Hey there, long time viewer (I got your intermediate course, will get the basics one when you have one of those nice promotions haha), I'm not sure you'll read this comment since it's an "old" video but I've been questioning the teachings around me more and more (probably because I feel like I might one day teach myself). Unlocking the "walking" aspect of casino has really made me progress leaps and bounds, but I now am confronted with the fact that around me most people don't do that.
In my school, my teacher, who's quite good and does walk herself, said to me she couldn't teach her beginner students the moves with walks because they never understand it and it's not "natural" to them, so she tries to make them do first easy "cumbian-style" steps and backsteps, to then progressively make them do smaller steps. But in the end, most of the men I see do backsteps and cumbia-steps, including more advanced ones. I can't basically lead well some of the worse students because they do those huge backsteps which break the connection and force me to do backsteps as well as big steps in general.
My question is: how do you it yourself with your beginners? I am really curious about what your beginner's classes look like (I live in Europe so I can't come to your place). When people have to do an enchufa, do they naturally backstep? Can they understand the walking part? How do you make them go progressively to the walking enchufas? I feel like I can't get much answer there except from the MCC enthusiasts... But clearly your enchufa videos are one of the few showing it this way. And at first I didn't understand why since I was always taught to lower the arm then lift it up while doing a sort of backstep. Now it makes much more sense especially considering all the more advanced patterns and figures are done walking and not "on the spot".

    Is it enchufa or enchufla?

Many try to "correct" it to "enchufla"
