Good tutorial! But, Did you use the same strategy for rough operation?

Hi mbtbiketouradventure, as the blank part was a casting, roughing operations were not necessary for this part ✌

How do you get the lathe toolholder models like that? Is it similar to the way it's done with milling tools? Would be nice to see a video on it 😊

      Hi Anders!
For creating the toolholder (the 3D-Holder was provided by a supplier) we use our tool management system Technology Manger to implement it into NX. As a matter of fact we even have a video in how to create turning tools with the Technology Manager. You can take a look at it by following this link: th-cam.com/video/4ZU2hVZBPDc/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=JANUSEngineeringAG
Reach out to us if you want to know more on this topic! 😊

    thanks alot for the Tutorial!
In a real Situation should i be worried about my Spindel and the Vibrations while performing this move?
cause i feel like i need to use a revolver to withstand the vibrations while doing deep IDs

      Hi Jay,
of course the machines rigidity is quite important. Yet we feel that the shown approach is a huge benefit when you have to cut those challenging geometries.
