Also that wasnt just any flag at the end... That was the Jolly Roger, you know, the one image that is synonymous with the word 'pirate'. The real life Jack Rackham designed it. This means he did it. He created a legacy worthy of his name. The real Jack met with a sticky end, but if he was anything like the Jack we know, he'd be more than satisfied with the result. Now I'm gonna go cry because it's over
One thing I've noticed only recently : At the end sure, Anne immediately spots that Mary is a girl, but Max and the madame too... their smiles looking down at Jack at the tavern tell it all and they're laughing their asses off at him being fooled ! :D
That meeting of Flint and Hamilton makes me cry every time. The emotional payoff is so huge and the actors give the scene so much power its actually kinda crazy thinking how this show started out, with sight gags, mostly referencing the first "Blackbeard" we see in the show.
They paint the world full of shadows and then tell their children to stay close to the light. Their light. Their reasons, their judgements. Because in the darkness, there be dragons. But it isn't true. We can prove that it isn't true. In the dark, there is discovery, there is possibility, there is FREEDOM in the dark :') Thank you guys for these amazing months together! I really hope you'll watch this masterpiece of a show again and again, so that you can appreciate even the least detail
A quote to consider about the ending: "Odysseus, on his journey home to Ithaca, was visited by a ghost. The ghost tells him that once he reaches his home, once he slays all his enemies and sets his house in order, he must do one last thing before he can rest. The ghost tells him to pick up an oar and walk inland. And keep walking until somebody mistakes that oar for a shovel. For that would be the place that no man had ever been troubled by the sea. And that's where he'd find peace. In the end, that's all I want. To walk away from the sea and find some peace." I said this before in my earlier comment, but I'm going to reiterate again: I don't believe Silver killed Flint. At all. Yes, it's "left up to interpretation" and that's cool and all, but as Jack says, it's the stories we believe are true that live on, and that's definitely the version I want to live on. Because Black Sails doesn't do visual misdirection. Yes, it's had dream sequences but they've always been about telling us something about the characters, not tricking the audience. (And people go "oh but it's representing heaven" why is there imprisoned work in heaven, why is Israel Hands there, why are they given money for it, why is Silver on the carriage in the background - it makes little sense). It's not that Silver killing Flint wouldn't make sense with the show - it would and it would be tragic - but showing that scene afterwards wouldn't make sense with the rest of the show. It makes thematic sense (finishing the Odyssey parallel Flint brings up early s1) and Black Sails is all about thematic parallels. I think a bit of a bigger tragedy for Silver is because he's lied and schemed so much in his life that no one will ever truly believe or trust him again, especially about something like this, even if it's completely true. Also hey, queer people get enough sad endings as it is. It's nice to have a happy one for once, even if it's also somewhat bittersweet.
Also, because I'm a Treasure Island nerd, the option that he went to Savannah to find Thomas matches up much better with the book, and is also kind of why the creators put it in Savannah in the first place.
That is a very good observation with the quote about the shovel from the Odyssey and it’s use in black sails as a parallel. That one quote always stuck with me and now reading ur comment that if came from the Odyssey makes so much sense.
I do think he killed him, and I believe the colours around the scene have a certain meaning. That ending is clearly told as a story to Madi... Could Silver really send a man to Georgia and back in time? I believe he constructed a dream that he himself wish would have been possible. In the end they are reunited in Death, to enjoy the Elysean Fields, away from the sea and its madness.
This is one of my favorite shows of all time. But watching it with you guys has somehow made it even better. It's been an honor going on this journey with you.
That book the lady was reading at the end, “A general history of pyrates” written by Captain Charles Johnson is essentially the bible for pirate history, it has accounts of the most infamous pirates and is the book that gave us our understanding of what a Pirate is. Pretty sure it even sparked the creation of the original treasure island.
ONDI63 what’s a bit sad is that it’s also the book the revitalized Woodes Rodger’s career, where he returned to Nassau and succeeded in being governor/eliminating the remaining pirates
The writers have said that the ending is whatever you want it to be. They left it just ambiguous enough that each viewer has to decide for themselves if they believe Silver is telling the truth or not. Personally, I believe he is. :)
They always show the image when something is true. When someone is telling someone else about something and they don't show it happening, then you can doubt it
@@undarkwin Well they kind of have to, so people wouldn't be confused in future episodes, but in this case it's the end, the place where interpretation can go wild.
