LAPD Motor School is extremely difficult. They teach all the basic skills presented here and have about a 50 percent drop out rate. Very few, if any, recent motor school graduates from any approved law enforcement motor officer training program could successfully compete in a competition this intense. These motor officers are great!

It's downright amazing to see how these guys can manuver these heavy bikes like it was just part of the job!

These guys make it look easy. Not only do they get to ride the newest bikes, but some one else is parking the payments, paying for the gas and maintenance. Traffic the pride of the department.

To learn these skills, there is no substitution for professional instruction.Ride Like A Pro has franchises all around the country and you can go to their website to find one near you. This course is based on street measurements of 24 feet which is the average width of a 2 lane road shoulder to shoulder. This is the perfect place for anyone to start who does not have familiarity with these techniques. To get into these competitions and be competitive, riders must be able to pass police minimums which go down to 18 feet and in many of these competitions you will find circles and U-turns that are well under 18 feet. That is where police and civilian motorcycle training centers come in. Get professional instruction. Then practice till you get it right and keep practicing until you can’t get it wrong. This is a demanding, challenging, scary, and fun activity. These skills are your first line of defense in the kill zone we call the street.

You forgot the tip that they modify the bike with a specialty seat that gives a more aggressive riding riding position on Harleys. Higher and more forward.

That ST rider is one of the fastest I've seen. He's not using any rear brake for his run only front brake which is a very advanced technique for cone work. Check him at 1:23 and 1:32.

Got a death wish...ride a bike in the city. Reason #1, its not your skill that will get you maimed...its the idiots out there .
Reason #2, the airbags on motorcycles suck. Reason #3, with the ego it takes to think you are bullet proof...you will NOT make a good cripple.
