when i saw “thedas calls” in the title, i did think, “….like the calling?” but ashe took it to the next level by analyzing the entire script and noticing that it’s actual poetry!
I've been playing Bioware games religiously since I was a teen. Dragon Age feels like an abusive partner. It keeps hurting me (DA2, The Hinterlands, 10 years) but then I remember the good old times of Origins and the DLCs and I come back home to make things work. Dunno if I have had this level of patience for any other developer (Larian, CDProject, and owlcat are probably the only other devs I'd buy on reputation alone)

I’m calling it now, folks: when you choose an origin, customise your character, you start in one of the countries/lands shown in this teaser.
The destination for the mid or final section of the game? Tevinter/Par Vollen.
Or we could actually travel first thing to Tevinter as at the start of Inquisition when we visited Orlais and then explore the remaining regions chasing after Solas or his allies.
I highly doubt the current Bioware has the capability to do something like that.
Im wishing that is true.

It's so on brand for Ashe to watch this teaser trailer and go "Hmm yes, this sounds like it's written in this specific poetic format."
Will they make the conflict with Solas make sense I wonder. Considering he can wipe armies with a glance during Inquisition and that it still pales to what he's capable of.

I think the "enjoy it while it lasts" is definitely pertaining to the world changing plot that Dreadwolf will explore, although it definitely makes me squirm nervously with how this game's progress has wavered. Can't fully comprehend how it's nearly been a DECADE since the last Dragon Age game that actually hurt my soul

Summer of 2024 doesn't mean June 2024, could be August 2024. I'm expecting a 2025 release date. I also agree, it does sound like we're getting a very non traditional hero to play, or perhaps even multiple "hero's" it will be very interesting. In the meantime, I go to do battle with the Baldurs Gate brain. Nice analysis, Ashe.
Me too, seeing we only got slideshow instead of gameplay teaser I’d think the state of the game is still not ready to show

Was waiting for this, yet another incredible breakdown
One of my biggest hopes for Dreadwolf is that the writers actually consider the strong possibility that *most* of the people who play the game likely haven't read a single book or comic they've come out with and they approach characters and concepts and plot points from these secondary materials like they're brand new and not just assume everyone knows what's going on. We don't need another Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts situation.
Another hope is heels. I need to be able to give my mages heels. Vivienne had them, why can't I? 😭

I know the first voice almost immediately its Carolina Ravassa who is the VA for sombra in overwatch and raze on valorant

How will they roll in the saves carried from DA:O, DA2?! I want to see my Hero of Ferelden to come back once more!
Probably the same way they did with DAI; manually put everything into the Keep and then import that into the game. Maybe this time they will have the forethought to include the Keep with the game instead of requiring one to sign into a website that could be dead within a decade. On the other hand, since DAI and DA4 are using the same engine, the DAI saves which already contain the DAO and DA2 Keep info could feasibly be imported into DA4 no problem. But I think BioWare prefers the Keep, because I vaguely feel like I remember them talking about it being less buggy than traditional save importing.
Even if you only appear now and then its always such a joy to hear this voice again. Missed you Ashe, and I hope the next six months will be surviveable - buckle down fokes!

Great video :) idk if anyone said this already but in the Treviso shot, you can see - if you look closely - flags withs Antaam imagery on the center building. So that would mean Antiva is under the Qun occupation again !!

(this a wild thought and fun thought ) why do i think the citys reprecent the start zones in away antiva Rogues ,Tevinter Imperium mages , and warriors from the others . it would be fun to get mix starter zone again

3. Weissaupt is at war with orlais' warden. (But could be much worse)
4. Tevinter has been re attacked by the Qunaris and is in political/internal chaos.
5. Orlais potential dispute/scheming.
6. Kal sharok
7. The warden's cure quest.
8. Old god/Flemeth/Solas
9. The titans are awakening.
10. The forgotten ones are returning but something is off
11. Outcome of the architect.
12. All around alliances depending on DA, DA 2+ inquisition.
13. Sten's return+great dragons
14. Sandal
15. The potential survival of the one left behind in the fade depending on who you left. (Lore notes were given+DA2 flemeths advice)
16. Many ancient magisters still at large.
17. Status of the inquisition.
And much much more.
P.S: The last noises while a likely magister was talking about his reign (or an Evanuris?) - are noises when we're VERY close to the black city in DA:I.
There is a way to see it from very close in Awakening - i hope y'all are ready to be very surprised.

Ashe, I was floored by the teaser. Been waiting to finally explore the northern half of Thedas, from Minrathous to Kal-Sharok and the Anderfels. It's good to hear from you again. I still remember your Assquisitor gameplay for Inqusition. Those burns were savage. I need to catch up on my Dragon Age lore again and it falls to us to save Thedas once more. Maker, I miss Varric, Iron Bull, Cassandra, Hawke, Morrigan, our dear Warden (hope he found the cure to the Calling) and of course, Solas. We now have to save him from himself.

It probably won’t happen but I really want a remastered version of all three original games to come out shortly before the new game. I just started replaying DAO on PC and it’s so broken that it is nearly unplayable on modern system.

It shouldn't be the player the one who should fix the performance problems the game has.
That and that it doesn't have controller support is what has stopped me from buying it for PC. Glad that I still have my PS3, but I really want that remaster as well. At least I would want a remaster of Origins and DA2 which are the ones that I like.
It'll be 10 years and all we'll get is a full trailer if that's what "reveal" was speaking of, probably a Christmas 2024 release or 2025 release

I fear that we cant even try to stop solas i fear that "enjoy it while it lasts" means in the first few chapters of the game we can enjoy thedas while it lasts and then solas rips down the veil and thedas will be changed for ever

I don't think DAD will be released next year, DAO-DAI always took 1-2 years to release after the trailer's release.
If we have to wait until mid 2024 for more news, Dragon Age Dreadwolf is likely a 2025 think.

Seeing videos like this is kinda heart-breaking, considering what's going on with BioWare. Or, more directly, "with whoever uses that name now".
It's going to be another Anthem. It doesn't bring me joy to say this, but that's how it's going to be, all things considered.
Which is a crying shame. Scrapped version of the game, the Tevinter one, could've been immensely interesting, considering the known and expirienced part of this setting, this world.
I wonder if in another decade we'll see hard reset of DA, dead-space-remake style.

I really hope BioWare comes back from the grave. I really miss their old style rpg’s. My last adventure with BioWare was mass effect andromeda and I couldn’t play it at all.

@@angelafahlenkamp9311 I just couldn’t for the life of me get behind it. The writing and the characters were just not interesting. The setting also left me wanting more. Maybe I need more play time with it but I was falling asleep trying to get further into it. I probably put like 12 hours into it.
Maybe once solas break the vale open it will no longer be thredas but a new world 😮

I love you lore vids and how you break things down. But its your voice that keeps me coming back for more. you know maybe it's just that EA has fired so many of the people who made it "Dragon Age", but if that tweet was actually saying this is the swan song of Dragon Age and not just a vague threat, i wouldn't be too heartbroken by it.

But it's just literally the same thing as with Anthem at this point, and BioWare somehow in even worse state.
I’m not heartbroken about lost “veterans” of a company like other fans mention. Dragon Age has good roots to grow from, I won’t be missing out on this game. Too few games have real RPG gameplay options yet many get the label.
10 years waiting for nothing, bioware is just a big joke now.
10 years in developement. It probably started in an outdated engine and will look like crap compared to other games around its release.
