Babymetal and Electric Callboy are two of the most unorthodox and polarizing bands in the metal scene because they like to blend metal with other musical style and have fun with it, so it makes perfect sense that they would get together and create something as outrageously catchy and fun as this. Babymetal attended Electric Callboy's concert in Boston late last year while they were on their own world tour and apparently the bands met backstage after the show and it was during that meeting that the idea of doing a collab first came up. In a video a couple of days ago, Kevin and Nico were talking about the making of the song, and they said it went through 21 iterations as it passed back and forth between both bands before they settled on the final version only when they were shooting the music video. Yes, that hand gesture is the "Fox Sign". That is the sign of the Fox God, the god of metal that Babymetal serves. According to Babymetal lore, the Fox God chose the members of group to be his champions to save metal from the tyranny of the idols. You will see them doing that constantly as part of their dance choreography and in promo images. At Babymetal live shows, fans don't do the metal horns, we do the "Fox Sign".
This! Also it is easy to spot the growth of Babymetal over the years (and well, girls growing up). Each album hits different styles mixed with metal in a good and entertaining way, the last one being very "serious" when compared to some of their older songs. I think it is a great value if a band grows, changes their style and experiment instead of playing the same stuff for 30 years. My best advice for anyone digging into them would be to watch Road of Resistance 2015 live and then compare it to the Metal Kingdom or Monochrome
TanktheTech said they were working on a behind the scenes; Kevin and Nico said Babymetal went to a show in Boston and they met backstage, and the collab came from the two bands meeting. Also Kevin and Nico had a reaction to reactions, and they gave a little information, not much. They said the last part of the song was all due to Babymetal; that they had written two versus and Babymetal wanted to extend t, and they are glad it happened as they feel the song is perfect as it turned out. Also that the girls are very professional and perfectionists, and they learned a lot from the girls. Which given the chaos of EC lasted about a week. I hope they do more this is a good pairing of styles. Happy metal
One thing most people miss, is that Momometal's harsh vocals towards the end. You first hear Kevin's Scream and "ARE YOU READY"during the drop, then if you listen closely during the second "ARE YOU READY" its a different voice, THAT is acually Momometal "showing her fangs"!!! Also twice during "Everybody", the camera focuses on Momometal during those two screams. I think that the reason people are missing it, is that she is not overpowered by Kevin, but rather matching Kevin's scream, and can't tell them apart.
Months before this happened, Babymetal were spotted (and photographed) at an Electric Callboy concert. Did this spark off the collaboration, or was an agreement reached before? Only the Fox God knows 😉
Kevin and Nico were talking about how the collab came about on their "reaction to the reactions" video on their youtube channel, and they said that the conversation about the collab started that evening when they met.
Probably one of the most fun videos of the year. Seeing the guys 'dad dancing' behind the impeccably choreographed BabyMetal was priceless. Very much an Electric Callboy rather than BabyMetal style but the 2 fused wonderfully.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛. BABYMETAL will return to USA and go on tour from Nov. thru Dec. to perform 16 concerts at 15 venues. I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄 . The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍 (EC boys has already played this song on their own in Sweden without BM's intervention 🤣 There is a video in YT. )
Also this song just keeps growing on you. I have lost track of how many times I have heard it 😂 It fades so perfectly on the end to the beginning of you put it on repeat 😂
I heard that KobaMetal ( the dude behind BM )is a Electric Callboy fan and they came to the EC show in Boston last year when both bands were touring in the US so that’s probably how this came about. BTS is in the works it seems and Kevin and Nico did a reaction to the reactionvideo’s which is fun and they tell stuff about the collab.
@@mascha28swinkels Su was telling in an interview that Kobametal has been a fan for years and already their second song iine from 2011 was inspired by EC
The song of the summer! It gets stuck in my head every time I hear it! I need more baby metal and electric callboy songs in my life. Thanks for the reaction! Tank the tech said electric call boy are going to do a making of the video of this song!
Best as I can tell here's how this all started. Koba (Babymetal's producer) took BM to an Electric Callboy show in Boston. They all met after the concert and things moved on from there. This obviously has a very EC format to it. That said Kevin and Nico have both commented that this was a true 50/50 collab from the start. There is a behind the scenes video in the works. No word as to when that's to be released but it should be great. Every indication including their mounting number of live performances of this is there is a great affection between the two bands.