I LOVE that you guys played "I'm Still Here" for the intro! It was a nice surprise because Treasure Planet is one of my favorite Disney movies and its also appropriate for this show.
This was really hard to go through with you guys. This show is amazing. Hands down the most underrated show of all time. I don't even know what to say anymore..... Too sad tbh lol.
I believe Silver sent Flint to Thomas. From what I remember at the time the creators said this is how they wrote it. Also, going by Treasure Island Flint would be alive at the end of Black Sails.
I'd really like to see some source for your first statement, as I have never read the creators state any of that. Only that they left it ambiguous on purpose.
I personally loved how they came back to Flint's discourse in season 1 about Ulysses, leaving the sea forever for the land and farming. And also their differences in the end from Treasure Island (es Billy Bones destiny), justified by the fact that Treasure Island itself is just a story that, like the stories that the girl Jack spoke to read, was written by the civilized, who painted pirates as monsters. Great journey I'm gonna miss these!
That plantation is full of people society couldnt tolerate... I'm sure there's more than one openly gay relationship there. The owner obvs doesnt care about delinquency so as long as the work gets done im sure he doesnt care what goes on. This is the type of plantation the general public are unaware of. It seems like the kind of place you'd only find out about if you needed their services, so 'openly gay' is a bit of a stretch lol.
That intro got me. First of all, I just want to say - thank you for watching and reacting to this show. It's been such a joy to experience it again with you, but I've also been so happy every time someone has said that they started watching the show because of these reactions. I love this show, and it deserves more recognition - because I really think it's a masterpiece. I started watching this show when it first came out, because I heard it was a prequel to Treasure Island (which is to this day, one of my favourite books. I love it to bits). And it became a show that's meant a lot to me. That aside, I'm sad the journey is over. It's been amazing watching you guys grow to love this show, shout at this show and fall in love with the characters. Really, it's been a highlight, every week. I bawled my eyes out first time around, this time I fared a little better, but still. It's rough, because it feels somehow like it's ending again. But I agree, it's... fascinating how many happy endings we got. Not BIG happy endings, because there was no revolution and freedom, but small ones. Which perhaps was all they could have for now. To add to the debate in these comments: I 100% believe Flint got reunited with Thomas. Yeah, it's cool that it's slightly ambiguous and such, but at the same time... I buy it. For many reasons. Firstly, I don't think this show ever shows something that doesn't happen (even if it's sometimes in a character's mind, like Flint's dreams). It tells lies sometimes, but it's a show that always ALWAYS trusts its viewers and that doesn't show things that aren't true. It withholds information, but it doesn't tamper it or change it. Secondly, I think it fits much more thematically with the story. No big happy endings, but small ones, were people can find a few years of peace (and I do believe they payed for them to be released, or Flint is going to be out of there with Thomas in week). It fits so well with how Flint quotes Odyssey in the first season. Because now, he finally reaches that point, that place, where he's so far from the sea that someone would "mistake that oar for a shovel". It fits to well to just be a "but haha, it was a lie". Thirdly, and perhaps most purely emotionally important to me - queer people so rarely get happy endings. In some countries, it is literally still forbidden to give queer people in fiction happy endings - and it was more common just a few years ago. So to have this is important, to so many. And I love this show for doing that. (Also, as a Treasure Island fan, it says that Flint died in Savannah - even if the details aren't exact, I like that it lines up.) Granted, I also believe that the core message of the show can be summarised in Jack's monologue at the end. "A story is true. A story is untrue. As time extends it matters less and less. The stories we want to be believe... Those are the ones that survive." - and I know which story I want to believe, and that's the story that's true for me. And I love the way Black Sails phrases that, and plays with the very idea of story-telling and history. Because in the end, this is a work of fiction, talking about real history, and some real people, and it's all fiction in the end. But can't we just believe some of it, a little bit? I think we do, in part, when it's a historical drama like this. And Black Sails is aware of that. As many have already pointed out, Mark Read is a cover name used here by Mary Read - a famous pirate who sailed with Anne Bonny and Jack Rackham. But hey, that's what fun about this show, to find out so many new things. I'm really looking forward to you summarising your thoughts and answering questions! So happy you're doing that. And it means I can pretend it's not yet over. (As for Treasure Island, so many characters in this are from that - Silver, Flint, Billy, Madi, Ben Gunn, Israel Hands, Tom Morgan... Love those details. Fun fact, my favourite adaption of TI is the Muppet's and also Treasure Planet - which has Israel Hands as the character of Scroop, and he terrified me as a child.) Anyway. Essay comment over, for now. Looking forward to hearing you talk more about this show (and for you to discover the amazing amount of fantastic fanvids out there for Black Sails! Really, it's amazing). Glad to have been with you for this journey. Here's to many rewatches in the future, because this show deserves it.
