i remember when MAMA banned fandom lightsticks at one of its shows because many of the attendees were ARMYs and they made it look like it's a BTS concert instead of an award show and we still managed to sneak in those lightsticks to let the boys know that we are there for them. Also one thing i love about armys that our lightsticks can change colour so not just we supported BTS but also changed the colour of our lightsticks to the colour that the group performing is associated with so that they also feel loved and especially when we know that during BTS debut no one supported them and even used to turn their lightsticks off and show middle finger to them and everything. My tannies have come so far🥺
It was exactly this show lol The other big entertainment boycotted bc BTS won and they thought it was unfair 💀 so in this one the Japan stop it was mostly smaller artists. The venue thought it wouldn’t be good for other artists. BUT army filled the venue, brought their own sticks and cheered for everyone 🥹

It's a pretty common reaction to J-hope's stage presence, many people who went at a BTS concert said that they were amazed by how he shines on the stage. He's a true performer and I always thought his live performances were even better than his studio version. You should watch his solo stage performance at Lolapalooza from 2 years ago, he was amazing.
BTS live is truly mind blowing. It's not just the songs, or the stage - it's the relationship between the members, how they interact with Army and how Army react back. Hobi is amazing, they all are, but Hobi is something else. He lights up like a beacon 💜
Definitely the worst camera work... they have improved over the years but here it was terrible 😢 There is another pre-recorded version of this song that looks much better... this choreography is worthy watching. The live voice is the same, only without an audience

Oh are you in for a treat! BTS is known for many things, but spectacular live performances is definitely one of the top. And what is great is that you will find many different types of live performances. All out, vulnerable, fun, pure vibes, sharp choreography, vocal focused, dance focused, loose and goofy. And the great part is that the type of performance matches the theme of the songs or type of context it is shown in. There’s almost always another layer. Like performing this right after Fake Love where they are like dolls on string, taking off the mask in this middle video and then going into Anpanman that as you know symbolizes how they are not strong like Superman, but their superpower is to make music that feeds our hearts. More like an every day superhero, but the one who makes a difference in society. Here they were dressed up in astronaut themed clothes, and they’ve also performed this in workclothes of men who take care of garbage. So here they are much more relaxed, goofing around while delivering an incredible performance as their true selves (unmasked).
They have almost unmatched stage presence and energy plus songs not just catchy but such original deep meanings. It’s the combo that makes them special. Taking over award shows!
The best thing about this terrific performance is that an even better live performance led into it - Fake Love. They sang two very different songs that day, back-to-back, which is not uncommon at MAMA (or other Asian awards shows).
I genuinely think j-hope is the performer of our generation. No one controls a stage like he does. I went into a concert in 2019 Jimin biased and left j-hope biased. Have been with him ever since. We call j-hope the Sun because he’s bright and full of energy but it’s also because he really has his own gravity and you feel his pull throughout the whole stadium when he’s on stage. I join the chorus of people who recommend his Lollapalooza live. :)

In one instance you’re mistaken, where they were dancing as a trio with JK at the front, Jimin wasn’t there… it was Jin and Suga! I think you often confuse Jimin and Jin during the dance performances, which I find a bit funny because Jimin is part of BTS’s main dance line. Great reaction!
AnPanman is a hero with no powers but he gives a piece of himself to help others. He is depicted as a “ human cookie” , a metaphor, who gives pieces of himself. Beautiful message.
If you want to see the choreo better, you can watch the dance practices. There are tons of them for many different songs. You have got to see the practices for their early stuff. If you think they are in sync now, you have to see the choreo all the way back to 2013, 2014 etc. If the choreo called for them to all jump in the air together, they even jumped the same height. They are amazing!! They really are a performance group and that is why they sound even better live.

For a very vocally impressive live performance id recommend reacting to Film Out! However, since you never heard of MAMA before this I’m assuming you’ve also never heard of their ICONIC MMA (another award show) 2019 set. It really gives you the FULL BTS experience!!!

Nobody shines like Hobi when he's dancing. He was a competition street dancer prior to joining BigHit. I mean, that's his thang. He gets back to his (dance) roots in his recent docu-series "Hope On The Street", and produced some of his best music along the way. It's on Prime Video but there's a great song/dance compilation here on TH-cam you should definitely watch.

Hobipalooza (J Hope´s performance at Lollapalooza) is till this day one of the best concerts i´ve ever seen (and I am a 51yo who has been to many concerts). Then D Day was extraordinary, then each and every one of them have done fantastic performances in this solo era.

Each one of these guys is superstar in their own right, It just so happens they are all in one group. When you get farther into their catalog and start watching the solos, you will begin to see why BTS is so special. Yeah, BTS is known for their high energy, so the camara at that point didn’t know how to function, but it has gone a lot better. They have learned that with BTS you need a lot with all angles cause they move a lot!!

