- They say, "Today is victory over yourself of yesterday." No one knows this better than Espio. Having spent a toilsome four years in the company of monsters, the stalwart shinobi has attained strength he otherwise thought impossible. In a one-on-one with Zavok to claim leadership of the Deadly Seven, Espio prevailed but defied corruption in what became a hollow victory for the red devil.
The passing weeks blur as Espio continues to quietly hone his skills. But now, his conclusive trial begins-a deadly decathlon. A moral entanglement will complicate matters, enabling a vixen to exploit and derail our intrepid reptile. For the sake of the innocent, it's time for Espio to face his demons.

The comic was fantastic, I loved the artwork and just, the writing was top-notch.
The webcomic was great, it delved into both Zeena and Espio’s characters and built their dynamic well
I can’t help but wonder how Zeena used to be before she lost her horn and if that was what made her adopt that superiority complex that Espio so throughly deconstructed during part 2
Alternatively it could have been that attitude and her refusing to actually hone her skills that lead to her losing her horn and what Espio said might have been exactly the wake up call she needed

I've been really looking at Zeena's design for the first time ever and what I thought was a sweater and pants was just her skin the whole time. I will never be able to look at her the same way ever again.

Now imagine: eggman uses the shell, the zettis in agony and espio on the background/besides them all totally confused

And then along came sonic. He hurled the conch away
Yeah Espio will probably be in the background with is wisp like "What's wrong? Is there something I should know...?" 😐 And Then Sonic comes in and Espio gets even more confused.

Invisibility, immense physical capabilities, able to change himself to the environment, and now intangibility? All he needs now is something like a shadow whisp that allows him to travel through shadows and his toolkit would be complete. Maybe the Zeti could possibly be changed for the better? They certainly would be more receptive when he saves their butts from Eggman, Blue hedgehog notwithstanding. I would call the wisp Sprite as it is a baby ghost so no other words or stages would fit, besides it has the same coloration as the drink.
I have a headcanon that Zeti actually prey on Wisps.
Here after the direct to say: Scourge really predicted the Jade Wisp's prominance in the series, since:
1- It's on Sonic Colors Ultimate
2- It'll have an important role in Rise of the Wisps
People disliked the zetti because they just show up out of no where with no fan fare or nothing, you gave them purpose and origin, agency and even lore. This world feels so alive with all these characters getting depth.

Espio and Zeena’s relationship certainly is compelling. Not sure if it’ll be a romantic one (doubtful) but their dynamic now made this story infinitely more engaging now.

Just watched the video... Man, this was a thrill! My favorite part was Espio and Zeena’s interaction. When a soul of light and one of darkness are in the same room, either someone dies or someone changes. And it seems Zeena might be on the road to change. I wonder if Espio might pull this off with the rest. I doubt he’s going to make the Zeti into noble people or anything, but it will be interesting to see if they become more like actual friends and warriors with a code of honor instead of a brutal gang.
And with Eggman entering the fray... Oh, Espio ain’t having any of that conch shit. I’m calling it right now: Espio won’t just punt the shell like Sonic did. He is going to smash it to pieces.

Oh man this was great! Especially love how Espio basically turned into The Mandalorian here, and the dynamic with Zeena is nothing short of amazing. Really getting me to think on how you write the Lost World adaptation. Perhaps there's a running gag where Sonic and Tails think she's Espio's girlfriend and the chameleon is in bumbling denial. This is now my fav What If man, need more!

16:40 - Espio here almost pushed Zeena's "Goku Button".
Quite interesting, the years went by and Espio was missing through most of the Sonic games. What does this mean to the Chaotix Agency? Do you think if we ever find them we will only see Vector and Charmy, or they filled that gap with new members? If that confirms, then maybe we can put Mighty and Ray in the main timeline (I mean, someone must have substitute him in Seaside Hill, during the Generations game).
With that said, we are tackling the Lost World game, and Eggman is in town. Since Espio is not a Zeti, and the Cacophonic Conch is useless against him, maybe he can be the key of defeating Eggman easily, without Sonic's interference. However, we are seeing an unlikely duo with Espio and Zeena, and if Sonic shows up, we could be watching an interesting tag battle of them against Sonic and Tails.
Now for the Ghost Wisp. A common name could be Spooky, but I think Espio wants to name him something out of a loyal pet; the first thing that comes to mind is Galford Weller and Poppy, from Samurai Showdown (since both are ninja by nature). With the proper care, the Wisp can be a deadly surprise for their enemies, thanks to some sneak attacks.
Here's my idea of a name: Sui, short for Hisui, the japanese name for "jade", since these Ghost Wisps are somewhat of this color.
I actually think Heavy and Bomb would make more sense, since Mighty wasn't introduced in Chaotix.