Wow...I started watching this series, due to loving your reactions (for years) of the shows I had watched, and I wanted a new one. I quickly flew through the entire series, while watching your reaction to each episode, after I viewed it on my own. This show, out of so many, is now one of my top 3 favorite live action/dramas of all time (out of many), and this reaction of you BW boy's is also one of my favorite of all times. Thank you for being so genuine, soulful, and never holding back with your reactions and comments. You're all true gems!
I read treasure island as a kid and I really loved it. It was what got me into pirates in the first place. Then I got into Pirates of the Caribbean and then I discovered this show. When I finished the show, I read the book again now as an adult and I have to say, because of the show, I was legitimately crying throughout the book at certain moments and especially when Silver was talking about his time with Flint. You guys really should read the book, Treasure Island was good but now it’s ten times better because of the show.
Here I am, watching a reaction on a show i followed 4-7 years ago. Having to wait a year for each season was hell. But it was the best show ever, to this day. Enjoyed all these reactions. Great stuff, guys. I like seeing this show get more appreciation than it did. I had an ex colleague back then who did not want to watch the final episodes. Because he didn't want to show to end :( He hasn't seen it yet to this day lol
And it is all over… Until the ghost of Flint’s come to haunt everybody pretty quickly… While we have seen rage in Flint throughout the series, I believe Silver misjudged him, simply because it served his goal. I truly think that Flint motivation was to offer others the freedoms that were refused to him. And he was doing it the only way he new how, waging war. He was the last remnants of the old guard. Like Vane & Teach he had a certain code and was ready to sacrifice himself in the service of the entire community. Silver and Rakham, on the other hand, only ever served themselves. The sad thing is that all the things that Flint tells Silver will happen, are easily foreseen… Flint himself in the past looked for a political solution to the conflict only to be betrayed by the elites. Looking for the status quo isn’t acceptable, only a true revolution will bring freedom. And so, in real life, the Governor after a short stay in disgrace in England, will come back and rule on Nassau, still remembered as a hero today. The real Rakham being hanged, Bony avoiding the rope and disappearing. When Flint mentions “the stories they tell their children”, we have already witness how the life of Vane had been told “Making soup with his ennemies”. Dehumanising them, and completely erasing all mention of a political struggle against slavery or serfdom. And it is only fair, that in treasure Island, Billy, gone mad after years spent alone on the island, produces a treasure map that Silver follows, hunting for that moment where he could have changed the world, but instead behaved selfishly as ever. Flint was intense and scary, but also a man of honour true to his core.
This episode needs times to sink in... Lots of people don't want to believe that Silver killed Flint... But the colours, the story is just a fable for Mady.
I just 5min ago finished the series! OMG... guys i have no words what a masterpiece. The passion about the show and everything else was just amazing. Love this!
Agreed with Eric, wasn't disappointed with the finale, because the power of the writing, acting and production was exceptional. But the last one, man, that for me was phenomenal. Thank you lads for the reaction and journey with Black Sails.😙❤
Chris Larkin (Berringer) and Toby Stephens (Flint) are brothers. Their parents are Dame Maggie Smith and Sir Robert Stephens. Anna-Louise Plowman (Mrs Hudson) is Toby Stephens's wife.
What a voyage! I got into Black Sails because of your vids. One of the best shows I've ever enjoyed. Thanks for the time and talents you put into these reactions/reviews!
