The clone wars movie is the third episode in the chronological order. If you want, you can watch the two episodes that precede the movie but it’s not necessary. But if you continue the show you should definitely watch it in the chronological order. It makes everything much easier to follow.

as someone who has not yet watched that show but heard about it, how exactly is anakin referred to as master here or is that simply just a respect thing from a lesser jedi but in episode 3 which takes place obviously after all this stuff Mace Windu says he is to not get the rank of master but will be on the council.

It gets REALLY good later on, whether or not you choose to watch it in chronological order or in order of release date. The clones were developed in a wrong way. This series treats them as ordinary human beings when they're supposed to be mindless drones who take orders without question and see the Jedi as nothing more than their commanding officers (though there are few exceptions who saw them as more than that).

If you follow the theatrical order you will meet characters before they get introduced and see events on places where you later get an introduction for an all that, because the theatrical order is so weird. It is way better to grasp and understand in the chronological order. This has just to do with the fact how Clone Wars was made back in the day. I also promise that the show's quality and areas of storytelling will improve as the show progresses. Even Ahsoka is going to become more likable too, if she isn't appealing now.
I hope you guys start watching The Clone Wars, the show and the movie takes place between Episodes 2 and 3, the show was cancelled back in the early 2010's but it was revived for one last season on Disney+, starting in February. The show has 5 whole season, season 6 is considered The Lost Episodes because those were the episodes they were able to finish before they were cancelled, but I do think you guys would really enjoy The Clone Wars, it gets more mature as it goes on but that's because it was maturing with it's audience, but I do think you guys would enjoy the series, the animation is good as it starts out, but it gets better as it goes on, the show also has really good lightsaber battles, there's a lot to enjoy in The Clone Wars, hope you guys watch it, and if you finish Clone Wars, you should go into Rebels, and if you finish Rebels, watch Resistance, seems like a lot, but it's worth it.

One thing I wanted to mention was that Dave Filoni directed this film, he also directed, wrote and was part of the art department for the Clone Wars show (Which I hope you watch :D ). I mention Filoni because he also directed some episodes of Avatar! He directed the episode when the Fire Nation attacks the Northern air temple, that episode where the Fire Nation siege machines used those cables to climb the walls of the temple, that inspired the walkers climbing the temple walls in this Star Wars movie. He also directed "The Siege of the North, Part 2" episode!!! I love Filoni's work, he's also involved in the Star Wars Rebels show and the Mandalorian, both of those recommended as well. The Clone Wars TV series from 2003 -- I just watched it a few days ago and it was about a zillion times better than all of the prequels. Highly recommended.
Wow I did not expect you guys to watch Clone Wars! In reality it only becomes good in the TV series that follows this where all the characters are allowed to grow, particularly Ahsoka. It also really nails down why Anakin fell to the dark side; something the movies failed to show. If you don't wanna watch all 6 seasons of it, there's a guide with only the important episodes. Just google "clone wars guide" to find it. It's quite an emotional ride and really saves the Prequel trilogy.
It doesn't save the prequels, it pisses on the prequels and contradicts the movies all the time. This is why the 2003 Clone Wars series is superior. Also, the movies did not fail to show how Anakin fell to the dark side (btw, TCW only shows how Anakin becoming more aggressive, nothing more). We see exactly how Anakin started his journey by letting himself be consumed by fear of loss, which evolved into grief, which became passion and eventually hate. The only ones who think the movies didn't show enough of Anakin's fall are the ones who don't know how the dark side works in Star Wars or were expecting it to be realistic.
It takes place after episode 2. The tv show explains what happens to Ahsoka and why she doesn’t appear in the movies. But Ahsoka is one of the best characters developed in Star Wars

Clone Wars takes place between Episodes 2-3 of the Prequels and fleshes out all of the characters in the movies. You guys should watch the Clone Wars and Rebels since you see most of Asoka's character arch throughout the two series. Plus they are continuing it with the intention of finally finishing it Though the target is age is younger both shows have good storylines and get pretty dark. The animation quality gets better but does go up and down at the time but you'd enjoy them. Also, the Mandalorian is great and you'd love it.
Clone Wars are amazing! It's very easy to watch and there is always interesting banter going on. Later on you get the best storylines ever 😁 It IS about war so yes it gets dark
The design of the character models was inspired by the 1960s puppet show Thunderbirds, which is why they look like marionettes. The animation improves a lot as the show goes on.
If you guys plan on watching the show, then you should watch it in chronological order which is different than if you watch them in the order that the episodes came out. If you look it up online you can find it.
If you liked this, the show only gets better. Animation and story. Clusters of 3 or 4 episodes will usually focus on a particular character or characters or plot (usually missions of kinds) battalions of clones you get to know, some young Boba Fett and bounty hunter stuff. Even jar jar. It's kinda all over the place. In a good way. Plenty of Force/Jedi lore also.

