and provides moisture and has other health benefits as well.

    I’m Australian and I love love Naomi Watts she is sooo authentic talented and beautiful. I have to say I’ve watched your videos and even bought some of your products…but absolutely hated your critique of our beautiful Naomi in this video!
    It surprised me that you did this after the controversy of you with your lack of honesty with being associated to your brand … this just shows you are not someone I personally consider AUTHENTIC! I would of never thought you would criticise anyone after what you did …?

    I really hope u see this! You should in the future make some kind of product that incorporates kojic dipalmitate for brightening dark spots like hyperpigmentation etc 😭 and look into making a cream that has colloidal oatmeal for people with eczema...omg that would be a god send ❤️ U might even give Aveeno a run for it’s money lol

    I’m glad she is speaking of menopause and how our skin changes. But it’s not just that we don’t speak of menopause, we don’t talk about beauty as it relates to older women. The conversation is about young people and looking younger. Influencers are on the younger side too.

    Wow now Naomi Watts also has her own skincare line? Celebrities nowadays are really jumping onto this trend to earn lots of money...Scarlett Johansson has her line, Brad Pitt has hi line etc etc. I bet it gives them lots of fortune relatively easily, considering how Rihanna became the only female billionaire singer with her beauty line and recently Selena Gomez embarked on the similar line and her net worth drastically jumped to like US$6M... It's entertaining to some extent to see celebrities coming up with their line (or rather just "endorse" their names only) but hope to see this trend slowing down...Too much fillers and mark-up pricing.