This is so old but I'm just getting around to it and I love that you used the song from Treasure Planet. I think it was one of the first bits of tv I ever cried to and it still gets me each time. Loved this series and your reactions. Thanks for talking about it so much during the tier lists!
when Rick mentioned One Piece I screamed!!! oh I wish the rest of the crew will watch op one day without fillers and stuff but I really hope so!! other than that, I feel sad that this journey will end :"( Black Sails in one of my top 5 TV shows and It was a blast watching it again with you guys!
Just finished binge watching this show for the first time. Have told everyone I know to check it out. Superb writing, direction, acting (props to standouts Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold), locations (definitely got to visit South Africa)...and so incredibly underrated. I can't list favorite moments, there were too many of them, but I definitely was #TeamSilver throughout and loved the John Silver/Madi Scott storyline. And, did anyone else get pissed when Flint slaughtered Dooley - he was a straight up soldier to the bitter end (Laudo Libenberg you're the bomb). Definitely gets a place in my top 10 shows of all time. Sorry to see it end after four impressive seasons but it was well worth the ride. Thanks for the videos Blind Wave.
While it's not the happy ending, I believe Silver killed Flint. Flint says in episode 9 "Even if you manage to kill me, how are you going to explain it to her. Not even you can construct a story to make her forgive you that." Flint was wrong :/
Oh no Silver definitely killed Flint. What we don't know is if he pulled that trigger or not. I don't think he did cause it highlights the differences between them in that, Silver will never kill a comrade for "the greater good" but would find a different way instead. Although i do believe Silver isn't beyond fabricating this whole story, I think back to the scene where he says Flint shall have his trust and I tear up a little and stand convicted.
Silver is the villain of Treasure Island after all. And as Madi noted, he had been planing to betray Madi and Flint for a long long time, not caring about anybody's sacrifice. He is a selfish man, and a killer (by his boot ^^) multiple times before.
Thank you for reactions, guys! I love this show very much, so it is a joy to see some attention brought to it. One of the best series in general - brilliant actors, engaging plot and writing, excellent score. And your detailed attention for the action parts of the show, is a great addition! Normies usually don't notice well-crafted swordfighting, naval battles, authentic historical environments etc. And it is one of the few shows, that correctly implements both women empovernment and lgbtq+ relationships. And without sacrificing its quality, or historical situation, or character developments. Black Sails was promoting diversity and feminism before it became a mainstream :)
Here it is, the last episode to my fav show... kinda scared to watch :'( this has been an epic journey and I'm glad you love the show as much as me and many others! Some of the best characters and writing in any show I have seen and the actors just blew it away, Flint's speech man... muh emotions! there's a following on twitter and the actors often interact with the fans which is also pretty cool! So underrated - hope more people start to watch Black Sails. Recommended Black Sails Reactors: Jimmy Macram Sithfurion KimmyKush Filmbuff (currently has 3 full length uploads on patreon, but will be uploading edited videos to youtube soon) ALSO, PLEASE watch Flesh and Bone by Zurik... it's unreal
I have not started the reaction yet, but I cannot express how much I love them for using I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme) from Treasure Planet in their opening!
Great intro to the finale reaction. I've enjoyed the journey through Black Sails with you all at Blind Wave. Wish it didn't have to end. Perhaps, as a part of your wrap up video, you could react to certain Black Sails videos by Zurik 23M.
This show is a perfect example of a happy ending only being where you decide to stop the story. Woods Rogers would later get out of debtors prison, and return to Nassau as governor for the rest of his life. He is stilled remembered for successfully driving out the pirates, not as a failure. Jack would later be arrested and executed for piracy, Mark Reed would die from childbirth, and Anne would have to retire from piracy without Jack. Flint and Billy both become alcoholics, and eventually drink themselves to death. Hands is killed by Jim, in self-defense, during Treasure Island. Silver got married and open a successful business, but then threw it away to go back after the treasure, and later becomes a fugitive. Ben Gunn is really the only one to get a happy ending, but he had to go through being marooned on the island for years then being a beggar, before getting it.
