Thanks for the reply. Both the PCT and CDT are on my "bucket list", LOL. Wish you the very best in all your outdoor activities. I've really enjoyed your PCT adventure!! Thanks for letting us share your experience!! Best wishes.... Ax

I hope you're able to hike both the PCT and CDT. That would be quite an accomplishment, along with also being great adventures.

Congratz Dan!! Been following you since last year. Glad you decided to complete the second half !! Have you given any thought to the CDT?? LOL. This and the CDT are on my Bucket List. You're an inspiration, my friend. Nice going !!

Thank you! I doubt I'll do the CDT. It's more difficult and longer... and I'm not getting any younger. :) I'm looking at easier hikes from now on.

So after this, have you given any thought to doing the Pacific Northwest Trail? The PNT travels from the Rockies in Glacier National Park across eastern Washington, the North Cascades, San Juan Islands, and the Olympic Mountains, and all the way to the Olympic Coast; but is shorter and easier than the PCT.

My next hiking (I hope) will be in Scotland and Wales next summer.

Captain Dan Sounds fun! I've always been curious as to what the hiking is like in the UK.

interesting creek crossings and deep forest, good stuff.

Creek crossings are a thing starting in the high Sierra. We all pride ourselves in NOT getting our feet wet.

Did you find yourself speeding up or slowing down in anticipation of finishing? This video was so good, I could smell the forest through the computer screen!

Neither. I wanted to savor the last section of the hike, at the same time- make good miles.

The lady you spoke to at 8m must have been from the UK originally. She sounded brummy.

      They're from London.

Is that Kathryn and Conrad you were speaking to at 7:30? She sounded nice 👍

@@videocritical I assumed it was Kathryn but when I went back and listened I remembered that this was a lady who was hiking southbound. I never got her name and I don't even remember what she looked like, but very friendly.

Hello Dan! I don’t know whether you still get notified when comments are made so I will cross my fingers that my question gets to you. I was of the understanding that individual permits were not needed if a PCT permit was in hand. Did you have one? Or, did you get permits along the way?

    • @CaptainDansWanderings

The PCT permit covered everything as I recall. I also had to get a permit from California that said I'd passed their online wildfire course. And a permit from Canada that said I could cross the border. But everything else (e.g. entry into wilderness areas) was covered by the PCT permit.
