My Psychedelic Record Collection

- If you've been following me since 2014, you have probably noticed how much my music taste has evolved & how knowledgable I've gotten over the years. I have progressively gotten more & more serious about collecting one of my favorite genres: Psychedelia.
The way I see Psychedelic music is that it's music that takes you somewhere or someplace in your own mind, with cosmic sounds. In this video you will dive into what is in store in my collection so far, & what I consider to be part of the "Psychedelic" mind frame. So this will cover all of kinds of sub-genres such as heavy psych, acid rock, blues rock, hard rock, pop-psych, baroque pop, sunshine pop, garage rock, experimental, etc.
From major label psych to private pressings. From late 60s to more modern.
Now this is not my entire psych collection. I had forgotten some artists like the Hendrix Experience. But I would say this about at least 90% of it though. It took a lot more time than it should have to cut & paste every single record you see here. I edited this in a slideshow-type of style. Where it'll display a record for a couple seconds & moves along quickly cut. So if anyone should have any questions about any record shown here, feel free to ask me in the comments. Great format. Nice change from a person telling us more or less superlatives about 15 different records. This format packs up a lot of information in 12 minutes. I am looking for a list of all the records shown in this video. I will scroll down the comments in search of records list. I hope someone has taken the effort of putting together the list in the comments section.

Great collection! I have 50% of them and more psych from all over the world, like Skandinavia, Greece, Germany, Spain, Japan.
Great collection. I picked up a copy of Amanaz when I was in Africa back in 2009. Hard one for me to find. Lot of others I bought when they where released way back then. Been collecting since 1965.

PsycheDerek , I think you should do a part 2. I know I’d love to see it. The first time I really tuned in to your channel I went back and watched this video and realized how little psychedelic music I had and it was refreshing because in my area of the world I thought I’d grabbed almost everything available lol. What a more impressive and incredible collection than you presented I only have 45 between lps and cds.
The vast majority I don't know and some others I've seen being sold and part of very exorbitant prices.

I started my record collection last September and can't wait to continue the growth. The only psychadelic records I own are Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane and Part One by WCPAEB. I wanted to ask your opinion on what I should invest in next on my quest for one of my more interested genres of music, psychadelic. Please let me know what I should consider when collecting!

You have most of my collection
Although you have some international albums, I’m surprised you don’t have more Krautrock. It’s a whole psych planet unto itself, as you probably know. Also, I thought it was funny how you’re slipped in Panda Bear’s “Person Pitch,” a recent psych classic. What about all of the other great psych stuff released since 1980?

It might depend on the type of pressing it is. This one you see on Klimt is not designed like an import.

Just watched this and I find it unbelievable that you managed to ignore all my favorites. If I didn't know better I would think you did it on purpose. Wheres the Pretty things 2 Harvest lps, High Tides first two, Misunderstood, Strays first, The way we live, Tomorrow, Toomorrow, Fire ....shoemaker, Procol Harum, I needn't continue keep searching the list of good stuff is endless.

Psychedelic music was explained by Timothy Leary and his relation whith the l.s.d.consumers.
Not too bad but I don't understand why you wouldn't put the name of each one of the albums on the video there's a lot of names I can't even read this is the first video of yours I have tried to look at which is five years ago I will try to look at some newer ones and see if you've improved.

@@PsycheDerek. thanks for the offer I am 68 years old and this was the music of my youth in my hippie days. It gets frustrating when you can't read things and then you end up trying over and over entering in combinations trying to figure it out the names are sometimes it works and sometimes you have to give up. I very much appreciate all the older guys and the younger guys that have gotten into this and showed a lot of interest in the music of my era. Have a great time treasure hunting because we didn't have computers to discover a lot of non-main stream music. I have found a lot of fantastic gems by researching websites like yours.