The story of Ben and Billy is one thing that I wished was answered in the show. Both characters end off completely different in the show than how they are in the beginning of Treasure Island. Billy isn't marooned in Treasure Island, and I don't think he mentions ever having been marooned in the island. Ben isn't marooned at the end of the show, so how does he end up getting marooned in the book? Doesn't he say in the book that Flint marooned him? How could that be if Flint is no longer a pirate in the end of the show. Also how did Billy get off the island? Didn't the book also say that Billy was with Flint when he died? It's been a while since I read it, so I may be wrong on that
@@Vinlander95 No, Flint has nothing to do with Ben's fate. He goes to TI with a completely different crew at some point to look for the treasure and they leave him there as a punishment for wasting their time. His end is fine. Billy I dunno, it's a bit complicated how he suddenly gets the black spot from his crew and LJS because he has Flint's map...20 years later...?
Well, I don't think Ben Gunn got happy ending. He got only 1000 pounds of 700000, spent all his part in England for a few days and eventually became a porter for the rest of his life. Silver got even less, about 300 or 400 pounds, it's between 80000 and 110000 dollars in our days. Very good money for an average person, but not as great to retire and live in luxury as Silver wanted. However Silver was very careful and wise with his money, so it could be invested in something or injected as cash into his existing enterprises (he had liquidated his Bristol assets before he left to seek treasure of Flint, but his black wife usually managed their business during his absence and she stayed in England, so perhaps there were other businesses to manage). So I think he was fine. Jim also thought in the book that Silver settled in some kind of comfortable retirement.
1:55 that's actually what I did... I put off finishing the series for like almost a whole year. I now wish I hadn't waited so long, but yeah...I just didn't want it to be over.
The choice of song for the intro is unbelievably fitting considering that it's the song that plays in Treasure Planet when Long John Silver is being a father figure to Jim Hawkins.
Rick/Eric "It's never over if never watch it" that was my logic over 3 years ago & it took you guys reacting to it from season 1 to RIGHT NOW for me to finish the last two episodes... You guys rejuvenated my love for the show refreshed my memory on all the plot lines now I push play! Thanks BlindWave... I'm finally at peace 🙇🏿♀️
@@alexhodgkinson6718 by the time Black Sails season 4 dropped I had completely stopped watching the show and the Hand full of episodes from season 4 that I did see I was somewhat fuzzy on the plot lines... through blind wave I got caught up and now can close the chapter on this three-year long journey...
One show you guys would probably love is the BBC Three Musketeers. It ran for 3 seasons and is on Hulu. It's a pretty awesome show and it'd be great to see you guys react to that!
Watch 1950 Disney Treasure Island it has Robert Newton as John Silver, he created the pirate voice (that we know and love today) in that movie. It is remastered in color, I grew up watching that version, and still enjoy it today.
now that you've finished watching, i highly recommend listening to the podcast Fathoms Deep!! they have a discussion of each episode but they also have a bunch of episodes interviewing the cast and crew which are amazing to listen to. my personal favorites are the ones with toby schmitz ;)
I'm so happy y'all are doing an epilogue video! People, for the sake of those of us without a Twitter, SEND IN YOUR QUESTIONS!! twitter.com/BlindWaveProd with the hashtag #BlackSailsQnA
Ok, this is my question: If you were there, would you be on Flint or Silver's side and why? Sorry I don't have a twitter, nor do I want one. P.S I watch this show when it aired and only had one other mate who watched it. I know everyone always says it but this show is genuinely underrated and so unknown still that it's been really awesome to not only see you watch and enjoy it, but also to get so emotionally attached to the shows characters and bromances. As a gay man, it's SO refreshing to see a character who's non-straight sexuality is both relevant to the plot, but also not the characters defining trait. In the age of forced representation for the sake of it, this is how it should be done. It's one of many facets that make Flint who he is. Flint is my favourite character from film or TV. And then there's Jack. Fuck you, Jack. Possibly the character I relate to most in any media. Not to bring up my sexuality again, but I'm gonna lol. I know I'll never have kids, I don't want them - but it is the simplest form of legacy, something I've struggled with just like Jack. I'm not a fighter either, I use my wits to get me places, whether thats in or out of trouble. That cheeky personality is something I adopted early on and I know what it's like to stand among perceived, metaphorical 'giants' it can be hard to stay confident and relevant in such company. But I, much like Jack, overcame all of that and managed to gain the deserved respect. Tl;dr - Black Sails is the shit! And so are you!
