- Born in raised in Nashville, Gabe Lee grew up exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park with his family. We met up with him on one of the park’s trails, where he performed his song “Drink the River” from his latest album and shared why the national park has a special place in his heart.

I just got back from a nice time in the wilderness in the Sedona, AZ, area. And I also have been to the Great Smoky Mountains area and remember being mesmerized by the lush greenery and expanse. These places, in all their variety and diversity, are the true gifts we need to live by. I appreciate the talent and skills of these artists to be able to make us feel as if they are speaking our hearts and transporting us to a different place through their music. Such beautiful music can only come from inspiration from something beautiful and divine. National Parks are necessary for that reason, to reinforce that life is beautiful, life is simple, life is living in the moment and life is honest when we are as close to the natural world as possible. Thank you for your efforts in protecting our precious resources and for bringing these wonderful efforts by artists to us.
Absolutely loved the song and Gabe singing it in the Great Smokies!! I have a house on the NC side of the Smokies and I cherish every day that I visit here! This is definitely paradise! Gabe’s message is this video and his fantastic song make it that much better! I LOVE to see young people with talent expressing the appreciation of our park! I tell everyone if you like clean air, lots of tress, and gorgeous rivers than the Great Smokies Mountains National Park is the place to be: just respect her always! NPCA …love you too!

I LOVE Great Smokies Mountains National Park. Beautiful song, Gabe. I typically stay on the Cherokee NC side but hike everyday of my vacation in the park even on the App Trail a little. I see the lots of elk also. Beautiful, fun place always.
