      Kevin, we spent around $30 per can for the whole egg powder. It's now up to $115 per can. They culled millions of chickens over alleged bird flu. I'm sure this has affected the price of the egg powder, as there are far fewer laying hens out there.

    I appreciate your taste test review. Your powdered eggs looked like eggs, but when I made them they looked quite different and the taste was not like a normal egg. I noticed that you added one cup of powder and two-thirds cup of water. I followed the directions and used one cup of powder and one cup of water. I will try making them again using your directions. • @woodystube1000
      @woodystube1000 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@charlotte-m5d This is a matter of personal preference. Cooking eggs over higher heat really degrades the flavor and tends to overcook them. Experiment with low and slow egg cooking compared to high heat cooking, and leave them a little wet around the edges. Use a little more butter if you have issues with them sticking, and stir/turn constantly with a spatula. They will come out much fluffier and lighter, and you will be surprised how much better they taste.

      I have been wanting to do this but what is the cost of keeping a chicken fed? I don't know much but I do know that chickens will peck around in the ground and eat bugs that they see but from what I've been told you have to feed them grain or something so I'm just wondering if it's cheaper to buy eggs even if it's an inflated price but would it still come out cheaper to buy chickens and feed them to get the eggs. I don't know exactly how much feed they would need and how much that cost so that's what I have to look into

    Powdered eggs must have come a long way since the awful, sulfury stuff from the 60's...

    Would how you have your kids taste the eggs and your husband but you do not taste them. Not cool and kind of unusual.

      @@TheCookFamilyHomestead I guess we have different taste buds. I did however find a use for it where the taste isn’t as bad. I mix it with water, whipping cream, vanilla extract and sweetener blend together and drink it. I can still taste the weird flavor but I can tolerate it.

    what she put on the plate did NOT look like what was in the pan before adding salt and pepper. ive eat alot of powdered eggs and except for a couple brands (not this brand) they DO NOT tasted the same as fresh eggs. this video is obviously done by paid actors. why are there so many liars in the world today?

    • @TheCookFamilyHomestead
      @TheCookFamilyHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the insult. We got paid zero dollars for this video and we ordered a bunch of them off Amazon with our own money. Before you make false accusations and spread lies about people you don't know, you could just ask. I would have been happy to tell you that.