The composer, Bear McCreary, has made several videos about the recording of the soundtrack of Black Sails. Those videos are great. They're on his youtube channel, you guys should react to them.
I think James ended up with Thomas on the plantation. When Silver says to Mattie he had to "unmake Flint" it is direct throwback to Flint and Miranda saying he had to make something people would fear. The only thing at the end of Black Sails that could have ended Flint's crusade is if he was no more...if James had Thomas.
The ending was so sad... I loved so much this series. There isn't a lot of tv shows or movies about pirates which are really interesting to watch. Black Sails is a really underated series. She deserved so much more views, and a season 5 or 6 would have been much appreciated. I miss Nassau so much. I would love to see a sequal with the same actors, in a tv show or for a movie... A story telling about the story of Jack Rackham or maybe Treasure Island... That would be great.
Personally, I think Silver killed Flint on the Island. The plantation scene might be a visual of Flint becoming McGraw again and meeting Thomas in heaven, maybe????
Mark Read was Mary Read, famous WOMAN Pirate. When finally captured and Jack was hung both Ann and Mary were not killed because they were both pregnant.
Billy all the way man. He went 3 - 0 wins/losses against the ocean. Guys biceps won't let him sink. Plus he's been imprisoned 4 times. He organised and led the Pirate Militia on Nassau and built up Silvers legend. He's the one that started the propaganda war against the British reintroducing the Black Spot. He was the one who said Silver should deliver Flints message, he gave Vane the diary necessary to help give vanes men time to take the cannons and while flint and vane were rampaging through Charles-Town, Billy freed the other prisoners, took the ship back and then commanded it to sink the 3 ships in the harbour so Flint and Vane could get back to the ship. He also rooted out Dufresnes near mutiny, he was the one that chose Skeleton Island as the exchange, he knew about Avery's map, he told Woodes to attack the Walrus while all its major players were off deck. Billy did so much for the Pirates ans constantly got tortured and then he gets blamed and betrayed by the pirates. No wonder he went full dark at the end. Perfectly explains why the Billy in Treasure Island is a lonely, sad drunk scared of any pirate finding him.
Also with Thomas being alive it explains why Lord Hamilton was sailing the Atlantic all those years ago - it wasn't just a trip as Lord Proprieter of the Bahamas Islands... He was most likely going to visit Thomas!! I wonder if Ashe knew as well and was going to tell Flint and Miranda? Wasn't Abigail sent to Georgia too?
The flag is the famous Jolly Roger. Mark Read was a real female disguised as a male pirate, Mary Read. “He” looked strange to you because she was played in the show by a woman.
There's a tv film with Carlton Heston and young Christian Bale. That one is exactly the book. It's very good. Treasure Island is a much more naïve narrative, once the narrator is young Jim Hawkins.
After that Walking Dead episode last night, the last thing I need to see was a Black Sails blindwave montage at the beginning of this video...so thanks guys 😒😔😞😖😭
About everyone getting a happy ending apart from Woodes Rogers, historically speaking Jack, Anne and Mary/Mark Read were caught and hanged while Rogers only spent a couple of years in prison before being absolved of his debts. He was even reinstated as governor of Nassau. As for the fictional, according to Treasure Island Flint died a lonely drunk.
Now I'm gonna go cry because it's over
Ha, gaaaaaay.
I loved that they had that flag at the end of the series. A perfect ending.
Pretty sure Blind Wave had the exact same flag hanging in the background in season 3... Maybe season 2?
They talked about this before.
With Anne both swords 🥺
"He was very particular looking." Probably because he was a she. 😂
After GoT I had to come back to watch these men react to what is IMO one of the most satisfying series finales ever put to screen.
Breaking Bad was quite great too. But I think this one trumps it
One thing I've noticed only recently : At the end sure, Anne immediately spots that Mary is a girl, but Max and the madame too... their smiles looking down at Jack at the tavern tell it all and they're laughing their asses off at him being fooled ! :D
That meeting of Flint and Hamilton makes me cry every time. The emotional payoff is so huge and the actors give the scene so much power its actually kinda crazy thinking how this show started out, with sight gags, mostly referencing the first "Blackbeard" we see in the show.