I hope u react to every clone wars episode and series right up to the last episode of season 7. Honestly can’t recommend a TV show for this channel more Than that. The first seasons are cute and little stories here and there. But season 5, 6 and 7 really tie in with the movies and tells u a lot and it becomes a lot more adult. The themes, plot, acting, the progress of the animation in season 7 is outstanding. Honestly if u make it to season 7, u won’t regret it. As you go through the seasons of course it stands to reason that as the stories and arcs are unfolding you will see more not only about the main people like Ahsoka and Anakin and Padme and such Palpatine of course I hope you will enjoy the remainder of the seasons. So your reasons for wanting to watch in release order are actually why you would do better watching in the so-called chronological order. That being said, I watched them as they came out in release order and was ok with that. However, if you do in release order, there will be characters and events happening where you won't find out what they are until later. So it may feel a little choppy or like stand-alone episodes at first. If you are looking for better flow or continuity of the first season, then do chronological order. I hope you enjoy the Clone Wars. You will gradually find out why everyone loves Ahsoka so much and find her so endearing. After Clone Wars, Ahsoka goes on to do another series call Rebels which I haven't seen yet. She may just be a side character in Rebels, not sure.
The movie sucks, watch the show, the sho is gold. Search in google the best episode order. The episodes are not cronologically ordered so on the internet you have fans who made lists with the episodes you should watch
To me, this is Star Wars. I grew up watching the prequels and then this show. I remember seeing some parts of the original trilogy but it never caught my attention as a child. It wasn't until recently(23 years old), that I decided to watch the original trilogy and I think they are alright. I'm one of those people that like the prequels and this show more than the original haha

TCW have enhanced PT beyond OT making it pale in comparison. I care more about Captain Rex at this point than Princess Leia.
Anastasia Bell dude Rex isn’t in the prequels though... I love TCW but prequels are not as good as OT. Both have similar amount of world building, but OT simply has way better dialogue
Its actually the opposite. If you watch how it was released, then will you be confused as to who characters are etc. But i you watch it chronlogically, then everything will make sense, characters will be introduced properly etc. So definetly watch it chronlogically, not as it was released.

If you watch this show, I'd recommend watching at least part of The Clone Wars TV show that followed this movie. It's far better overall. The show fills the gap between Attack of The Clones and Revenge of The Sith, so it ties in directly with the live action movies though not all characters from this show are in the main Skywalker Saga. There are MANY episodes, so maybe just a highlight arcs if you're aiming to watch them before going to see Rise of Skywalker in theaters. Then I would recommend the rest of the series. Otherwise there will be plenty of time before Rise of Skywalker is available on dvd.

OMG if they end up reacting to The Clone Wars series, that would be a dream come true
The Clone Wars TV series from 2003 -- I just watched it a few days ago and it was about a zillion times better than all of the prequels. Highly recommended.
Wow I did not expect you guys to watch Clone Wars! In reality it only becomes good in the TV series that follows this where all the characters are allowed to grow, particularly Ahsoka. It also really nails down why Anakin fell to the dark side; something the movies failed to show. If you don't wanna watch all 6 seasons of it, there's a guide with only the important episodes. Just google "clone wars guide" to find it. It's quite an emotional ride and really saves the Prequel trilogy.
It doesn't save the prequels, it pisses on the prequels and contradicts the movies all the time. This is why the 2003 Clone Wars series is superior.
Also, the movies did not fail to show how Anakin fell to the dark side (btw, TCW only shows how Anakin becoming more aggressive, nothing more). We see exactly how Anakin started his journey by letting himself be consumed by fear of loss, which evolved into grief, which became passion and eventually hate. The only ones who think the movies didn't show enough of Anakin's fall are the ones who don't know how the dark side works in Star Wars or were expecting it to be realistic.
It takes place after episode 2. The tv show explains what happens to Ahsoka and why she doesn’t appear in the movies. But Ahsoka is one of the best characters developed in Star Wars

If you ever watch the show, try the Umbara arc in season 3. You won't regret it.

Clone Wars takes place between Episodes 2-3 of the Prequels and fleshes out all of the characters in the movies. You guys should watch the Clone Wars and Rebels since you see most of Asoka's character arch throughout the two series. Plus they are continuing it with the intention of finally finishing it Though the target is age is younger both shows have good storylines and get pretty dark. The animation quality gets better but does go up and down at the time but you'd enjoy them. Also, the Mandalorian is great and you'd love it.

