Usually it depends on lvl. the higher the lvl u are the less coins and exp you get.
when you are going to change animal on the top right you can stats in the stats u can see which animal is stronger.

Yea shark is good speed and attack area that's why I use shark but I don't have octopus🦈 try some boss glitchs you can get coin fast