We watch MVs for the creativity and production quality. I had never seen this preformance and was also frustrated by the camera crew but in fairness they were trying to catch all of that for the world in 8 minutes. It's an impossibility.

Hobi is known throughout the fandom for his Jesus-like power to convert every person into his fan with stage presence alone. It's kind wild how so many fans walk into the concert biasing other members and walk out a J-Hope bias. His stage presence is insane, especially his solo stages.
Ohhh we grew up same era,I was really into NSYNc and thought at that time that they were the best in performing-kinda remember it was the MTV (with the tv heads choreo)…not until I discovered these guys-BTS. You should watch their MMA 2019 --that’s one of their best performance.

16:10 This performance was in 2018, the year they almost broke up at the (then-) height of their fame, due to burnout. I remember that year's MAMA really well, because it was held in three different countries on three different nights, so actually watching the entire thing was LONG & required getting up at a ridiculous time in the very early morning due to time zone differences. This was the Japan night, which makes it even more significant that the crowd is clearly all in for BTS., given that it's not their home turf. This was also their final song of a multi-song performance spectacle which also had some noticeable technical errors on the part of the production staff. "Anpanman." was the centrepiece of the * goof around & have fun * section of their concerts during this era + Anpanman (the character), is Japanese & the song was a big hit in Japan. I can only imagine that the members made a conscious decision to end their performance with this song to: 1. Recreate the vibe of a BTS concert experience for MAMA viewers. 2. Release a lot of anxiety, stress & BS by letting go & having fun.

If you want to see the choreo in full, check out the dance practices. Stages and MVs are a bad place to expect a fixed camera view. But they do put out dance practice videos that show the whole thing.
Other great live performances are Not Today, Dionysus, Fake Love, Idol, Outro Wings and Tear. So many to choose from. I have seen them live. PTD in LA in 2021 and Suga in New York last year. I have been to many concerts and they are the best! 💜
I have seen almost all the superstars live performances but MJ BTS are really something else ...but for me is really a competition between MJ and JHope

This is one of my fave songs to see them perform live. It's always so fun and exciting to watch. It's a shame that the camera crew kept cutting away so you couldn't see many parts properly. I suppose it's a thing where they want to show the size of their crowds and how impressive their award show attendance was as well as audience participation. It's just annoying that the viewer misses out on a lot when those shots could be reduced. The performances of Anpanman at their concerts and at music shows definitely show much more of their choreo and the group. Although some of the performances are more about them working the crowd and having fun together which is also really great. Like when they spend half of the time singing and playing on a massive bouncy house lol.

I had 4 tickets to see them again the following 2020 at the same venue (Metlife stadium) but pandemic messed it up. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Haven't seen them live since...not even Suga's solo concert and besides Jin, they're all serving their mandatory military service. I can't wait for you to see some performances with better camerawork - this one cut to the audience very often and missed some of the best moves in choreo so it stole a little from experience. Just so you know - award show performaces are a little more fancy compared to concerts - for example the video you seen at the beginning, some additional dance breaks etc. Also, we often got clues about new albums hidden here and there in those moments - it was so much fun to analyze and brainstorm with other ARMY for days after award shows! When it comes to choreo, I think you would love "RUN BTS" from concert in Busan. Also, is there a chance for you to watch full concert? It often has VCR videos to make whole concert into a story with strong narrative. I think you would enjoy it, especially from Love Yourself and Speak Yourself tours :)

Honestly never look at their hair to recognise them. Look for certain facial features and lock in on the voices coz once you recognise the voice you won't confuse them for most parts.
If the weather is nice and you're stuck in traffic, blast this song with the windows down. It such a mood booster for a bad mood. The Asian award shows are notorious for bad camerawork. For the lightsticks, a lot are BTS ARMY bombs, but there's also a lot of multi stans that can bring a different artist's lightstick and just keep it lit for any artist you like. Lightsticks are expensive (about $50-$70) so multistans make due with what they have. They just can't connect a non-BTS lightstick to the Bluetooth that will be available at their actual concerts. Artists use the lightsticks to spell out words or make patterns during the concert since your lightstick is registered and your seats are assigned, they can synch everything up. Lastly, ARMY that go to their concerts always say the stage is where JHope REALLY shines.💜

Each one of these guys is superstar in their own right, It just so happens they are all in one group. When you get farther into their catalog and start watching the solos, you will begin to see why BTS is so special. There are no "background" singers, they all take their turns and combined they are incredible. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yeah, BTS is known for their high energy, so the camara at that point didn’t know how to function, but it has gone a lot better. They have learned that with BTS you need a lot with all angles cause they move a lot!!

"I wish the camera would zoom out so I could see the choreography." That's why we watch dance practices. We watch fancams and the different lives like this to see the energy and stage presence. We watch MVs for the creativity and production quality. I had never seen this preformance and was also frustrated by the camera crew but in fairness they were trying to catch all of that for the world in 8 minutes. It's an impossibility.

