Could anyone give me some advice please? Im planning a trip in March 2024. Obviously I will book my flight first and accomodations. I was planning a week in Bangkok and a week in Pattaya. do i need to fill out a visa application and send it somewhere? or just hand carry with me in the airport. I have a new passport. I just want to be sure Im completing the correct documents before I go. Thank you so much! any advice on places to stay in Bangkok and Pattaya would be helpful. Which is better B or P?
@hm1928 - what country are you coming from? Some countries like the USA, you do not need a visa. Americans can stay 30 days in Thailand without a visa.

@@hm1928 - I'm from SoCal too! $3000 USD is more than enough for two weeks!! $3K USD is equivalent to $5K in Thailand. On the average, Thailand is 40% cheaper compared to the US. Last month, I stayed in Thailand for one month and I only spent $2000 USD. This doesn't include my plane ticket and condo. You'll have a blast with $3K for two weeks! There are some expats in Thailand who live off $1K USD per month. This gives you an idea of how rich you are with $3K to spend in two weeks.

I’m just looking for a 3 night stay in Pattaya for the tail end of my trip. I want a rooftop pool with a good breakfast. Any ideas? Also, I have to book one night in Bangkok (haha….isn’t there a song from the 80’s with the same title?) for my last day before I fly back home : ( I’m open to any suggestions. To give you an idea of how much your $3K USD can last in Thailand. Here is the cost of living for the average non-party animal expat in Thailand per month. $500 condo rent, $70 electricity, $6 water, $15 wifi, $20 mobile phone, $100 transportation (train,taxi, rideshare), $100 groceries/snacks, $400 dining out everyday Thai food, $60 household supplies, $100 shopping, $100 misc unexpected expense, $250 travel within Thailand...$1,726 per month. Of course, this is more or less, depending on your spending habits. If you eat Western food, it will be more expensive. If you have a Thai girlfriend, it will be more expensive. There are nice condos you can rent for $300 to $400 per month but they will be outside of the touristy areas. There is no way you can live in California for under $2K that includes monthly travel!
Philippines had a lot more bars before and when you are a female travelling abroad were mostly labeled as prostitutes. Moeso, the international immigration officers from the other countries would premarturely label Filipinas as prostitutes. Thailand is just going into this cycle of being labeled as such.
