living the dream, I would totally prefer to be in my own company if I feel safe at a camping spot. It's good for the soul now and then. Greetings from Australia.
Thank you for taking us along on your adventure. I have never gotten to spend any time in the Adironddacks, but I would really like to explore, backpack and travel through there. Thank you for giving me a taste of the great state of New York outside of the Cities. Safe travels.
@@LoPieintheWild yes it is a large area, but I was born and reared mostly in Texas.... I have found given a few months to wonder about in an area, I can get a great feel for it. I know I will have to return again and again to see everything, and actually will never see and experience everything. My #1 Goal is to travel and see all the National Parks, Monuments, Historic sites, Rivers, Preserves, etc., but doing it living out of a vehicle I plan on throwing in camping, backpacking and exploring along the journey. I have obligations that don't allow me as much time to travel as I would like, but try to make the most of the time I can get away. Channels like yours give me a chance to experience places while I am at homebase and a starting point of research for trips. Thank you again for putting yourself out here on TH-cam.
Sounds like an amazing goal! And I am really trying to put out content for folks like us who have shorter stretches of time to explore but want to make the most of that.
I've enjoyed camping all over the central Sierra Nevada's since I was a kid. When I was old enough I always carried a gun because of the bears, pumas and as a signaling device should I get lost. I'm too old to camp now, but until a few years before I quit I always felt peaceful and safe in the mountains. Things have changed over the last few years, people are dropping out of society and camping all summer long. Many seem to have mental problems and tend to be very unpleasant or even scarry to camp by. Personally, I wouldn't camp or hike anywhere without a firearm unless it was a private camp ground. Have fun and be safe.

Is this in NY? I live in Central NY and love the Adirondacks.
Yes in New York not far from Lake Placid.