Clone Wars are amazing! It's very easy to watch and there is always interesting banter going on. Later on you get the best storylines ever 😁 It IS about war so yes it gets dark
The design of the character models was inspired by the 1960s puppet show Thunderbirds, which is why they look like marionettes. The animation improves a lot as the show goes on.
If you guys plan on watching the show, then you should watch it in chronological order which is different than if you watch them in the order that the episodes came out. If you look it up online you can find it.

If you liked this, the show only gets better. Animation and story. Clusters of 3 or 4 episodes will usually focus on a particular character or characters or plot (usually missions of kinds) battalions of clones you get to know, some young Boba Fett and bounty hunter stuff. Even jar jar. It's kinda all over the place. In a good way. Plenty of Force/Jedi lore also.
R2 had those jets in episodes 2 and 3.
If you are able to stick with the show, then I’m sure you’ll end up falling in love with it like almost everyone else does.

@Storm Akima You must watch it in chronological order because the release order often skips forward and backward in time between various stories due to the fact that the series was designed as an anthology series.

I hope u react to every clone wars episode and series right up to the last episode of season 7. Honestly can’t recommend a TV show for this channel more Than that. The first seasons are cute and little stories here and there. But season 5, 6 and 7 really tie in with the movies and tells u a lot and it becomes a lot more adult. The themes, plot, acting, the progress of the animation in season 7 is outstanding. Honestly if u make it to season 7, u won’t regret it. I know that will take a while for this channel but honestly you will get emotional. And u might not expect it from a cartoon but u will
I actually chose to watch this movie over The Dark Knight in theatre and I don't regret that decision
As you go through the seasons of course it stands to reason that as the stories and arcs are unfolding you will see more not only about the main people like Ahsoka and Anakin and Padme and such Palpatine of course I hope you will enjoy the remainder of the seasons. Can't wait for season 7 to finish out the series towards the Revenge of the Sith beginning.

I really hope you guys start with the whole series. The clone wars series is a different take on the prequel trilogy
So your reasons for wanting to watch in release order are actually why you would do better watching in the so-called chronological order. That being said, I watched them as they came out in release order and was ok with that. However, if you do in release order, there will be characters and events happening where you won't find out what they are until later. So it may feel a little choppy or like stand-alone episodes at first. If you are looking for better flow or continuity of the first season, then do chronological order.
I hope you enjoy the Clone Wars. You will gradually find out why everyone loves Ahsoka so much and find her so endearing. After Clone Wars, Ahsoka goes on to do another series call Rebels which I haven't seen yet. She may just be a side character in Rebels, not sure.
I reccomend you guys watch the movie "Wonder" it is based on the book wonder. It is sad, happy along with other things. Just a suggestion 😎😀👍

The movie sucks, watch the show, the sho is gold. Search in google the best episode order. The episodes are not cronologically ordered so on the internet you have fans who made lists with the episodes you should watch

To me, this is Star Wars. I grew up watching the prequels and then this show. I remember seeing some parts of the original trilogy but it never caught my attention as a child. It wasn't until recently(23 years old), that I decided to watch the original trilogy and I think they are alright. I'm one of those people that like the prequels and this show more than the original haha

@@cassu6 I'll answer as a fellow prequels fan. Cuz prequels are more interesting, duh. OT has a more simplistic plot. Even Anakin is a more complex character than Luke thus more interesting. TCW have enhanced PT beyond OT making it pale in comparison. I care more about Captain Rex at this point than Princess Leia.
Anastasia Bell dude Rex isn’t in the prequels though... I love TCW but prequels are not as good as OT. Both have similar amount of world building, but OT simply has way better dialogue
Its actually the opposite. If you watch how it was released, then will you be confused as to who characters are etc. But i you watch it chronlogically, then everything will make sense, characters will be introduced properly etc. So definetly watch it chronlogically, not as it was released.

YES you're watching Clone Wars? Never saw the movie cause I heard it was eh, but the show was fantastic. Ahsoka is the best new character in the franchise. If you like SW you should definitely continue it.

my guys if you think this is dark you are not prepared for the clone wars series lol. while it was marketed towards kids, I don't think it was ever really intended for them. the new series leads straight into revenge of the sith, and we all know how dark that goes

If you watch this show, I'd recommend watching at least part of The Clone Wars TV show that followed this movie. It's far better overall. The show fills the gap between Attack of The Clones and Revenge of The Sith, so it ties in directly with the live action movies though not all characters from this show are in the main Skywalker Saga. There are MANY episodes, so maybe just a highlight arcs if you're aiming to watch them before going to see Rise of Skywalker in theaters. Then I would recommend the rest of the series. Otherwise there will be plenty of time before Rise of Skywalker is available on dvd.