Great reaction! 👍 Saw EC on the 5th of june just a few days ago at Sweden Rock Festival and I'm totaly over the moon 😍 Did not expect it but they played this one to 😃 without BM though. I think the girls also do it on their own to 😊 There will be a making of coming, EC have comented this on another reaction channel
An epic collab to be sure, and an incredible song; it sounds like it could be in a Disney animated musical. And the "ooha- ooha" part brings to mind the anniversary party in Fix-it Felix's apartment in the movie "Wreck-it Ralph" ("Fix-it Felix, ooha-ooha"). 😁 That hand sign is a "kitsune" (Japanese for "fox" - it's part of BABYMETAL lore) Keep rockin’ BABYMETAL!!! KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction. I love the fact that SU and Nico’s voice match so good and Momoko and Kevin’s growls are amazing. You can here the difference Kevin’s first Are you ready and Momokos second Are you ready and also in Everybody. Great collaboration we didn’t know we needed. Keep up the good work.
Well Babymetal had this odeaof a Collabworkflow for some time and Electric Callboy was on Moas list and on Kobametals list pretty high and so when they found out that they had a day without any duty AMD Electric Callboy would habe a concert on this daythey informed them they might come. Electric Callboy even made jokes about it , but they came,, in their full uniforms, otherwise they would not be tecognized. Their uniforms hide their real identities. They said that they wanted to do a song like we got the move and they could make this song by themselves or with them together. While they grew from an idol Project Kobametal took care that his girls keft their idol days as fast as possible. When he finalized the deal with Amuse Amuse obviouly found it funny to make him problems. He had decided to not teach Su according to their expectations but instead to give her a second look onto the stage as a stage hand to give her a second education. So a department of Amuse thought it would be funny to send her a letter where she lost her idol status. And she was devastated and came to his Office. He was not impressed. Because he didn't her as an idol but as a Rockstar, this was his way to keep Moa and Yui in the Band and he would take care that Amuse would pay for this practical joke. He decided to let the Idol Suzuka Nakamura die on stage. What Rockband would dare to let their lead singer die on her 16th birthday on stage? This was the reason why in her Legend 1997 the Song Babymetal death was suddenly switched from the first to the last song. And he started to hide their positions in the Babymetal roster. Amuse would not pay for idols but for his Stars. What he really caused with this decissions he learned years latter, when he suddenly learned that Yui and Moa were perfect techs for their Monitor Setups. He took care tjat Su learned about her Monitor System. And when Yui and Moa found this out they let her teach them what she knew about their Monitor System and then they used their talents and get their Monitor Techs to teach them the rest.
You should watch some playthroughs and drum cams by Patrick Galante. He plays for Ice Nine Kills, and is an incredibly drummer. He also do backing vocals live
👍👍👍An awesomely awesome performance. These two amazing bands always deliver 🔥🔥🔥 and 😁😁😁. This was a colab made in heaven, the fox god and 🤔. Great reaction.🦊 🖖❤
This song is so great gonna be THE song of summer 2024!!! The Duo we needed! I am actually not a fan of Baby Metal as in they are not in my playlists. I would see them live 100%, the EDM electronics tho I think work way better with Baby Metals voices, imo. Too bad you didn't this up within first 3 days Electric Callboy just made a reaction video for the reactions to this video! A lot of cool bts content tho. Partycore forever!🎉🎉🎉
Maybe do a live song from EC next. See how that goes with the copyright? Maybe the sun song KURWA SONG. 😄 Or another live song; we got the moves (Hamburg live on stage POV) 😄
Welcome back to the Foxhole and yep, that's the fox sign 👉🦊🤘🔥 It seems this reaction was blocked and released just today, anyway glad you got this unblocked. You'll see some comments talking about how cool was one of the EC singers when doing that turn around at the end, that's a reference to a reaction vid they did a couple of days ago. They actually met in Boston last year when BM went to see them live and ask them for a collab. EC did a reaction video talking about tidbits of the making of this song but they said it's gonna be a bts coming soon. See you next time 🦊🤘🐭
Yes this about right, but for Babymetal this was no new idea yKingslayer abd Leave it all behind were a kind of Firedrilö for this, i would xall it rent a Babymetal concept. They are pushed out of their comfort zone and bands can rent Babymetal singing to their music.
@@1nbp To be precise Su tried to describe it as dress up Babymetal. She wants to get Babymetal out of their comfort Zone, so she don't really want their usual Workflow if it isn't for their liveshows (where she is the stage director). She wants unexpected problems, she feels this pushes them to their these and in these unexpected situations it pushes them to their best.
Do you dream all these scenarios and things you think Su has said and done and then believe it really happened or are you just a particularly bad writer of fiction and testing out ideas for your next short story?🙄
Did you notice how awesome Kevin turned away at the end?
It looked so cool...
Best to ever do it.

"Ratatata" is the sound of a machine gun, as shown in comics. It refers to the text line "my body is a weapon".