Although it's most likely just a story the Silver came up with, I'm fairly sure he shot him in that jungle.
@@happzy yeah I appreciate that its left ambiguous, although I like to think he was telling the truth. Flint deserved a happy ending
@@happzy showrunners confirm it was true but it was still made ambiguous so you can take it otherwise to let anyone take it how they want
@@happzy Flint can't die there, this is a prequel to treasure island
@@Volzarok Then I guess that would be the first time someone took a creative liberty when approaching a tv series.
They paint the world full of shadows and then tell their children to stay close to the light. Their light. Their reasons, their judgements. Because in the darkness, there be dragons. But it isn't true. We can prove that it isn't true. In the dark, there is discovery, there is possibility, there is FREEDOM in the dark :')
Thank you guys for these amazing months together!
To walk away from the sea and find some peace."
I said this before in my earlier comment, but I'm going to reiterate again: I don't believe Silver killed Flint.
Arguably it's the Elysian Fields, not Heaven, if we're using Greek Mythology; but I agree with you, I hope he didn't kill him :')
EXACTLY !! A SHITY END!!
This is one of my favorite shows of all time. But watching it with you guys has somehow made it even better. It's been an honor going on this journey with you.
Brandi H YES!!!! :)
@@undarkwin the Barlow and Eleanor ghosts weren’t true.
But outlander tho.. 😂
The intro made me sad :( Can't believe it's over!
I can't believe it's over :(
I believe Silver sent Flint to Thomas.
(Also, as a Treasure Island fan, it says that Flint died in Savannah - even if the details aren't exact, I like that it lines up.)
Granted, I also believe that the core message of the show can be summarised in Jack's monologue at the end.
Fun fact, my favourite adaption of TI is the Muppet's and also Treasure Planet - which has Israel Hands as the character of Scroop, and he terrified me as a child.)
Anyway.
Loads of respect to the actors in this show! I am so impressed with each and every one of them!!
Such an outstanding show. I’m watching reactions as a way of not letting go of the show right now lol
Marc Reed was a very famous female pirate that dressed like man. The Flag at the end is the most famous Pirate Symbol of all time!
This song..
It's from fucking treasure planet! I'm in tears it was my favorite song in the movie
That was a nice touch by Billy the editor!
So fitting right!!!
Great damn series. Thanks for doing it fellas. Wish more knew about this epic show!
It's been wonderful to watch you guys experience/appreciate one of my all time favorite shows.
Such a great underrated show.. hoist the colours.. long live the black..
Just want to say thankyou for introducing me to this fuck*ng show.. one of the best thing i ever watched.. best experience ever
And it is all over… Until the ghost of Flint’s come to haunt everybody pretty quickly…
While we have seen rage in Flint throughout the series, I believe Silver misjudged him, simply because it served his goal.
The sad thing is that all the things that Flint tells Silver will happen, are easily foreseen…
Flint himself in the past looked for a political solution to the conflict only to be betrayed by the elites.
I refuse to believe it's over, it has been the best tv show i've watched
Black sail and these reaction was the best thing that happen in my life😭
Treasure Planet opening??? 10/10
While it's not the happy ending, I believe Silver killed Flint. Flint says in episode 9 "Even if you manage to kill me, how are you going to explain it to her. Not even you can construct a story to make her forgive you that." Flint was wrong :/
Agreed.
ryanxp001 yeah silver killed flint, you can tell when you see all them birds flying
Opening with a song from Treasure Planet is the strongest hook the universe has ever seen
The feels in this is insane thank you guys so much for reacting to one of the Best shows. 👏
Black Sails was promoting diversity and feminism before it became a mainstream :)
so obsessed with the show
What a hell of a ride. Really enjoyed sharing it through the rewatch with the blind wave crew!

Great intro to the finale reaction.
I've enjoyed the journey through Black Sails with you all at Blind Wave. Wish it didn't have to end.
Perhaps, as a part of your wrap up video, you could react to certain Black Sails videos by Zurik 23M.
