I once asked a panel of science fiction writers at a convention in Rockville, Maryland what defined science fiction as a genre for them. This generated a surprising amount of uncomfortable looks, as if I was touching a sore topic for many.
I was first reminded that language usage dictates language definition, so the opinions of writers doesn't define what it means, since writer to reader usage is skewed so heavily in favor of readers. However, it is a consensus among science fiction writers that the usage of technology for entertainment, environment, and excitement is "science fantasy" and it dominates the mainstream media.
Science fiction is intended to be speculative about how technology or progress will effect the human condition, sharing in fantasy in that it imagines what could be, but focusing at its heart on how science will alter what it means to be human, and potential answers or downfalls that will come with these changes. It is more rare to find stories that genuinely put these questions at the forefront of their narrative.
This video was utterly and without a doubt science fiction in a way that would have made those panelists smile.

But even at 20+ Billion, I think that’s emergency and sets the political will to develop better habitable places in the solar system. @@raylopez99 Fusion is the future, if we can achieve it. Fission is here, and it's already better than most power generation methods. Beamed solar would be better, but that needs to overcome the hurdle of our present lack of orbital infrastructure.
Regardless, 100T is generally going to be the limit on earth due to heat generation both from power generation, use loss, and the body heat of humans themselves. Heat recapture methods like radiative cooled sterling generators would increase this limit somewhat, and the real heat threshold limit is somewhere in the 300T range on it's own with fission calculations for power generation, but I was going for easy numbers here.

Developing countries essential have all the population growth in the world and roughly around 10 billion should be were most countries in the world reach the status of a developed nation and population levels will drop a lot due to lower reproduction.
