The camera operators "cutting edge" were fantastic , live from car to helicopter then from helicopter to car to track .

Did anyone notice Tricky wearing Marlboro sponsorship?
Revisiting 1982 hurts. Compared to the smarmy, useless fairies you're surrounded by nowadays, 1982 highlights a time when Australia was fair dinkum. What the hell happened?

I could tell you, but you won't like the answer. Don't worry though, it's not only Australia that it's happened to. They've ruined the whole of the western world.

There is NO doubting either Peter Brock or Larry Perkins both are very good race car drivers!!!! WHY was 05 windscreen not cleaned in that pitstop?? It is very very dirty!!
( LP is SUPERB race engineer/builder, None are better than LP )
As a Ford guy i hate to admit that in this race the Commodores are too quick for the Falcons of Dick Johnson etc i think part of the problem is the Falcon has the aerodynamics of a brick, i would have enjoyed if DJ could put on a better show, but it was not to be!
Bev Brock in her younger days, quite a character, hard to believe he did not stay loyal to such a nice lady!!

Were all the v8's running 5 speed boxes? Maybe Dick was only running a 4 speed toploader because it could handle the grunt of the 351 Cleveland. This meant he had no overdrive 5th gear for conrod. I think he hit max rpm well before the end of conrod straight.

@@kylebutler7142 My guess ALL the cars would running 4spd road g/boxes 5spd were not really around until later, and yes it needed to be Strong DJs 351 Cleveland was NOT shy in the Grunt department, the cars then had poor aerodynamics ( shaped liked a Brick! ) which would not have helped top speed of the Falcon/Commodore.

You would be surprised how little arodynamics didn't play a role in the outcome at 160 mph it's not fast enough it's more the cars brakes , suspension, weight that plays a role .

The Mazda driven by Yoshimi Katayama and Allan Moffat was having front brake trouble and dropped out of contention to win, well done to Peter Brock and Larry Perkins for the win.

Impressive crowd size. Less than Impressive is the litter and rubbish that they left behind.

Those Holden V8's were Bulletproof from 1978-1984...John Sheppard at 1st, then Larry Perkins, Engineering a Very Advanced Race-Car, compared to the Competition.

Niel Burns was the engine builder during that time, not Larry. Infact, for a long time niel burns was Larry's engine builder
