I'm a Racing supporter here in Argentina, we love this guy almost like nobody else. He was key for the league title in 2001, our club never achieved anything else after he left not even qualify for international cups, and then in 2014 when he came back we won the league again after 13 years (the first title in my lifetime). Simply my favorite player, my hero.

I certainly didn‘t forget that Milito was crucial in winning the treble for Inter. And he was such a humble person! Grazie Diego!
PS: you should do a video on Esteban “el cuchu“ Cambiasso. A massively underrated midfielder who never stood in the limelight, a quiet player. Only when he didn’t play it became clear, how important his presence for the team actually was.

He didn’t really disappear, the 2nd season he was in Inter he was injured and missed a lot of games. the 3rd season he was only second in terms of score to Ibrahimovic in Serie A with 24 goals at the age of 32. The season after he was injured again. Injuries sadly just hinder lots of players:(

Fun fact: Milito said that he actually refused Inter at the time of Roberto Mancini, because they had already too many big strikers (Adriano, Ibrahimovic, Crespo, Cruz, Balotelli...) and he thought it wasn't the right time.

Diego Milito was the main reason Inter won the treble in 2009/10 season. He was amazingly crucial with his goals, he scored the only goal in last league match against Siena to win the title, then scored the only goal in cup final to beat Roma, and then the "crème de la crème", he scored 2 goals in Champipns leage final against Bayern to writte his name in history books forever.

Maradona didnt give him enough opportunities is a crime for me even until now. I also agree that he seems unbothered by the facts that the world didnt give him the easiest path in football.

As a Juventus fan watching him lead inter merda post farsopoli to glory hurt me a lot inside.
I begrudgingly agreed though, he was one of footballs best finishers in that era of later 2000s early 2010s. And he could have had more career accomplishments had he been at bigger clubs than Genoa / Zaragoza (no disrespect to either of them though especially as both clubs do have a good fan base and history). I have him up there as one of modern footballs greatest finishers.

Just a thought: there was another lil Argentine on that Zaragoza team by the name of Andres D'alesandro. To date, one of the best midfielders on his day...La boba. Fun fact: the football Liverpool are playing now was the football that the 2006 Real Zaragoza team played back then. I am both a Madrid and Brazilian fan, but in another world D'alessandro would be Brazilian.

2010 Ballon d’Or was a total scam. No Milito in the list and also Messi ending up winning it… Sneijder should have win it cause of his amazing year with Inter and Dutch. The Ballon D'or lost all it's credibility when Diego Milito wasn't even nominated in 2010...
Diego Milito won 5 trophies with Inter in 2010 (Seria A, Copa Italia, UCL, Club World Cup and Super Copa) . He was arguably their best and most important player during the 2009/10 season. He was Inter's top goal scorer and he scored 30 goals that season (14 more than any other Inter Milan Player) which included 22 in the league and 6 in the UCL. Was 2nd top scorer in Serie A and 3rd top scorer in UCL. Diego Milito scored the only goal in the Copa Italia final against Roma and also scored in the Semi Final against Fiorentina, scored the winning goal in the last match of Serie A that won Inter the league, Milito bagged a brace against FC Bayern in the UCL final and also scored in the round of 16, QF and SF of the UCL against Chelsea, CSKA and Barcelona. He also scored several other decisive goals that season. Despite doing all this, Diego Milito wasn't even nominated for the Ballon D'or in 2010. ( Not even among the top 23 players in the world? )

2010 for Argentina was so stupid.. Maradona I love him (argentinian here).. but he was not a good coach.
He was more fan of the team instead of actually coaching and diciplining..
He tried building Messi up to win like he did in 86.
He failed to realize that the team also needed experience.
    That experience beeing:
    - Cambiasso (not selected)
    - Zanetti (not selected)
And the best striker at that moment in time:
    - Milito (benched)
All of whom who were on there peak physically and confidence. And all of whom from Inter that had just won champions league..
    Seriously so idiotic...
Only Argentina never go to the World Cup with the best team possible and letting personal gripes keep them from selecting players.
Like in 1998 Passarella did not want to play both Crespo and Batistuta..
2016 Tevez not selected even though he won seria A and played CL final year prior..
Maradona should have known better since he himself have been put of teams do to personal gripes..