The reason I like this is because it gives the zero more personality, gives espio something to do, and makes it fun and intresting

I am... now noticing that Espio and Zeena have similar tails
Q1: i think espio would have done good if he had some way to train up his cold defenses. Q2: the narrative between him and zeena make it seems like she's gonna go yandere over him, turn good along with the rest of the 6 except for maybe zavoc and zix, or be the only one of them to turn good. Q3: the jade wisp seems like an adorable pal for espio, and knowing his personality he'd probably just end up calling it "jade" or something simple like that. Q4: i think lost world is gonna go prteey normally till zix sends espio after sonic and tails, at which point espio will be forced to make his decision on who to side with, or at least truly start deciding.

I doubt Espio will side with Eggman, he clearly kept his moral compass despite the physical torture and even lying is hard for him(the only reason Zix believes him about the jade ghost wisp is because that’s exactly what he wanted to hear and is letting the thought that he finally broke Espio cloud his judgement)

I'm new here and this is already my favorite AU you made. Espio is one of my favorites! I can't wait for part 3! I wonder how Sonic, Tails and Eggman are going to tie into this.
All I can do now is theorize how they will meet:
Eggman : Eggman will probably meet Espio the same way he meets the deadly 6 in Sonic lost world. I feel like Eggman may be a little worried about Espio being part of the Deadly 7. Why? Because he is immune to the horn thing, (I forgot it's name AHHHH!) because he isn't a Zeti.
Sonic and Tails : I feel like Espio would run into Sonic and Tails while trying to figure out the powers of the Baby ghost wisp. I feel like Sonic and Tails may see or over hear Espio caring for it. I think because Espio has a wisp and that he isn't a Zeti that he may be good. Only to be making a terrible mistake. Sonic would probably try to befriend him only to be picking a fight. I'd imagine they probably have a battle.
To be honest I have never played Sonic lost world so I am probably getting everything wrong. 😅
Please correct me on what I got wrong.
Also I love the idea of of Espio having to care for a baby wisp. Also 2 name suggestions for the baby wisp incase Espio names it (They are both simple and obvious) :

As for my potential name for the BGW, I think "Willo" might be good. It's both a play on "Will o' the wisp" and a reference to Willow trees which are generally associated with the dead, or ghosts.

Giving it some thought. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that obvious that the Cacophonic Conch was made as a tool against the Zeti. But by who and when and for what exactly are all complete mysteries. Either the Zeti had fought against the Mobians in ancient times or the lost hex had more than just Zetis living on it. Either way Eggman found out about the Lost Hex somehow and discovered the Cacophonic Conch along the way.
this is a fantastic what if. I love it.
to answer the two of your questions, i think you should name the jade wisp "spook" becuase they looked really spooky when they gave Espio powers.
and as for espio and Zeena, I say they might be good frenemies.

I've had this idea in my head regarding Werehog Sonic being close to snapping during the Lost World Arc where Sonic and Tails, and Eggman reluctantly work together, somewhere along the line of Eggman demanding that they work together like in canon. In which Sonic snaps at him, demanding why should they when everything up to this point is Eggman's fault: Sonic becoming a Werehog, the Dark Gaia energy inhibiting his ability to use Super Sonic's positive aura, and every chance of finding a cure.
Is it me, or is Zeena... flirting with Espio. And speaking of which, what’s Espio holding?
Facts
Consider she’s one my favorite members of The Deadly Six, I love the characterization of Zeena. Her sadistic, sassy, vain, bad tempered personality is hilarious shown and her dynamic with Espio adds some depth to her by showing a rare bit of mercy.
This is an amazing What If because you’re treating The Deadly Six with respect (and I have a soft spot for them) and it continues to be a great story for Espio.

So after watching this, I have a theory on how this is gonna go in Part 3.
Espio is gonna encounter the blue blur himself later on, probably during his trial and assume Sonic is either an enemy or Sonic would think Espio is with the Zeti as a true ally and fight him, and Espio would almost defeat Sonic thanks to his intense training and pain tolerance.
Meanwhile the baby Wisp would recognize Sonic as the hero who saved his planet and would save Sonic with it's power before Sonic recognizes the Wisp and would either think Espio made it his slave or something (if we're going the Sonic thinks Espio is with the Zeti route) and/or simply mentions the events of Sonic Colors and that would stop Espio as the two end things with a conversation and realizing it was a misunderstanding. What happens next... I'm not so sure.
