Thanks for the video. I’m hoping to make it to RTR one of these years. I have a minivan camper with a solar setup. Power stations have come a long way and with the smaller footprint, I didn’t need to worry about fitting wiring and multiple electronics boxes in the minivan. I have a 195W panel bolted through my roof rack, attached to a Bluetti EB70s. That’s it. I did a two month trip this spring to Newfoundland with many days of cloud and fog. No issues, the bluetti kept my fridge, devices, as well as some low wattage cooking appliances running. I even ran a 500w heater a few cold mornings.
Coming to RTR has been on my list for many years now too. Glad I finally made it out and hopefully you will be able to make it here too. I highly recommend it, it’s so nice being around like minded people who want a different kind of life style. Portable power stations are amazing for a small space, I know they may be more expensive than building one yourself or having one installed. However, like you said their small footprint makes them great for minivans.
Thank you Angela! Yeah meeting Bob was definitely my highlight of RTR. For me it was like meeting my favorite Hollywood star! I’ve drawn so much inspiration from him and his channel.
I’m the same way with solar power. I’ve watched a bunch of videos about it but my eyes just glaze over and my brain can’t absorb it. And of course there’s that part about do I really want to try to do my own electric and hope I don’t catch things on fire. Nope! Stay safe! Enjoy your journey.
Exactly! Last thing I need to do is short something and burn my van down. When the time comes for an actual solar system I’ll be having it professionally installed.
Totally understand about slowing down and enjoying your time traveling. Rushing around your bound to miss something amazing. Thanks again for sharing and look forward to seeing more content.
Back in 2019 I went to Jaime's Van Build in Quartzsite. He used have our community get together and FREE solar builds. Now Bob is doing it. You might want to try Van Aid. Its coming up next week for free set up on solar.
I started this lifestyle nine months ago, and let you I hope to meet Bob Wells to. I also hope to meet you and other TH-camrs as well.I have had a good time with others I meet too.

Thank you! I know I probably missed a lot out there in the Northeast. I’m sure I’ll be back though, one day.

Oh nice! I will have to look into that. For right now I'm just using a Jackery 1000 but it seems to met my power needs.
