I mean what movie did you guys watch that this narrative is being thrown around of “they finally listened to us and gave us an entire movie of monster fights!”. 85 percent of the movie was either pure set up or pointless shenanigans of the side characters of the fat employee and the annoying little kids snooping around trying to find out information on APEX. So much of this movie was incoherent inconsistent garbage man. The fights were well done but there was so much time in between each one that by the time we got to the end it felt dragged out.

The fighting was phenomenal. My only complaint is that the movie makes you feel bias towards kong from the beginning because of the way they portray his part which kinda takes away from the theme of choosing sides. I mean I'm not too familiar on the lore of both monsters but it was my understanding that they are both good. It doesn't change how awesome the movie really is by the end of it though. I think we all just needed a movie about a giant moke and lizard beating the snot out of each other in 2021

Millie bobby brown or stranger things girl is a fabulous actor and no i am not simping, she has done a great job in enola homes and 3 seasons of stranger things, in this movie she doesn't fit at all, her charector has no Weight and all she does is be ANNOYING if anything, the fire child form Deadpool 2 did the better job of delivering lines as a charector.
I like how in long range combat, Kong is running and hiding.. but when he got close he unleashed a combo and makes it hard for Godzilla to use his Atomic Breath..
It felt extremely realistic. I never felt disappointed with a scene. I felt like mechag was a little op, but he may have seemed that way cuz Godzilla wasn’t on his A game but was worn out and mentally drained. He really laid into Kong, like, really went after Kong and was damaged by his axe, and ultimately, I liked how Kong had a big heart and stepped in and helped Godzilla with Mecha G. Seemed like I could equally root for each character. I was glad they respected Godzilla’s superiority over Kong all while honoring Kong’s intelligence and mobility and most importantly, his heart. Godzilla seemed neutral morally speaking (if you can assign morality to monsters) and was only concerned about his throne, while Kong had a heart and soul which was driven by themes like his home, family, and relationship with his little girl human. Just very well done. I think they could have had slightly better acting but I loved it!

The movie was a 90% in my opinion. The only thing keeping this from a 95% or even 100% was the wasted potential of SEVERAL of the characters. Ren Serizawa could have been so much more but they threw it out the window.
I can’t believe how much of a beast mecha Godzilla was in this movie. Witnessing Kong get bested by Godzilla and then seeing how helpless he’s was against mecha Godzilla was insane. I’m surprised they were even able to 2v1 him, but I guess for the movies sake they had to win
I just likened it up to Godzilla being tired from killing the #2 Apex Titan and sustaining a bit of damage, maybe if it was a 1v1 between Godzilla and Mecha-Godzilla off the get-go it would have been more of a fair fight. Kind of like how a solo MUTO didn't really stand a chance against him but both of them were a bit of a threat
Well, technically they were going to lose. Mecha Godzilla only really lost due to the satellite connection, otherwise he was WAY stronger than Godzilla and was about to kill him the same way Godzilla killed King Gidoriah last movie.

As a Kong fan this movie was exactly what i wanted pertaining to Kong’s and Godzilla’s story. but everytime millie bobby brown part came up i just wanted to get back to Kong.
This movie deserves all the praise for being a 'crossover' versus movie where they actually pick a winner instead of having a draw, ambiguous ending, or they start fighting and have to deal with a new threat and become friends. There was a new threat but when that guy showed up to the scene the fight between nuclear lizard and monke was absolutely over and the loser was fucking dying on the ground.
When Godzilla stepped on Kong’s chest and roared straight at his face I like to decode that as Godzilla showing dominance over Kong, rather than showing mercy.
It's more like Godzilla asking Kong to surrender and bow to him but Kong refused and Godzilla is impressed to meet the first Titan who won't back down.

