  • On 19 October 1999, acclaimed artist Tracey Emin gave ITN's Nicholas Glass a tour of her exhibition at the Tate Britain, paying particular attention to her newest work, My Bed, which was already making headlines. Emin had been nominated for the Turner Prize and was hoping to win. In an extended and intimate interview, Emin also talked about her others works on display, her preferred artistic media, and how she would feel if she didn't win the prestigious prize for which she had been shortlisted.
Tracey Emin didn't win the Turner Prize in the end. Nevertheless, My Bed remains one of the most notorious and hotly discussed pieces of art to grace a gallery in the last 50 years.

  • @michaelrichardt

What Tracey has done for the freedom of expression and for the voice of being a woman in Art is undeniable❤

One has to respect Emin for not only duping the insufferably pretentious art world with copious attitude in lieu of discernible talent but also for also inveigling cheeky Charlie Saatchi to open his chequebook (more than once) and acquire her various ‘artistic’ endeavours!

Emperor's new clothes comes to mind with this utter shite.
