Hi, first of all, the title is wrong, should be all you need to know if you are American. Second, driving from France trough Luxemburg to Germany, there is only two languages- french and German. There is not luxemburgian language. As there is no Belgian one. There are 4 official language in Switzerland. It is very common to cross 4 counties in a day. Maybe more if you go around Benelux. And finally, very important: please never say you can not drive a car with a manual gearbox, everyone will lough at you...We say there people are passengers, not really drivers. Also most of the traffic rule here in Europe are by signs with no words. So you have to remember all of the 300 signs mean. And finally: never driven on the middle or left line unless you are overtaking!!!
There are different highway codes in all EU countries