To see Hobi's stage presence watch Lollapalooza performance and thr opening to the Yet to Come concert 2022 Busan. He is unbelievable!
Hobi is known throughout the fandom for his Jesus-like power to convert every person into his fan with stage presence alone. It's kind wild how so many fans walk into the concert biasing other members and walk out a J-Hope bias. His stage presence is insane, especially his solo stages.

Ohhh we grew up same era,I was really into NSYNc and thought at that time that they were the best in performing-kinda remember it was the MTV (with the tv heads choreo)…not until I discovered these guys-BTS. You should watch their MMA 2019 --that’s one of their best performance.
They truly LOVE the stage and making people happy. It is a joy to watch live. Just three hours of pure screaming and singing.

16:10 This performance was in 2018, the year they almost broke up at the (then-) height of their fame, due to burnout.
I remember that year's MAMA really well, because it was held in three different countries on three different nights, so actually watching the entire thing was LONG & required getting up at a ridiculous time in the very early morning due to time zone differences.
This was the Japan night, which makes it even more significant that the crowd is clearly all in for BTS., given that it's not their home turf. This was also their final song of a multi-song performance spectacle which also had some noticeable technical errors on the part of the production staff.
"Anpanman." was the centrepiece of the * goof around & have fun * section of their concerts during this era + Anpanman (the character), is Japanese & the song was a big hit in Japan. I can only imagine that the members made a conscious decision to end their performance with this song to:
1. Recreate the vibe of a BTS concert experience for MAMA viewers.
2. Release a lot of anxiety, stress & BS by letting go & having fun.
J Hope is the king of the stage and has a UNIQUE stage presence! He always fills the stage and draws attention. 🔥💜

If you want to see the choreo in full, check out the dance practices. Stages and MVs are a bad place to expect a fixed camera view. But they do put out dance practice videos that show the whole thing.
You have to see the concert version of ANPANMAN its pure chaos but absolutely fun to watch.

Other great live performances are Not Today, Dionysus, Fake Love, Idol, Outro Wings and Tear. So many to choose from. I have seen them live. PTD in LA in 2021 and Suga in New York last year. I have been to many concerts and they are the best! 💜

This is one of my fave songs to see them perform live. It's always so fun and exciting to watch. It's a shame that the camera crew kept cutting away so you couldn't see many parts properly. I suppose it's a thing where they want to show the size of their crowds and how impressive their award show attendance was as well as audience participation. It's just annoying that the viewer misses out on a lot when those shots could be reduced. The performances of Anpanman at their concerts and at music shows definitely show much more of their choreo and the group. Although some of the performances are more about them working the crowd and having fun together which is also really great. Like when they spend half of the time singing and playing on a massive bouncy house lol.

Live performance of Apan Man is life changing?!? Imagine attending their full live concert!!!! 😭💜🎶 My last BTS concert was back in May 2019 before pandemic hit us. I had 4 tickets to see them again the following 2020 at the same venue (Metlife stadium) but pandemic messed it up. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Haven't seen them live since...not even Suga's solo concert and besides Jin, they're all serving their mandatory military service. Luckily Hobi is coming home soon & joining Jin. It's not 13th yet here, but happiest of Birthdays to our precious Park Jimin!!🎉💜

I think you will love their dance practices Michael, where you get to see all the choreo. Their live performances though are unmatched, whether it's a concert or awards show. But, in all honesty, awards shows somehow turn into BTS concerts...💜 Borahae
I can't wait for you to see some performances with better camerawork - this one cut to the audience very often and missed some of the best moves in choreo so it stole a little from experience. Just so you know - award show performaces are a little more fancy compared to concerts - for example the video you seen at the beginning, some additional dance breaks etc. Also, we often got clues about new albums hidden here and there in those moments - it was so much fun to analyze and brainstorm with other ARMY for days after award shows! When it comes to choreo, I think you would love "RUN BTS" from concert in Busan. Also, is there a chance for you to watch full concert? It often has VCR videos to make whole concert into a story with strong narrative. I think you would enjoy it, especially from Love Yourself and Speak Yourself tours :)

Honestly never look at their hair to recognise them. Look for certain facial features and lock in on the voices coz once you recognise the voice you won't confuse them for most parts.
If the weather is nice and you're stuck in traffic, blast this song with the windows down. It such a mood booster for a bad mood.
The Asian award shows are notorious for bad camerawork.
For the lightsticks, a lot are BTS ARMY bombs, but there's also a lot of multi stans that can bring a different artist's lightstick and just keep it lit for any artist you like. Lightsticks are expensive (about $50-$70) so multistans make due with what they have. They just can't connect a non-BTS lightstick to the Bluetooth that will be available at their actual concerts. Artists use the lightsticks to spell out words or make patterns during the concert since your lightstick is registered and your seats are assigned, they can synch everything up.
Lastly, ARMY that go to their concerts always say the stage is where JHope REALLY shines.💜
