5 double spreads dedicated to Sukuna Mickeys is pretty wild. Honestly, I can't even blame the Gege glaze because Uncle Sukuna is running an insane battle marathon so he deserves it. That spread with True Form Sukuna doing a fully spoken fire arrow wasn't just a nasty cliffhanger but it's one of the best spreads in the manga imo. My jaw dropped then my heart sank at the "break next week". Gege's love for Sukuna is so strong it might become a top 1 JJK ship at this point.

Last chapter confirmed that the real name of Sukuna's technique is Shrine. I've seen a theory floating around that's seeming very likely, now, that Sukuna can basically use techniques that have been offered to him. He was worshiped like a god back in the Heian Period, and in Shinto as well as Buddhism and other Asian religions, one of the ways you worship gods is by making offerings of things like incense, food, music, and money.
So it's seeming like sorcerers made offerings to Sukuna by turning over their techniques to him, either like protection money so he wouldn't destroy their communities or out of genuine veneration like Uraume shows to him. I'm very interested in how this might conflict with his whole philosophy on "solitude in strength," if he uses power that's been borrowed as his technique. I figure that's part of why he only uses Cleave and Dismantle most of the time, as a way of rejecting a technique that doesn't conform to his own world view.
Also, Yuji used Blood Manipulation to catch his leg and stick it back on, don't know if you noticed. Blood Manipulation and reverse cursed technique are a really strong combination, especially when paired with Yuji's innate toughness.
This doesnt really make sense. Why would he only use two techniques if his whole shtick was a giant arsenal of techniques.
Besides, yuta is the copy guy with a big arsenal. it would be weird for gege to design the main villain to have the same design. Kenjaku was also a villain that had a big list of techniques. Its a bit too cramped for sukuna to also be added to the list.

I still prefer the idea that Sukuna is tapping into the Cursed Realm that Kenjaku really, *really* briefly mentioned before the Culling Games kicked off, and creating techniques just from his imagination. But Shrine being the name of the technique points to something else.
As for why he would only use two techniques, well, you're thinking in terms of effectiveness. I'm looking at it in terms of character. Sukuna likes to dominate and make a game, a challenge out of things wherever he can. Other than what I mentioned about how he might dislike that his technique relies on borrowed power (if that's the case), it could simply be that he wants to make things more fun by limiting his options and being more creative with just one or two techniques.
I think that would fit his personality better than using everything he's got in every fight. He prides himself on mastery and power. Part of that means not using every card in his deck, not drawing every sword, if he doesn't have to.

So If I Read Right;
Sukuna unleashed his Barrierless DE but then put a 2nd Barrier outside - If maki wasnt there he would have simply opted for a normal DE but since Maki is here, he needs his Barrierless DE ability to slash unanimate object.
By putting an outer barrier on top of his Barrrierless DE, he only suffers in range but not output nor abilities
SCRAP THAT, I reread and what he did was create a huge barrier and target everything inside so he could lock on Maki too

what has barrierless DE to do with slashing unanimate objects ? since in his domain dismantle targets objects without CE and cleave targets objects with CE so if the sure hit is the same the presence of barrier should be out of the question

In the last chap Jin Itadori being the twin is crazy if you remember what jin said in chap 143 when grandfather was taking to Jin about his wife(Kenjaku) and Jin said "Don't talk such things in front of yuji, they say babies remember more than we think"
and considering that Sukun ate Jin he must also remember that I guess
I know this chapter is filled with despair but I couldn't help but enjoy it, there were a lot of good art, chapter pacing was immaculate, Yuji still showing why he's HIM with his Blood Manipulation x RCT x Simple domain feats. I don't know how we'll deal with Fuuga, but I'm still somewhat excited to see where this situation will go. It's a generational fight in modern shonen for me, when I take a step back and look at the whole Shinjuku battle. Gege is definitely in his Malevolent Kitchen.

Laz, the reason why the narrator said "7 black flashes by Itadori Yuji's hand" and not 8 was because the back to back blash flash that we saw was not Yuji's it was Yuji first then Sukuna's implied by the different angle
I think yuji HAS only hit 7 black flashes total. Im pretty sure the second once in chapter 257 was from sukuna. Hence why yuji shot out the window afterwards.
The fight is reaching its climax, and we're really getting close to the end of "Jujutsu Kaisen." It's kind of wild to think that I've been reading jjk since the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc. I can wholeheartedly say that this manga has been a delight to follow these past years, and I'm already excited to see what Gege will do next after "Jujutsu Kaisen" ends. Anyway, enough of me yapping. As always, I love watching reactions to One Piece and "Jujutsu Kaisen" ♥
He was finally forced to take them seriously, he's at a fraction of his full strength, but they still forced his hand to open the furnace.
Now I'm gonna go ahead and say, that after everything they've been through....Yuji, Maki, Choso, and, Ino (also Miwa apparently) aren't gonna be able to win against the flames of death.
However I am of the belief that they have one more plan up there sleeve and potentially, even tho Kusakabe said the flames would be instant death, that they do have some form of countermeasures.
I refuse to lose hope even now, even when Gojo fell I didn't give up, when Sukuna Reincarnated his OG body I didn't break, when Yuta was slashed I still believed, when Sukuna landed a black flash I still held out, and now with the Furnace ready to turn Yuji and everyone we know into less then ash, I STILL SAY THAT WE CAN WIN THIS!!
Call it cope but when I hear "Sukuna is too strong" my resolve to watch him fall only grows stronger.
Also the Domain thing was super cool. Seeing him learn the one handed domain trick from Gojo is wicked sick.

08:16 it's not because of Blood Manipulation. Noritoshi, as an example, wouldn't be able to convert Cursed Energy into Blood. Yuji also can do this now because he ingested the remaining Death Paintings, it's because of their special human/curse constitution

Sukuna is about to get jumped again after his Domain ends. He took another big risk that will come back to bite him. It's pretty much a given at this point that Megumi is going to play a big role in smoking Sukuna with the gang because my guy is about to activate the nastiest domain in jujutsu history. Someone else probably said it already, but Yuji didn't lose his foot. In that last panel the foot he's leaning on is the one that got cut off, so that sound effect is probably him re-attaching it. He probably used Blood Manipulation to grab it and pull it back on, then RCT to heal it.

Our boy Yuji put Sukuna into a situation where he had to do a desperate 99 seconds deformed Malevolent Shrine and immediately use those Flames because our boy became a threat to him.
One of the blackflashes last chapter (The one before Yuji uses Dismantle) was actually Sukuna's blow.
Btw, the domain is in fact at full strenght, it simply cant be maintained for as long as the normal domain.

it was never stated that Yuji switched with Yuta, we only know about Kusakabe, and right now the other person he switched it is the ace in the hole that Fuga has been until now, probably the person he learned something that will allow him to survive Fuga or win the fight. Considering how Yuta improved with his domain expansion I think that the only one he switched with to improve was Gojo, since he is the only one on their side who can alter the conditions of his domain so easily, anybody else don't use any high level precision domain since Higuruma's and Hakari's are totally part of their CT so they never even had to worry about the conditions to apply to the barrier, as Kusakabe stated. Now Yuji used RCT, SD, two CTs, what is left to perform here? DE.
