    Great gun for tieing steel, been using it pretty much 9 hours a day 5 days a week as my main working tool, easy to refill but for a tool it could be a bit more sturdy, after a few falls from hip level onto concrete ground the gun does start jamming up both with the Jaws and the reel inside, you just find yourself flicking it on and off so expect to get a new one or a repair after some use. Tieing speed gradually goes down as the 3 bar battery gets depleted so you find yourself charging and swapping batteries a lot to maintain optimal efficiency. After 6 months I have had 2 new guns and 1 repaired, still a valuable resource for non hard to get places.

    Questions please: 1. durability of the device; lifespan? 2. is there a pole-stand up and rebar-tie option? 3. is this 220 or 110, and time to charge, life of battery load? I appreciate how you've improved this device, allowing lower twist, tighter, and double or cross tying too.

    Nice equipment for rebar and you present very well. But dude. Get rid of the tacky music. It's hard to hear you over it.

      Thanks - great tool and makes my job pretty easy. Wasn't responsible for the music choice, but Acme's editing is pretty good where they show the action of the tool. Thanks Jay

    Seems a bit pricey, however more than a bit of engineering/R&D went into these things. And people complaining they aren't a couple hundred $$.....

    If I wanted to use this to tire fencing wire to sucker rod (3/4-1") steel rod, how long will the wire last in the outdoor elements? Is there better wire I can use, like a galvanized wire?

    • @maxusadannyhale4877
      @maxusadannyhale4877 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a number of wire options - Electro Galvanized will be the outdoor inexpensive rout, then followed by Poly Coated. Hopefully this summer Stainless Steel will become available for the Twin Tier (SS is currently available on our previous generation).

      There are 5 wire options readily available; TW1061T (Standard and cheapest $), TW1061T-EG (Electro Galvanized $$), TW1061T-PC (Poly Coated / Yellow $$$), TW1061T-S (Stainless Steel $$$$), Made in the USA TW1061T-USA (Standard / Red, White and Blue Box $$$) and special order TW1061T-USA PC (Poly Coated / Red $$$$).
      Suggest the TW1061T-EG (Electro Galvanized) as your low cost and better exposure to the elements. The TW1061T-PC (Poly Coated) would be the next step up in wire life and weather exposure. Most often used in Department of Transportation road and bridge construction where salt and chemicals for deicing will be used.

    Can it be reloaded with the traditional wire instead of the one it comes with?

    • @dannyhale6914
      @dannyhale6914 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, No. The two strands of 19g wire are is formulated to travel through the gun, get curled, caught, pulled back for tension, tied, cut and ends knocked down for safety.

    Would this work for tying PVC to rebar?

    • @dannyhale6914
      @dannyhale6914 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES - There is a tension dial in the rear of the to the tier by the on / off switch. Put the setting at #1 or #2, as conduit will compress and then flex, snapping the wire as the tier thinks it can still tighten. Also great for thermal heated floors. Weird places you find the tier being used is on Maple Tree Farms for their tubing or even to tie off Sandbags for emergencies team.

    • @dannyhale6914
      @dannyhale6914 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, turn the tension on the back of the tools down to 1 as PVC will compress, flex and snap wire at the higher tension.

    • @dannyhale6914
      @dannyhale6914 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES - We have two jaw sizes and depending on the work you do. Electricians often find the RB611T the model of choice as it allows the largest capacity and will tighten everything down using the exact amount of wire needed. MAX RB611T is 5.7 lbs, Maximum Ties per spool = 205, Minimum Ties per spool = 115. Effectively tie combinations from 1.25" up to 2 3/8". 5,000 Ties to a full battery charge (80 Min to charge to Full). Ties approximately 1/2 second. Two pieces of 19g wire make the finish tie (comparable to 16g strength). Tie height 1/2" or smaller.

    Is this #5 rebar ?

    • @dannyhale6914
      @dannyhale6914 ปีที่แล้ว

      The RB441T ties and secure rebar combinations as small as #3 x #3 up to #7 on #7. Two #4 over 2 #4 for a total of 4 bars can be secured.
      The RB611T ties and secures rebar combinations as small as #5 x #5 up to #9 x #10 (1.25" up to 2 3/8").

      MAX RB441T suggested sell is $2,850 and found most often online around the $2,785. Talk with your favorite tool / concrete dealer who can advise about when they are on promotion. Acme Tools who promoted this video back in 2018 when the Twin Tier was first launched has the full array of MAX products available on their website site (shipping out of Iowa, Minnesota and North Dakota). Prices updated 10/22.

      @Terrell Berger people usually associate higher price with higher quality. That's how almost all tool manufacturer market and price their products in this way.

    Did you say walk of shame to get more wire...thats the statement that says you aren't a rod buster....

    • @dannyhale6914
      @dannyhale6914 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry if that was taken inappropriately, it wasn't my intent. Walking to get wire has to be done when Rod Busters are pulling the trigger and using our MAX Tiers as well. The Rod Busters feedback over the last 30 years has made the MAX Rebar tools what they are today. Our hope is we have designed a tool with distinct payback for the Rod Busters. Snap ties are numerous, tedious and our goal was to speed up production time, while minimizing impact to Rod Busters wrists and back.
