Looked like a really good day out and as you said a perfect end😂. Was that the five miles from anywhere pub that you launched from? Can you just turn up or do you have to phone ahead? I guess you sailed SW , and if you went NE you would have come to the A1123 bridge? Is there much clearance under there?... I need about 13' when I lower the top yard. Also what licence do you need to sail there . Sorry for all the questions, but you really did make it look like it was worth the visit😊 Regards.
Yes, that's the Five Miles pub. Just turn up - its one of the last free public slips around. It gets very busy on summer weekends but is ok if you go early. They don't like you to park in the pub carpark but there is a small NT carpark five minutes walk away so I use that. From memory, the 1123 bridge is around 12' There is some good sailing to be had the other side of the bridge- all the way down to the rail bridge before Ely. See the video 'Evening sail in the Fens'. Maybe launch at the Fish and Duck marina? Licences available from the Environment Agency Hope this helps.
Nice and peaceful like Roger Barnes videos. I have a little Penobscot 14 just learning to sail on the eastern shore marshland rivers of Chesapeake bay
Looks lovely!
Great video...thanks for sharing
Very nice. I like your improvised ePropulsion tiller. Might do the same... Quentin
