Excellent lesson. It took me years to start understanding how Hendrix worked his magic, but this lesson crystallized the whole concept for me now, all these years later. Brilliant instruction!
this was a great video. it be awesome to have a follow up on how to build the upon the "fills" with some basic pentatonic fills and shapes to finish the formula.
I love how you do this and teach this. I stopped playing session work in the late 80s, but I have never forgotten how important it is to be melodic. You explained it beautifully. I just wished my left thumb where as long as yours so I could grab a base note with it and still play cleanly up top. Mine is too short.
Wrong pickup combination and tone, Jimi didn't use two pickups at the same time, he was about ninety% neck pick up only, but the playing was fairly accurate.
This video is so rich in useful information. The teacher is a natural communicator. Rare.

I thought this was a typical clickbait title but clicked anyway, of course, but it's great information beautifully explained.

The melodic fragment includes the piece of the chord, and the bass note is also part of the chord.

New sub, your Strat sounds great, what kind of p/ups do you use?
The melodic fragments often consist of a suspended 4 chord resolving back to the 1.
Not enough light to see your fretboard, and it is angled away! Help !

No such thing as a wrong tone, use what you enjoy. I thought it sounded great.
