I have sold 9 houses and still have 3 rental properties in the Pasadena and I am a FIRM believer in staging. I had a friend who was a realtor that did not believe in it. They actually vacated and emptied their very large house in MD when they relocated to North Carolina in retirement and their house sat for over a year. It echoed, it was "cold" and people couldn't imagine themselves in the spaces. One thing I always say is that people want to know that their queen size bed will fit with 2 nightstands. Most buyers have no visual perspective!
As a buyer staging does nothing for me. In fact I would rather it be vacant. I have the MLS sheet with the room sizes and know what I have now and I use that as a litmus test. In my mind, staging makes me think what are they trying to hide here... I am looking for money...Money I am going to need to spend or money that the owners have spent. Therefore give me the vacant house and the MLS sheets with the room sizes
@@waldnerwintersteam Well I guess different strokes...I once had a realtor tell me that buyers dont even look at MLS sheets with room sizes and details!!She painted it as its about the look and suggested there was emotion and preferred to do colorful Flyers with slogans like " Welcome Home"...LOL, Ok is what I thought Hmm...I think buying a house is a business transaction and treat it as such
My preference is for homes that are well staged or totally empty but probably better to be staged. That in between with the home looking like 'lived in' crap is a deal breaker for many.

YESSSS!!! You get it! People buy off of a feeling and reinforce their decision with logic. Staging creates a “feeling”… Well said Laurie

That is an interesting perspective. I can see why some buyers wouldn't want the extra 'noise' of staging. Thanks for your input!

I get it! You want a staged home to show you its potential or a blank slate for you to create your own vision! The in between isn’t helpful…
@@waldnerwintersteam Exactly.
