Love the technical side of retro collecting, i think you two as well aaaand it's such a great feeling when you personally repair something or even make it better. Most electronics today can't be really easily fixed, since they have gotten too complex or made that way. That is just the beauty of old products, while not everything can be replaced anymore or repaired, like the disc reader you mentioned, there are thankfully still people like Doctor Mod or the producers of the sd card reader, who think of ways to make them usable. Thanks for the video Tofer and i'd be happy to see more from both of you and R.O.B. ;)
Wish i saw this before i started on mine, but i fairly enjoyed watching this, you made it so easy. Cantvwait to see the next one. And where do you get your Memory units from??
I think soldering safety and general practice should be mentioned. Fire hazards and wearing eye protection are a thing. Soldering braid and flux are your friends! Great video!
If Dr Mod is really an MD/surgeon in his real life, this makes me love him and his work even more because he's doing it for the love of the game and not just for the money! I can't WAIT to get my DC from him in the mail. He was amazing to deal with through email too, very polite and patient with all my questions. Sending love for both you guys from Canada @@tofer.A
Nearly all retro consoles have started to have leaky caps on motherboard, disc drives, and power supplies. If you’re going to put a nice ODE in with regular play, extend the life of your consoles by putting new caps in. I use Console 5 capacitor packs.
Ok Is there a way for me to use a gaming apu mini pc as the emulator core and then add a controller interface ? The AMD 6900h has way more power then what is needed for these platforms to run on. How do we find doctor mods site ? I am looking at a Trycon 6900HX
@@tofer.A I would love to talk to him about it and provide the mini pc. Lead dev and original IP creator of PENANCE here names Eric. Sorry does he have his own site? Would love to collaborate on this, I used to build custome gaming pc and now I make games :)
Early congrats on 100K! ❤🎉
Love my Dr Modded consoles!!!
Ah thank you so much for noticing. Very much appreciated. A lot of hard work and i love it so much!
I think this might be mine that I ordered the other day 😊. I am BEYOND EXCITED TO GET IT IN THE MAIL! Thanks Dr Mod!

I can't wait to order some of these mods!
I would be taking so many pictures with my phone to remember which screws went where. 😄
Yeah it can be confusing! 😂
Just get a wet erase mat and markers. Put down the screws together, write where you took them from, and then put a circle around the whole thing.
I do it all the time when I’m taking things apart and then putting it back together.
Hey, he got the green ranger helmet! Nice lol
It's got a nice patina
thanks for such an informative video
No problem. Thanks for watching!

Great episode thank you for the video greetings from Belgium
Why is doctor modd in a green ranger helmet 😂
Was green ranger not the GOAT? 😂
He’s probably a fan and also doesn’t want his identity exposed due to being surgeon. People are very critical and judgmental.

This is a great question for the Dr… Dr mod?

Whynot replace the psu with a dreampsu?
The original PSU is the best. Just get new capacitors in. Some experience screen signal interference by using replacement PSUs.
@ResidentXombie I've had zero issues with dreampsu. And they require zero soldering.
You portrayed your machine as much worse than it really was in your thumbnail. So you lied..... sad
