Studio One - Moving Sound Sets to another hard disk

  • Studio One comes with a collection of audio loops and software instruments. The files associated with this are organized into so-called Sound Sets. How many Sound Sets you get depends on the version of Studio One you have.
    By default, the Sound Sets are stored on the system drive but at some point, for some reason, you might want to move these files to another location on your computer or to an external location.
    This video is about how to move the sound sets and also about some things you should take into consideration before doing so.

    That's solid information. I also keep all the project/song files on a separate hard drive.

      Supercy Yea actually vary. One of the few lol. Its not that hard to learn. But stuff like this, whew. I have to download now. Full version into every drive. Think it should work just stick samples in all in same areas? Another I get iffy on is (only two now) I won't download, 3rd parties. Should I stick those files for a synth program almost (which has waves/samples for synth, and VST . Do I spit up a plugin? Most basic stuff is the stuff you can't find. I've never seen a video so detailed yet still not clogged. You should be a speaker or teacher of this. I try and show people stuff, I can't get it across?

    Hey, thanks for this help. Entertaining as well :) Do you recommend moving 'songs/projects/presets' to the same external drive as the sound sets? Or does that start to negate the benefits?

    Hahaha, I just had to wipe my PC after completely breaking my Studio One. Filled my SSD, moved loads of files to free up space, lost my pathways for sound sets, broke the thang. Reinstalling a days worth of downloads as I type. This better work! 🤣😂😩

  • @BlueTransAm83
    @BlueTransAm83 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yea I'm getting a 3 drive PC. I'm thinking, how do I install? Will it read VSTs from drive 2, etc, etc. S1 I want on my main SSD drive (OS drive) 2 is 7200 2gig 3rd is 7200 1gig. I was like, ugh. How will it get to S1?

    • @SupercyMusic
      @SupercyMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Arvind,
      Obviously you can download the soundsets from the Presonus website. Once you've done that you need to tell Studio One where the soundsets are stored on your computer (as shown in the video from 7:20).
      This should solve this issue for you.

    Can we get a vocal template

    • @SupercyMusic
      @SupercyMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Derrick, I'm not really sure what you mean.
      Are you asking Presonus to provide us with a template optimized for vocals, or are you asking me if it is possible to create a template like that?
      Anyway, you can setup Studio One anyway you want of course and then make it into a template.

    You should not have samples and loops. If you want to make music use real instruments. Using samples and loops is not music.
