Wow! The “mono maker” function that makes everything below a certain frequency into mono is so AMAZINGLY demonstrated at the 17:00 mark! The kick drum begins by sounding “spread out” by the stereo mics, and as Joe raises the Mono Maker frequency, you can clearly hear the kick just focus right in and become a clearly defined sound that you can identify as coming from right in the center of the room. VERY impressive. And very useful. Any recording that relies heavily on drum room mics can receive a major improvement in intelligibility by using this function on this plugin, or the couple of other BX channel strips that have it.
I have the AMEK mastering compressor and the focusrite channel strip. I have been contemplating testing out the 9099, but now I wonder if the 200 might be a better fit. How do these compare to the focusrite?
Oh man, another the best console in the world! Wow! )) I just wonder - do you guys really think we believe that you use those plugins in your studio instead of the hardware units everybody could see around yourself?
Also, not sure if this is a bug or intentional but when you hold option and click on the frequency to put it back to original place it somehow did an auto listen the band...until u click it again it stays that way...kinda annoying tbh
To demo the bx_console AMEK 200 for 30 days, start a MEGA Plan trial here: www.pa-megastore.com/mega?
It’s always good to know what you’re doing, but better when you can effectively explain what you’re doing!! Thanks Joe!!
Thanks for watching Anthony!!
The AMEK Mastering compressor is amazing! It's super transparent and allows you to push the song really loud and add energy.
That's so good to hear. Thanks for the awesome support and sharing your experience!

AMEK 9099 for me - I like it for a post mixdown. It's gentle, warm and brings out the mids nicely.
