7 years later I'm putting the final touches on my albatross- fully laminated and contemplating a killer planes drill job going up this tiny tail piece what a sexy plane
Denise's tracking and stability skills are truly wondrous, (but still in fuzzy 480), imagine what she could do with a modern HD Widescreen camera? I know you love these Cams you have leftover from the turn of the century but you will soon get over it when the customers can see the planes properly at last :) (Warning 1080p adds Ten years.)
Ernst must have a cast iron stomach to withstand those manuevers without losing his cookies. Very nice video, Denise. Nice flying demo Steve. Very pretty model. Cheers, John
I think your right that Hans is Ernst son from a time perspective! We'll see about a comparison but not a plane I really want two of them though! Love watching your flights and videos! I'll send some of my business your way at least for the great Killer planes shirts!
I really like this machine. The shape, the colour scheme, the madness. Most of the planes I've tried to make tend to fly in a slightly strange way, so the Albatross will suit my style! Haha! Loved the John Cleese clip at the end! X¬D
Very nice Ernst, have you met Hans? It figures that I got the Parkzone model weeks before this one came out, go figure! Sweet flying Steve and videoing Denise! Thumbs up Ernst!
I moved the battery toward the back, because I had to add quite a bit of up trim to fly level. You point it up, it goes up. You point it down, it goes down- unless there's a stiff breeze, like during this video. There's a sweet spot for the CG in there somewhere! I think the huge guitar pick shaped fixed tail has a lot to do with it-
Yeah I have the albatross myself it's really a great aircraft.. I upgraded mine to the new 650 KV motor and I run mine on a 5S battery with a 60 amp ESC let's just say it makes a lot of difference I can do a lot of 3DS with this airplane out and it is super fast!!
@@Killerplanesit's always a good idea on these albatross.. the wing struts it's a good idea to superglue those together.. it makes the wing a lot more sturdy.. and gives it a lot of strength... And when you come in from landing you can come in Dead stick just remember glide it in slowly.. for some reason everybody wants to fly them like a jet and come in fast.... I've had mine for 3 years and I got close to 100 flights on it and not one mishap... Other than the upgrade to the motor 650. 60 amp ESC. And when you go to a 5S battery watch out.!! It is going to be super fast!
Great videos, The Albatros is painted in the colour scheme of Baron Von Richthofen . He was flying this aircraft ( the full size one) when he was shot down and wounded. Love the bit of Monty Python humour.
Love the videos Steve, you make this look so EASY...I just wondered...does the lovely Mrs do any flying...? You two are a great team. See you in the air. Wayne
Also, a lot of people think my incessant climbing and diving has something to do with the CG, rather than my wacked flying style! I'm not that interested in level flight, since I don't actually have to get a plane to another airport or something. You can see a nice level pass at about 5:25
Hi, looks like the CG is too far back, dropping its tail in turns, You are correct that biplanes do need a fair amount of rudder to turn. Really like the WW1 stuff, Regards.
It flies level fine after I moved the battery back (see 5:20) Before this vid it was diving with the elevator trimmed level, and the CG balanced to the factory settings
Ok, I took the plunge....(Denise is a very persistent and creative sales person) But I agree with the prior statement, it's time for her to take the sticks!
grabir01 MMMMMmmmmmm, could be... it’s kind of hard balancing these things, and then kind of hard to tell if you got it right by flying it. Like flying a real ALbatros, probably-
Hey! Somebody who can spell Manfried von Richthofen (unless you cheated!) Our old Shepherd was named after him- "Ricky" to his American hipster friends

what a sexy plane
sure am glad I didn't need to fight in this plane- half the battle is keeping it in the air
but is is sweet looking!

All of a sudden I need one of those...lol

Dynam planes do not need reinforcing rods. They are very sturdy right out of the box. I have 4 different planes from them. Love them all. No rods .
I've got the parkzone albatros IT flys amazing and dose not want to kill itself than the original aircraft
Rc pilot UK Glad it doesn't want to kill itself! You have other planes that are despairing?

Trying to get her on the sticks- but then who would be on the camera? Steve can't track a plane like she does!

Hans is Ernst's son, we think. You should get the Dynam and do a comparison- I'll bet the Dynam wins! Thanks for the kudos!

She loves her Sony TRV900s- we have a pair of them! Maybe if they break...

what size of battery did you use in video thx ..
1976axerhand I think a 3000mah 4 cell
monocoque (insert alternate spelling) - what steve hopes is denise's philosophy
Hmm.. Like the real one in Rhinebeck? How would she fly a little more nose heavy...?
How do you know Steve only has ONE?
looks tail heavy

Not quite sure what that means-
Ja! Iss gut aeroplane Mein Herr! You must haff a gut schtyle!
I love biplanes although they should all be strait because its how god intended it.
Hey! Somebody who can spell Manfried von Richthofen (unless you cheated!) Our old Shepherd was named after him- "Ricky" to his American hipster friends
AAAkkkkk! Brrraaaaaakkkk! (sound of retching with a German accent) Who said Ernst didn't hurl?
Gerschmittensie hemmensvitz!
Rearward CG.
Yeah, the crooked biplanes are a bother! God was right!
