WhaToCook Trini Recipes And More 💖 I landed in Trinidad for the very first time February 15, 1996. I fell in love with the culture, the people,and especially the steel pan. I stayed with a family in the country so I got to really experience it all...fresh coconut water from the tree, I danced in fancy Carnival clothes near the Red House. I was in a celebration where people from different neighborhoods would put this colored mud on you as you party in the streets. We hiked to Maracas beach, I saw fort George... There's nothing sweeter than the sound of live steel pan orchestras playing... like wow! 💖 Sorry so long,it just seems like I was there yesterday. Haven't been back since 1996. Trinidad is still; and will always be, in my heart though. Can you do a Roti or callaloo & crab video? That's my favorite! I would love to cook that for my Mom and daughter. Thanks for responding 💖
Love your videos. Whenever I see these types of videos or hear that sweet accent, I miss home, more and more. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, so Maracas was a monthly thing, but I still get nostalgic. Keep up the great job of highlighting our culture, food and country.❤️

You really was so informative on the trip I got tears of joy for my country. The way it turned more people no longer want to even visit Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival because of the high crime rate. Thanks for sharing.
My family warned me alot about being careful and aware. Could you imagine I did not even go into town but actually I was able to do all my business in the Tunapuna area so there was no need to go into town. TFW!

Martina, I truly enjoyed this video. It had me smiling till the end. I do not believe I have ever been to Maracas. A few years ago I came to Trinidad and we were heading to Maracas; however, my driver decided to take me over the mountain, I could not stomach the drive and he had a make a U-turn and take me back home to Long Circular. I would love to visit Maracas but it would have to be on a straight road, no hill, no mountain.Thank you and your family for sharing this video with your viewers.

+June Viarruel The journey there is really nice up in the mountains and the views are just magnificent. We mostly use to swim at a beach called Tyrico beach which is just after maracas bay beach. Las cuevas beach is a little further. TFW!