DAMN¡¡ black sails is one of those few series whose finally always let me sobbing
I finally finished black sails and finished all I’ve your reactions. OH THE FEELS
The Treasure planet nod in the opening was just perfect lol
A long list of disgraces, though I'd love so much to see all of them on the big screen with the same actors of BS
Jim also thought in the book that Silver settled in some kind of comfortable retirement.
babyblindwave reactions never fail to fill my heart with joy
RIP a great show. If you loved it check out Turn: Washington's Spies. Similar premise but with spies and soldiers.
this intro was emotional
1:55 that's actually what I did... I put off finishing the series for like almost a whole year. I now wish I hadn't waited so long, but yeah...I just didn't want it to be over.
Your facial expressions say so much, at the perfect times; love it!!!
That was emotional. Now, the perfect antidote - BANSHEE!!!
I'm so sad it's over but thank you for this journey! ❤️😭☠️🏴
Great show
One show you guys would probably love is the BBC Three Musketeers. It ran for 3 seasons and is on Hulu. It's a pretty awesome show and it'd be great to see you guys react to that!
Watch 1950 Disney Treasure Island it has Robert Newton as John Silver, he created the pirate voice (that we know and love today) in that movie. It is remastered in color, I grew up watching that version, and still enjoy it today.
i loved your reactions to black sails! on a similar nautical note you should definitly try out the terror (2018) i think you'd love it
That intro though!
now that you've finished watching, i highly recommend listening to the podcast Fathoms Deep!! they have a discussion of each episode but they also have a bunch of episodes interviewing the cast and crew which are amazing to listen to. my personal favorites are the ones with toby schmitz ;)
I'm so happy y'all are doing an epilogue video! People, for the sake of those of us without a Twitter, SEND IN YOUR QUESTIONS!! twitter.com/BlindWaveProd with the hashtag #BlackSailsQnA
should start a fan email wave to ask creators to do treasure island !!! So glad you guys loved series - knew you woud :)
You need to react to Penny Dreadful! Same type of brilliant writing & dialog and amazing cast!
Yes same Penny Dreadful is a must. It's the Dark Universe done right.
Hell yes!
botched ending sadly
@@Groganee True, it was too rushed. New characters added with no time to unfold. I wasn't upset with the final scene though. I was crying my eyes out
Now we need a Penny Dreadful Reaction series. Or Spartacus.
The treasure planet intro gave me the feels. It's been a great ride.
Time for THE EXPANSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so many important parts that some of the most important had to be cut
The composer, Bear McCreary, has made several videos about the recording of the soundtrack of Black Sails. Those videos are great. They're on his youtube channel, you guys should react to them.
I'm still just in the the opening; YEEEES YEEEEES APPLAUSE
I'm really hoping there's a Treasure Island spin-off so we get more Blindwave pirate intros. #RIPBlackSailsIntros
I'm going to miss this ☹
Personally, I think Silver killed Flint on the Island. The plantation scene might be a visual of Flint becoming McGraw again and meeting Thomas in heaven, maybe????
Way to make that ending even more depressing!
I mean... let's be real here, do you really think Flint would have gone to heaven???
@@XblasertX haha
19:16 agreed
Mark Read was Mary Read, famous WOMAN Pirate. When finally captured and Jack was hung both Ann and Mary were not killed because they were both pregnant.
Using Treasure Planet theme earned my patreon lmao so sad it's over
About the same time as Black Sails came out, there was a John Malkovich series called Crossbones, that crashed and burned after only 9 episodes
Heres hoping we get a Starz Treasure Island show or mini series!
I am so sad this is over. All good things must come to an end.
Remember The Cant !
Yup. Dragon Speech broke them. Black Sails has done the job. Nothing more to see there !
The flag is the famous Jolly Roger. Mark Read was a real female disguised as a male pirate, Mary Read. “He” looked strange to you because she was played in the show by a woman.
I would give money to see the creators make a treasure island sequel
There's a tv film with Carlton Heston and young Christian Bale. That one is exactly the book. It's very good. Treasure Island is a much more naïve narrative, once the narrator is young Jim Hawkins.
After that Walking Dead episode last night, the last thing I need to see was a Black Sails blindwave montage at the beginning of this video...so thanks guys
😒😔😞😖😭
Best show ever!
I hope you watched Zurik's videos Eric! :D
