Let us be very clear: Donald Kraybill does not and never has spoken for the Amish. The Amish speak for the Amish. Kraybill is a man that asserts he is an 'expert' in Amish values but does not derive from that people and the Amish do not support this man or his views. A professor in a metropolitan university will never 'get' Amish values and whatever his 'expertise' on the Amish, his views on their predilections will not be borne out in reality. He does not understand, and will never understand.
we might be different in our way of life ..but i think the Amish should and will be respected in our country..you are a part of america though people dont see it ! i think alot like you do and hope trump will bring this fight for all of us in the same direction
I have a lot of Respect for Amish. I love their way of life.. All my life we were more doing what Amish did then any other farmers.. I am a farmer's daughter and know that everyone work that farm. And help their neighbor out in hard times..
The Amish are neither American, Nor Christian. This is easily proven by contrasting their doctrines against universally accepted Christian precepts. (As elucidated in Scripture.) Their superstition based religion is from the Dark Ages! Other documentary videos reveal it is NOT based on The Bible as its foundation. It IS based on the "ordnung" a set of arbitrary, nit-picking rules. Viciously and vindictively enforced by a tribunal of lecherous old men. Like the Spanish Inquisition, or Salem Witch Trials. As for American, the Amish refuse to fly our U.S. flag, or recite the Pledge of Allegiance. They are NOT Democratic. They have a Communal culture. In which individualism and self esteem are systematically crushed and squeezed out. They are "Commune-ist". Too many people (tourists) have white-washed and praised these Plain People, for too long. It is high time the UGLY TRUTH come out. They are NOT innocent. They are guilty of rampant, psychological abuse, and filthy sex crimes. -- Rape, Incest, Beastiality. (Do you even know what this last word means?)
What actually happened with this? Did it work? I wonder if they will try it again in 2020. I know very little about politics in the Amish community.
Trump's lifestyle is not based on simplicity. His family life is not based on fidelity. How is that going to appeal to the Amish ethic?
He is for the Farmers and Ranchers because he knows they are what supply our foods.. So l can only say, he may not know farming but l am sure he will get some one in his admin that will know..
