This is a great video. Thanks. I have a few questions. 1. Did you have to purchase the option for DMR radio? 2. On the 431MHZ ham signals are you pulling that off of your hotspot that is running off your internet? Thanks, Greg, KO8A
Glad for you! I've heard it's a great scanner. I've been thinking about getting one but I kinda hesitant due to the Question I'll ask you now: What can you listen to? Just the Police Frequencies? Or anything else??? I'd like it to have a little more of options regarding coverage in general. Thanks for your time and Enjoy it!
Be very careful with plugging in USB cables to the ports on the side. I found out the hard way that the soldering used to secure them to the PCB is very poor. Not an easy repair on such an expensive radio.
Agree I think best way is to unplug as often as possible using the PC connection at least we can programme direct to the card and charge battery externally using EBC100 , Thanks
It sucks that you basically *have to* buy an SDS100 or 200. _Nobody_ else makes anything to deal with simulcast AFAIK. Even still, there's next to no company that makes P25 radios outside of bulk orders to organizations of their choice.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones I agree. I returned the used 436HP to Amazon yesterday and my SDS100 arrived today and I really like it. The price was painful though because there's just no competition.
Yes, I have an SDS 100 I live in Santa Fe New Mexico area code 87507. I am trying to get city police and New Mexico state police district. One only can you please help me
This is way more than an easy setup video. I felt like I was back in high school in my basic Algebra class!!! I've set my SDS100 for my area using the Area Code. Nothing else as these vids as well as the owners manual which I had to print from online are way to involved with info. Information Overload.
Well if its not on those special digital channels police use then a much cheaper scanner or walkie talkie can be used. The main thing that would be worth the price tag is hearing police

In UK this is how we have to do it .
I was thinking this could be a fun thing but I'm finding out at least in my location police are encrypting everything
There is way more to listen to than police .

Just goy a sds100 the worst this is the worst scanner I have ever had in 50 years in the hobby.
No it's a very good scanner but very hard to learn many sell as it takes hundreds of hours .