I don’t really get why Godzilla fans complain about this. Godzilla isn’t really a character, he’s just a force of nature. He doesn’t show emotions, he doesn’t care about any humans unlike Kong. Even in Godzilla’s movies he isn’t the main story, it’s Millie Bobby Brown’s family. And especially in 2014 who just comes in when the fight is there. Godzilla doesn’t have much to do in a story, what did they want to see, Godzilla swimming or sleeping or something? lmao
Those legs can move. However even though he can run fast right at a opponent, he turns super slow. Which makes sense. Having tail that large is needed to move while being super heavy. However it does make it hard to make turns.
Especially at Round 3, he's super pissed off after getting KO'd by Kong's axe. He went full real lizard and using his four legs and scratched Kong's chest.
Sadly, the movie really only used him as a side peice, in a side plot, that could have been removed entirely. The way that whole side plot went down was the only thing that had me annoyed. I didn't hate the characters, but knowing that the entire side of the plot could have been cut for a tighter narrative, if not for hollywood contracts, had me somewhat upset.
Charlie's a pretty bad critic. I don't trust him at all. He definitely belongs more to the "Jeremy Jahns" side of TH-cam where I can get a read on what general audience members might think of a movie than someone with an actual critical/analytical approach to the art of film.
My only real complaint is that Mechagodzilla got beat because a kid poured alcohol on a keyboard. Obviously Monkey and Lizard weren't gonna lose to Robolizard, it's just annoying that he lost THAT way.

The biggest plot twist was Kong's ability to communicate, which was amazing. Kong was a more human character than the actual humans, and far more empathizable.
The ending was great! When godzilla and kong were driving their cars side by side and they both grinned at each other and drove separate ways was very touching.
As a big fan of kaiju, this film delivered. The lore was there, the amount of character the titans had (Godzilla smirking after fucking up Kongs back), the sheer epicness of the battle, Godzilla going feral etc. This was without a doubt a great experience, highly recommend
I heard that in the actual lore Godzilla is ten times bigger than King Kong , which in the movie they are in the same size. Nonetheless, still an intense movie.

A major thing i appreciated was having each monster play to their strengths. I was worried they were gonna go for a pure strength battle which wouldnt have made sense for kong to contend in. Godzilla is a beast in terms of raw strength. Having kong rely more on tools and agility was way more satisfying to watch

The addition of Jia is more impactful than it seems. She adds a different dimension to the movie, many of her scenes creates silent nuance and brings chills but quiet vibe in the middle of a GIANT MONSTER movie where the sound mostly goes BANG & BOOM. 😅

I LOVED that Godzilla and Kong were adapting to eachother in the Hong Kong fight, using different tactics, like how Godzilla realized he cant spam his atomic breath, so he used way more melee tactics and moved on all fours

The fighting was phenomenal. My only complaint is that the movie makes you feel bias towards kong from the beginning because of the way they portray his part which kinda takes away from the theme of choosing sides. I mean I'm not too familiar on the lore of both monsters but it was my understanding that they are both good. It doesn't change how awesome the movie really is by the end of it though.
I think we all just needed a movie about a giant moke and lizard beating the snot out of each other in 2021

Millie bobby brown or stranger things girl is a fabulous actor and no i am not simping, she has done a great job in enola homes and 3 seasons of stranger things, in this movie she doesn't fit at all, her charector has no Weight and all she does is be ANNOYING if anything, the fire child form Deadpool 2 did the better job of delivering lines as a charector.
When people figured out in the trailer Mechagodzilla was gonna be in the movie, everyone pretty much knew what was gonna happen.

I like how in long range combat, Kong is running and hiding.. but when he got close he unleashed a combo and makes it hard for Godzilla to use his Atomic Breath..
It felt extremely realistic. I never felt disappointed with a scene. I felt like mechag was a little op, but he may have seemed that way cuz Godzilla wasn’t on his A game but was worn out and mentally drained. He really laid into Kong, like, really went after Kong and was damaged by his axe, and ultimately, I liked how Kong had a big heart and stepped in and helped Godzilla with Mecha G. Seemed like I could equally root for each character. I was glad they respected Godzilla’s superiority over Kong all while honoring Kong’s intelligence and mobility and most importantly, his heart. Godzilla seemed neutral morally speaking (if you can assign morality to monsters) and was only concerned about his throne, while Kong had a heart and soul which was driven by themes like his home, family, and relationship with his little girl human.
Just very well done. I think they could have had slightly better acting but I loved it!

This movie really was a Kong movie overall. Felt like a sequel to Skull Island, but with the god king himself as the antagonist.
It probably was supposed to be more of a kong movie since godzilla already had his sequel and has an established group of humans that liked him so they needed to show more about kong

The movie was a 90% in my opinion. The only thing keeping this from a 95% or even 100% was the wasted potential of SEVERAL of the characters. Ren Serizawa could have been so much more but they threw it out the window.

I can’t believe how much of a beast mecha Godzilla was in this movie. Witnessing Kong get bested by Godzilla and then seeing how helpless he’s was against mecha Godzilla was insane. I’m surprised they were even able to 2v1 him, but I guess for the movies sake they had to win
I just likened it up to Godzilla being tired from killing the #2 Apex Titan and sustaining a bit of damage, maybe if it was a 1v1 between Godzilla and Mecha-Godzilla off the get-go it would have been more of a fair fight. Kind of like how a solo MUTO didn't really stand a chance against him but both of them were a bit of a threat

This movie deserves all the praise for being a 'crossover' versus movie where they actually pick a winner instead of having a draw, ambiguous ending, or they start fighting and have to deal with a new threat and become friends. There was a new threat but when that guy showed up to the scene the fight between nuclear lizard and monke was absolutely over and the loser was fucking dying on the ground.
Yeah, but they still had Kong deliver the fatality on MechaGodzilla so fans of each character had something to be happy about. Very well handled.

I loved how fast Godzilla was in this. He's always been this slow lumbering behemoth, but he friggin zoomed at Kong a couple times.

Those legs can move. However even though he can run fast right at a opponent, he turns super slow. Which makes sense. Having tail that large is needed to move while being super heavy. However it does make it hard to make turns.
Especially at Round 3, he's super pissed off after getting KO'd by Kong's axe. He went full real lizard and using his four legs and scratched Kong's chest.

The way that whole side plot went down was the only thing that had me annoyed. I didn't hate the characters, but knowing that the entire side of the plot could have been cut for a tighter narrative, if not for hollywood contracts, had me somewhat upset.

The biggest plot twist was Kong's ability to communicate, which was amazing. Kong was a more human character than the actual humans, and far more empathizable.

As a big fan of kaiju, this film delivered. The lore was there, the amount of character the titans had (Godzilla smirking after fucking up Kongs back), the sheer epicness of the battle, Godzilla going feral etc. This was without a doubt a great experience, highly recommend
I heard that in the actual lore Godzilla is ten times bigger than King Kong , which in the movie they are in the same size. Nonetheless, still an intense movie.

@@xaviermoyssenalvarez4419 well they explain that but kinda poorly. Gravity kinda flips when you enter or exit the hollow earth. That’s why they said they would need to make a ship that could survive the gravity ship which is how they just went from flying to falling when they entered.

It could've been an ancient rivalry but Godzilla's main focus was never Kong so the rivalry wouldn't have mattered. Kong kept fighting Zilla but at the end he gave up that's it.

Godzilla getting on all fours was surprisingly scary, not gonna lie. It really felt like the King of Monsters really cut loose this time around and went as savage and violent as possible.

Less humans is better for a movie like this. That's actually a plus for me. The only time rhe bailed the human perspective was with Bryan Cranston and they killed him off half way through the film.

Quite literally the first biggest mistake is killing Cranston. That is sort of a problem all around. They need to keep the same human characters for atleast more than half a movie. It's like every half of every monster verse movies the characters change

The humans played smaller role comapred to the last movies. I thought they were just listening to criticism because most fans said they wanted more monster action instead of human exposition. And we got it in GvK.

A major thing i appreciated was having each monster play to their strengths. I was worried they were gonna go for a pure strength battle which wouldnt have made sense for kong to contend in. Godzilla is a beast in terms of raw strength. Having kong rely more on tools and agility was way more satisfying to watch
Movie was handdown a masterpiece. Hell, bringing back Mechagodzilla was such a good idea. 13/10 is good

Kong was more or less just pissing Godzilla off during that encounter and got his axe disarmed from him like 2 or 3 times before Godzilla was like "aight bet" and shifted into croc mode.

The addition of Jia is more impactful than it seems. She adds a different dimension to the movie, many of her scenes creates silent nuance and brings chills but quiet vibe in the middle of a GIANT MONSTER movie where the sound mostly goes BANG & BOOM. 😅
I think the fact that she brought silence to the movie instead of the usual "human noises" is what made me love her side more than the godzilla crew.
I was pissed off when they let Jia into the HEAV with them. Why the fuck would you bring a child on that expedition? She already got Kong to go into the tunnel and yeah you might need her to talk to Kong later but it was so fucking dangerous and they knew it would be. Like what the fuck?
